So far the bigggest leaks seem to be blind play and river call efficiency.

Put it back here

Yeah you just burn money on the blinds by calling way too much. with the River call efficiency, you just go valuetowned by players a lot I think

Don't want to discuss why I did it what I did it but had pretty solid reads on him. thought that is pretty funny to get berrated by someone with 1bb winrate on nl50 :f_biggrin:

LOL if he offers you crossbooking again TAKE IT hahaha! omfg what makes a guy like this say such things. Don't see how you did anything wrong! I know, with play like his and his last few months results his tool behaviour makes sense. I would have JUMPED at the chance for HU as well. Nice work, nice takedown.

I didn't know what crossboking means . I tried to google it whille 18 tabling and it was hard :f_mad: .
Could play HU but not when I mass table. I tried even to be nice vs regfish which isn't common cause I usually try to tilt them :f_biggrin: .
Still doubt that the crossbooking would take a place. He seemed to be the Internet tough guy or the so called chat hero .

Gerv I figured today that there is a railing thread in the staking forum so I will update you there instead here. Just will be easier and clear to do that there:

He does seem to be a likely big mouth. Tilt much? I am sure it is +EV to continue with chatting with him and let him do his thing. Whether you try to tilt him or not maybe depends on how you take his personality? Some might also factor in that such conversation can also scare the really bad players from giving you action but I'm not sure, some of the weak players are just bad. I would probably ask him about the heads up match again one day ;)

Had a guy challenge me to 1000NL HU the other day and he harassed me. Tried to humiliate me. Flamed me bad. In a rebuy satellite to $109 ANZPT main event package qualifier which I won. (Donked out in 17th place main event qualifier) All I did was say that all players from all countries are free to sit and play after he was making discriminatory remarks towards the scandinavian and german players, something I think all poker players should be intolerant of. Typical loudmouth Australian player. After I looked him up I made the table, Apollonia IV (I think is the name) and waited for 30mins with him saying he "couldn't find the table"... But did any of that stop him donking his stack to me in the tourney? Nope!

Yeah I know but lately I was runing extremly bad and my focus is on not to tilt. Additionally I have the sh project going on and I am frsutrated quite a bit. I mean at least I spotted my leaks so I know what I should work on.
Microgaming is weird. People don't fold to 3b at all same squezzes I got rebluffed in weird spots etc. Just it is really hard for me and people push me to the corner. Yet one thing I noticed hat people don't bluff me that much in river spots and I am loosing there a ton of money. Just need to work on it.
Just I have many things to work on deffo I am not winning sh reg and doubt that I am winning fr reg anymore. Just no point in blamig variance just I need to learn as much as posssible and focus on playing A-game which is a dream lately.

Running break-even for like 50k hands hit my game really hard. I don' t bluff in rights spots I call in spots where I shouldn't and so and so on.

I won't play some break even regfish to prove him sth. My focus now is on playing better.

Yesterday Zoom Poker appeared on pokerstars test server. Looks awesome.Additionally it would allow me to grind shit ton of hands/h so I would just grind my ass of and finally get the supernova cause now with platinium star only it is getting really bad with SN every time I have no winnings I would get at least some rakeback from SN,
Hopefully they will release it soon for real money games.

Yeah you're doing the right thing really. Stay focused on grinding and doing what you do best. You have a pretty clear goal with wanting to get to supernova RB. The games can be crap and variance sucks. I ran ok in the last few days but yesterday I lost like 200bb super fast. Flopped the nuts every time only to lose huge pots. Bad month really, but oh well.

On the NL level, played quite a few hands at stars fullring tables, I was really fishing with some regfish players at 25nl and 50nl. Found a number of fairly crappy players really. A couple of pure maniacs too which was nice. Gives me hope there are still plenty out there that WANT to top you up. Ultimately felt unlucky as the flips didn't go with me, and i got flush over flushed 3 times.

I took small break in order to learn a lot. Simply I haven't really develop as a player for a long time. So I need to rethink my own goals.

I made some simple plan. In order to achieve sucess and finally move up to midstakes in max 6 month I made mid term plan.

Goals

:club: Review my play at least key spots (1.5h/day)

:diamond: watch wideos/hand review hands from forums (3h/day)

 playing poker at least 4.5h a day (3 sessions x 1.5h)

:spade: Monday as a Day off

I figured out also punishment if I won't make one of the goals. It will be additional 5km running at the gym. While I really like sport currently I am heavily overweight so firstly it will be hard to run so much secondly it will make me healthier person. Win-win situation.

Additionally I started watching/listening to/reading self-improvement related books/audiobooks/vids.
Currently listening to Brian Tracy The power of Self Discipline.

So basically simple plan/simple goals hopefully I will have discipline to keep with my goals.

Good idea you got going there. I think having a schedule is good in helping to achieve a goal. I especially like the running punishment. You're right to identify physical fitness as important. Even though what we do is seen as lazy and sloblike, that fat geeks sit here and do this, a person's mental capacity is greater when they are physically fit and healthy. Trust me, I'm a medical scientist. I guess this is a nudge for me to get up and go do some exercise. Realistically, I can even imagine a player's winrate going up as their physical fitness increases and their enjoyment for life also increases.

My schedule lately has revolved around getting in around 100k hands a month, or rather, rakeback in the region of 10k a month. Money to survive basically. Sometimes I just do 20hr straight sessions because the games are good. All this leads to sleep deprivation. Too much playing, not enough hand review. Realistically there's not much to review for my games though. Have been putting in a lot of hours into NL cash study and MTT study. Might be turning the corner as I been finishing ITM more consitently and final tabling again. Nl cash games been harder for me, only turned a small profit on them this month and only played about 10k hands. Maybe they'll soften up some next month :)

Nah when we discussed it you told me you manage your tilt quite well. I guess even given how much you are able to play it is true.
If I were you I would just go straight to Omaha or MTT simply the biggest amount of dead money is there.
I doubt that it is the best idea for you to play nl holdem. It is simmilar to fixed limit but still. Just you play for the same reason as me so mostly for the money and it is really hard nowadays to make that money in nl holdem.
Currently I am working really hard on my game and I am motivated. To be honest I haven't been playing that much due to that.
However if my tilt issue end somehow or I will manage it better I am going to take a shot on Omaha games. Way more intersting, way more action, way monre money but way bigger swings :f_frown:

Yeah the games suck. Surely there is always going to be $$ at noseblee.d stakes for those that go get it. If the poker sites do something about the broken games. Maybe there won't be. It's something I can aspire to. I want to play every game, to be sure, but hopefully roll swells up fast so that I can. In the meantime I keep grinding. Currently left paying the ultimate price for having very little respect for my bankroll

Being process oriented

So far it has been the biggest downswing in my poker careeer (so at least 1.5 year when I took poker seriously). The funny thing is that I haven't been working so hard with my poker too. I still do penty mistakes but I am really way more happy with my play just the results look exactly oposite (or at least I assume it is like that cause I don't look into the cashier). New month same bulshit.
One hand from today prettty much sums it up:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
Hero ($50.25)
BB ($48)
UTG ($52.76)
UTG+1 ($50)
UTG+2 ($30)
MP1 ($50)
CO ($54.50)
BTN ($50)

Dealt to Hero K♥ K♣

fold, fold, fold, fold, CO raises to $1.50, fold, Hero raises to $5, fold, CO calls $3.50

FLOP ($10.50) 7♠ 5♦ 2♥

Hero bets $6.02, CO calls $6.02

TURN ($22.54) 7♠ 5♦ 2♥ 5♣

Hero bets $12.92, CO calls $12.92

RIVER ($48.38) 7♠ 5♦ 2♥ 5♣ Q♣

Hero bets $26.31 (AI), CO calls $26.31

Hero shows K♥ K♣
(Pre 81%, Flop 91.6%, Turn 95.5%)

CO shows Q♠ Q♦
(Pre 19%, Flop 8.4%, Turn 4.5%)

CO wins $98.50

It has been like that pretty much since end of January (or when I created that blog-blog curse _cry: ).

One thing that makes me scary is that I started playing to passively sometimes (e.g. calling KK pre vs 3b, or playing set passively on heavy drawy flop).

I am finishing The Mental Game of Poker from Jared Tendler did big progess already but there is still a lot of hard work to do.

The worst thing is I made a staking deal with Gerv where I play sh games on microgaming. Instead of playing I learn a ton and just grind a little. Plan was to play 100k hands within 2 months now it seems to be long road to achieve it and way more time. Kinda sucks cause I didn't give Gerv a choice cause given that I am in the middle of clearing some bonuses etc he has to wait and hope that I will be able to make some profit. _cry:

Current plan is really simple. Learining a ton and slowly increasing the volume. Wish me good luck cause deffo I need it now.

Possitional stats:

I am not winning yet but at least I am break-even (EV wise). Leaks, leaks, leaks everywhere. Deffo calling to many 3bets IP with dominated hands e.g. AJo, 54s and hitting domintaed draws,2pairs etc. So there is huge leak.
+ I am not winning enough on cutoff and BTN (~20bb Ev wise so don't use position well enough).
Also I am not planning my hands like calling min R on T without a plan if I want to call/fold River end up usually with calling T folding River which is really bad.
So plan is to still work on my game and start winning EV wise hopefully i will be able to achieve that. Wish me GL.

You're doing the right things and looking at your leaks. Your hand example sums up your luck. It can't be all doom and gloom. I think maybe you aren't getting enough $$ in LP too, like you say. 19k hands is not a lot though, so maybe it's best to draw more concrete conclusions from actual hand review. You're not doing so bad at all, and surely it can only go up from here. It's good you've been putting a lot into your theory of the game, but surely you haven't just become some bad player. It's easy when you have a bad downswing to second guess yourself, but if your game is good you will get there. Best of luck in your 6 max games.

Go go go!!! :)

I guess I prescripted myself the same medicine - since both of us are both very ambitious and naturally aggressive, running should become proper way to reduce stress level and make decision-making process more efficient. However I prefer outdoor running, even if the temperature outside falls below 0 ;)

I allow myself to write some info here, because we have problems to connect recently. Pokerwise, I'm still trying to pick up my jaw from the floor but I can't simply surrender! ;) Mindset is everything in poker and is either the biggest advantage or the biggest leak. Fortunately there is always hope!
