Played correctly according to the beginner strategy!

Flop
Played correctly according to the beginner strategy!
Since your opponent only donk bets 1/2 pot, we have to call here with a top pair, which is a made hand. The opponent still often bets here with weaker hands like draws and mid pairs.

Turn
If you implement the beginner strategy without adjustments, then your bet is correct, since you hold two pair.
However, the problem here is that there are four clubs on the board, and any further club already completes a flush. This not only means that your opponent can very easily hold a better hand, but it also means that the opponent is afraid of you having a flush if they don't have a good one themselves.
The probability therefore decreases significantly that many weaker hands are still willing to call your bet on such a turn.
As soon as a one-card monster is possible, meaning you only need one card for a completed straight, or only one card for a completed flush, we have to play much more cautiously.
In this case, we only hold a monster if we hold the Ace of Clubs. Of course, you can also bet/fold with the King of Clubs and the Queen of Clubs. Then the opponent can still often call with a weaker club flush.
With two pair like here, we should simply check and not bet.

River
Just as the Turn, same reasoning, this is just a check and no longer a bet. Strictly according to the beginner strategy, the bet is correct, but only because it doesn't take the specific situation into account.
Here you have to adapt and only check.

Preflop
You didn't play correctly according to the beginner strategy. We only call pocket pairs in the big blind, not in the small blind.
You generally shouldn't get into the habit of calling too many hands in the small blind. It's the least profitable and most difficult position to play in poker. That's why, with the hands we do play, we usually want to 3-bet to take the initiative.
Hands that aren't strong enough for that are simply folded. 55 is one of those hands.
Of course, there are situations where an advanced player might simply call in the small blind. However, as a beginner, you should stick to the small blind chart from the course for now.

Flop
Good deviation! According to the beginner strategy, this would be a call against one opponent and only a check/raise if the opponent bets 1/3 of the pot or less.

In this case, your deviation is correct. Your opponent still has many hands in their range that will call your raise, such as 99+, any flush draw, and sometimes even 8x. They also have the set of 2s in their range. You could even raise larger here. Against a 1/2 pot bet, you can easily raise to 42c-48c. The hands I mentioned will usually still call.

Turn
Played correctly according to the beginner strategy!
There's no reason to deviate here. The opponent can still overplay 99+ or a flush draw, as well as the weaker set of 2s. We only run into real trouble against 88. Even against a possible completed straight with A4, or 46, we still have outs to a full house. However, A4/46 is rather unlikely; they would have had to call the flop with only a gutshot straight draw.

Preflop
Going all-in directly against the small 3-bet is definitely wrong. According to beginner strategy, we would simply 4-bet to 2.5 times the bet, since we are playing in position.
In this specific situation, I would deviate from that and 4-bet to 3 times the bet. This is because the opponent's 3-bet is so small. Generally, you can remember this: if the opponent's 3-bet is not at least 3 times the bet and you still want to 4-bet, then always 4-bet to 3 times the bet.

A direct all-in like this will often generate more fold equity than we want. We want our opponents to be able to make mistakes with weaker hands.

Oh, thank you. I wasn't paying enough attention and misread the hand history; I somehow thought we were in the big blind.
I've now adjusted my post accordingly. Calling with 55 in the Small Blind is, of course, wrong according to beginner strategy, and we should have folded.

Hello Paxis, thank you for your feedback. I have another hand here that is difficult for me.

According to the beginner strategy, it should be a bluff 4-bet to 3x the original raise. But what if there is a 3-bet and a call? Should it still be 3x?

If you got a caller, you put 1x more to the raise. In this case 1,2$.
However, from an advanced perspective, in such a situation we would call with AJ preflop and not bluff 4-bet.
If, as a beginner, you don't yet know how to correctly play such a hand postflop out of position after only calling the 3-bet preflop, that wouldn't be a problem. You could simply start by only playing strong draws, like open-ended straight draws and flush draws, as well as monster hands, i.e., two pair or better, from the flop onwards.

Played correctly and based on correct assumptions, according to beginner strategy!

The Qx combinations he calls on the flop will usually be folded on the turn against another bet. Some Ax combinations are also in his preflop calling range. He won't fold those on the turn. Therefore, check/fold is the best option for now.

Flop
Played correctly according to beginner strategy!
But yes, you can easily bet larger here. Generally, you can remember that you can bet an obvious monster for 3/4 of the pot instead of 2/3. This will be better and more profitable in most cases, especially at the lower limits. Opponents simply make too many mistakes and don't know what the correct calling range is.

In this specific case, you can also bet 25 cents. Qx, Kx, TT/JJ as a set, and any two-pair combination will call you. The flush draw will, of course, also call.

Turn
Well played and good analysis of the situation!
AK is very unlikely for the opponents, as they almost always 3-bet preflop with this hand. So we shouldn't include it in their range on the turn.

Since K9 is the only logical hand that beats you, you can't get out of this situation. In most cases, you can't fold with the second-best hand. Because there are almost always worse combinations that the opponent will continue playing.

This case is special because it's very obvious that any 9 completes the straight. Nevertheless, what I wrote above still applies. We can't fold against that one combination without good additional information about the opponent.
The only question is whether it's better to raise or to call. I would play it here the way you did, following the beginner's strategy.
The opponent will sometimes make mistakes with their two pairs, sets, flush draws, or combo draws. They will raise with these hands and then, against an all-in from us, they won't be able to fold and will call.

Of course, he can also play any K9 combination this way, and we will sometimes pay him off accordingly. But against his overall range, we are usually slightly ahead.
If you have information about the opponent and know that he is a calling station and only plays K9 this way in such a situation, then you could fold against the raise. However, you have to be very sure of that; otherwise, just go all-in, as you did.

Preflop
Played correctly according to beginner strategy!

Flop
According to strategy, this would be a check/call for top pair and a check/raise for the flush draw. We would then have to decide between these two options. Since we are playing against a player out of position (OOP), it doesn't matter how many opponents have already acted or whether we have position on them.

However, I would play our hand like a top pair and not like a flush draw and go for a check/call.
If we check/raise, better Ax combinations will certainly have problems. But especially at the lower limits, top pairs are often overplayed. This means they rarely fold on the flop, and even if we bet again on the turn with a flush draw, they will still call with their top pair.
So we can assume that a check/raise on the flop would only cause weaker hands to fold and better hands to continue playing, while we wouldn't get any better hands to fold. That wouldn't accomplish anything. Check/call is the correct play.

Turn
Since we relinquished the initiative on the flop, we don't treat the bet as a donk bet, but simply as a regular bet. Nobody has the initiative anymore on turn, till BB bets.
According to beginner strategy, this is simply a call. From an advanced perspective, one could certainly argue for a raise. There are still worse hands that would call a raise to 40 cents, like Mid Pairs (77, 88 ,99, JJ, 89s, Flush Draw) and our raise has the advantage that we will have the initiative on the river, and it sometimes happens on the turn that either both players fold, which is fine for our hand, or at least the player who has position on us folds, and we only have to play against the big blind.
If we then have the initiative on the river, we can simply check any river card that isn't an Ace or a :spade:.
A raise therefore makes the game easier for us. If you don't yet understand this, then it's okay to simply call.

River
Played correctly according to a beginner's strategy!
However, from an advanced perspective, this is a fold. The big blind should almost never bet into two players with a hand that we can still beat. If we're lucky, there's a split pot against another top pair.
However, the opponent could be holding AQ/AJ, a strangely played Tx., a strangly played Full House/Quads. Or he now has the completed straight with KQ and isn't betting bigger because he's afraid of a full house.

But those were just the thoughts regarding the big blind. The CO is still to act after us, which makes it an easy fold. Against both ranges, being sandwiched between them, and not knowing what the cutoff will do after us if we call, we don't look good.
The cutoff could now raise with a monster hand, then we won't even see the showdown. But that doesn't matter, since it's enough if he simply calls with the better hand and we lose.

Guten Morgen zusammen,
nach längerer Abwesenheit mal wieder eine Hand von mir zur Diskussion:

Ich gebe Villian nach dem 3bet-call und x/c am Flop auf dem Turn durch die Donk noch folgende Range:

Board: Q♦8♥8♠ 6♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     38.26%  38.26%   0.00% { QQ, 88, AQs, KQs, QJs, 98s, AQo, KQo }
BU     61.74%  61.74%   0.00% { KhKc }
