Yeah sahalidis we have the same problem. Basially quiting/surending isn't an option. There is no room for failure no matter what the price is. _evil:
The problem with poker is that mostly people don't realize how variance can affect winnigs and how long is the long run and it is really, really long.

To be honest I don't run that much lately but for me my Karate is the way to go. So I will resign from the gym and just stick with karate (also some outdoor running just neeed to buy the sensor etc. you told me some time ago cause now I can't upload it to endomondo which kinda sucks cause would like to track my records)

However so far I am quite disciplined with my plan only had to run 10 km so far as a "punishment" for my laziness.

Pokerstars go fuck yourself. Seriously I haven't had such a swing in my life. It isn't even about EV but loosing with nut flush vs royal twice in a one session. Loosing every overpair in 3b pot. Seriously WTF is this shit. I even moved to nl25 just to win again and there is the same bulshit. FML

I don't know if it was such a good idea to move to pokerstars. I thought that playing fr will let me avoid such a thing cause my biggest swings were like 20-30k hands which is ok but this is a joke. Loosing every retarded pot possible.
I mean if I had supernova it woyld be that bad cause I would have at least emi decent rakeback. Now with platinium star it is really bad.

I've written code to simulate variance too, so I also approve.

@franeczek I've just had to take some time off to get myself together after an epic downswing. I feel your pain, but all this 'fu stars!' stuff is just not constructive. 70/30 is 70/30. You/we just have to suck it up and carry on trying to make good decisions. I hope we both start to run better. Good luck.

Guys I know what the downswing is. Just to know it and to feel it is two different things.
For example I have still a deal with Gerv where I play 6-max games. I put a lot of work lately into my sh game. I play realy great not spew at all. Just geting coolered so much it is not fun anymore. Funny thing that I am there running way above EV.

Additionally a ton of spots KK vs AA ,nut F vs royal flush (2 times yesterday on pokerstars, lol).
Seriously lately I work really hard on my game and I feel the difference.
I play solid B+ game all the time not rally spewy not aggro just really solid, solid play.
I was like 8bb+ winner on nl50, like 5bb on nl100 and know I can't even win at nl25 it makes me frustrated. It has been almost 2 months and I don't see an end anywhere close.
The funny thing is that I don't remember when I was playing so well like I play know.
Will post update for Gerv and gonna read Mental Game of Poker again.

Just to change a topic I noticed that I don't donk bet enough and c/c puts me often in really akward spots. If anyone knows any good videos about donk/leading I will be gratefull. I have access to leggo and cr also many old dc videos just didn't watch many of them yet.

Man, your recent graph is very encouraging for 6max, solid grinding. It's really hard to keep grinding well when things go crap, so you've done well. Sorry to hear your stars play hasn't gone well, it has gone crap for me too... Oh well. It's not like we can stop grinding, right? Hurry up and get to supernova like you're sposed to be at. I'll be there in a week! Oh wait, i got 28k vpp to go:(

Seriously dirtyibis I do understand that just I don't remember ever running that bad. It is not even about EV but just from today session 2x KK vs AA, stright vs quads, every fish that setmine in 3 bet pot has at least 80% equity to hit (twice today).
Just I see monsters under my bed and I am getting paranoied and I don't get enough value in obvious spots cause people seem to trap me and hit every fuckin time. It looks like that "I am sure he has a higher set or hit that gutshot but Frank think in terms of range. Against his range you still can bet/raise for value." Then bang of course he has the nuts 100% of the time.
Sure I was running hot for like last 400k hands around 10bb winner both sh and fr but now it seems like I would be complete fish cause I can't win. Now even nl25 regs on stars seems to good for me (and the last time I was playing nl25 on P* in May-September I was like 10bb winner)

Reply

Franeczek, I'm on the same situation as you. But NL25. I've been a decent winning player over 350k hands and suddenly my last 100k hands shows a loss of 17BI... (well with rakeback it should even up).

Nothing to do and move on, I'm getting jokerstars'd daily still.

On the side note I need to stop calling 3b so wide. I woked on it last week but today was again the day. I mean it isn't a problem on fr but when I play sh games I get paranoided and calling with medium strengh hands puts me in a shit load of truble. Seriously I lost today at least 2 stacks because of it while postflop it could be not that bad but the biggest problem is preflop.

I am not happy with my sh play last 2 days to many bad plays where I put myself in shitty spot. Just I am another shitty sh reg given my last play. So it isn't just bad luck but also many mistakes working on it just when I run bad I play bad and I don't learn enough cause I feel bad. FML

Yeah man don't fall victim to passive tilt and go all weak at the knees, it's the dumbest way to lose. You should expect to be a 25nl winner, and more volume should see the results come at all level. You could be me on a 0.3bb winrate for the month LOL. As for your last hands posted, number 1 and 2 just happen when you call those 3 bets. You get owned. Really bad especially if your read is TAGfish. The third one, as played is like, what value hands is he doing this with that u beat? But I have to admit, I have made these calls before. I just don't play my QQ like that anymore! Keep up the good work.

The problem with Prima is that there is many anonymous tables so given that I play like 1h-1.5h max sessions I have 100 hands at best on each Villian. However fish loves these tables so what can you do??

When it goes to playing nl25 on Pokerstars I am winning player there easily. Even yesterday when I checked I am 8bb winner EV wise. Just I need to rebulit as fast as possible and move to crush nl50 with at least 5-6bb cause I know I can cause I was winning like 7bb++ winner before every time I was playing nl50.
Just the money I can make on nl25 isn't enough and given that I play for a living I don't want to get into the trap when I am winning but only enough to pay the bills and I need to move up finally.

There should be Zoom soon my plan is to grind at least 6 tables just to get Supernova as fast as possible cause I overall there is a limited choice when it goes to legit sites but without Supernova every month with no profit almost crush me. I need some rakeback.

Decided to leave pokerstars cause couldn't play there my A-Game anymore. Just one big tilt so I need a break at least for a while.
Additionally had to end my deal with Gerv it knida sucks but we just have different expectations. Maybe I wasn't savvy enough to clarify it while we started. Basically I thought that helping/coaching stakee is immanent part of it while Gerv thought that it is more or less loan ,just with some variance involved.
Not really happy with some of things I wrote in e-mails cause at the end it seems that we just misunderstood each other. However it is as it is I terminated the deal just need to set everything with Gerv so we will be able to end it smoothly. Just from my perspective giving someone huge part of my profit with no addtional value sucks a lot.

Hm. I haven't wrote anything for a while here. Overall nothing happen just grind. Running pretty decent, got everything settled with Gerv so I could unfreeze like 1.8 $ profit from our staking deal.
Just made some post in staking forums so I will be also playing on P* (that way I am one step closer to supernova) so hopefully I will start next week grinding ZOOm . Deffinitely need to spend some quality time with HM2 and do some new pop-ups cause the old ones didn't get imported and I don't have new ones and that's bad. No way to play ZOOM without a HUD.

I imported it but somehow it is wrong. I am such a HM2 fish. I hate it seriously, I have very good computer and it freeze, still randomly crash and they completely changed interface. I mean WTF is this piece of crap.
Seriously some Elephant software developers started working with holdem manager?? Cause it is almost that bad.
There is update every couple of days and there is still milions of bugs in it. Why they released it is beyond me cause it is crappy and buggy as hell.
If they still fully supported HM1 I would never buy it.

Friggin crap. Firstly I would buy it only cuz there is discount on ps.com and bcs update for zoom is comming faster on hm2 than hm1. Now cons I am facing are, you are like the 5th person that has these problems and I have a cfg I would really really like to keep, cuz I know I will not be capable to rebuild it in hm2 and every other cfg will tilt the shit out of me. So I am screwed either way as I see it. But I agree, such idiots to throw away a good name they build w hm1 just to be able to compete in time with PT developers.

Reply
Quote

At this point I am pretty sure I will stop using Hm2 and just buy PT4 as soon as it will be avaliable. The developers from HM2 are just a joke. Just examples:
1) there is a problem with update for micrgaming cause hands aren't imported still shitty updates and no progress. It has been like 2 weeks + already they fixed it and then just fuck it up again.
2) The ZOOM update. Pt3/PT developers have done it instantly so since the beggining there has been a HUD and we still wait for HM2 hud not to mention HM1

Now holdem manager2 can only compete with Elephant. I mean crappy support, crappy software, updates taking months.

I paid like 100$ for this piece of crap. I bought it almost instantly after they release it cause I was like "OMG,OMG,OMG New HoldemManager so so awesome.

They had superrior software (HM1) and just fucked it up. Don't fix sth if it ain't broken yet they did. The result isn't suprising.

For me it is even worse after reading their forum they are disrespectful to their clients. I mean there is a bug, multiple report it and yet it take them 2+ weeks to fix it?? I mean WTF is this shit. It is even worse cause often the fix don't fix anything or unlock some other bug so they have to fix the new bug that appeared after they fixed the old one :f_biggrin:.

Seriously I could complain like this over and over.
However I have my own conspiracy theory I think that PT3/PT4 developers got a savvy idea and encourage some Elephant developers to apply for jobs in HoldemManager team. That would explain a lot.
