Calling is fine here. You're 230 bets deep and whilst you have the button, you also have a shortstacker in the big blind. It's possible he will 3 bet (even though a passive player) which would be an amazing result for you.
If CO calls the 3 bet, you can then MIN 4 bet (which reopens the betting and allows BB to shove preflop). If CO calls again you get to 6 bet to $32 preflop which is job done.
If however you 3 bet preflop none of this happens and you are more likely to give away your hand before it matters. Of course if you have been liberally 3 betting light while 200 bets deep and in position, then go ahead and 3 bet here.
Basically whether to 3 bet or not in this spot depends on your stats, not your opponents and you didn't include your stats in the post.
