The main problem is that you will face against a lot of similar multiway situations on plo2.
I may right if i say your opponents were fishes if i look at their random stack sizes.
I dont think preflop call would be a bad line bc UTG and MP wont play limp/fold and BB get the correct odds to call (even if he does not know about it :f_biggrin:). If we hit our flush or nut straight we will have a good chance to win their stacks bc of their lack of knowledge.
Because of the facts i wrote i like the flop check because i dont think that we can win the pot on the flop 4way.
Turn is ok.

AQ87 isn't a very strong hand at all, and having the 3 hearts in your hand really reduces the chances that someone else will make a heart flush AND pay you off on a board where the flush hits.

The fact that the correct play on the flop is to check and how you have to fold the turn is a highlight of why we don't play hands like this in the first place. It's hard to get money in to the middle of the pot while we are ahead but when we're behind we can easily call and put money into the pot chasing a flush or outside straight.

I would just go ahead and fold it preflop.

What if the pot was HU instead of multiway? Do you still think that folding is the best line, only because we have position and the suited A (i open pretty much any suited A from the BTN atm).

Also I spoke to some other people about this hand and someone mentioned that because sets are unlikely (people don't normally limp KKxx) then its probably more correct to cbet this flop rather than check behind.

What are your thoughts?

The problem with betting is that you have 7 outs to the nuts and maybe 2 outs to give you trips which will also be good enough.

Add to that, that you have the Ace and Queen of hearts when you bet this flop you are hoping that a jack high flush draw or worse calls your bet (so that you get paid off if you hit).

Against passive calling stations I just don't like betting because of the 36 of 45 turn cards we have to either give up if someone bets into us or face some sort of tough decision (like if an ace hits or a queen) and of course if we do get checkraised on the flop, it would be correct to fold as well since we will have around 32% equity against a set.

By checking if we do hit our flush we have a chance of getting paid off (since most expect you to bet a nut flush draw on the flop) and someone with a straight might pay us off who would otherwise fold to the flop bet. We can still get money into the pot after checking this flop because we're in position. However we can save money the times the turn card is bad by checking back this flop and seeing what develops. Remember that our opponents are only 50 bets deep (with the exception of the BB), we don't have to build the pot up on the flop with marginal hands, we can still get stacks in by the river if we hit.
