#University

I got some good and bad news from my classmates. First the bad news is that I still have to work my ass off to finish a report (self development portfolio) on Thursday. It counts as 40% of my grade for a subject which I do not have to do any examination for. Since 1st years marks are not going to be reflected on my diploma (have to double check), I am probably going to do not much for it.

Luckily I have resources available as I sort of did this in Rotterdam School of Management :)

on a good note, I heard that I have a 5 months holiday after my exams as my 2nd year starts in October
Looks a bit like this:

Spoiler

#Magic the Gathering

I have looked at the Pro Tour/Grand Prix schedules (like EPTs/WSOPs of Magic the Gathering with $250k+ prize pools) and seems that I can attend a few in my holiday. I am not sure if Vancouver is close to Hai's Toronto but I'm aiming to Qualify for Pro Tour Seattle in October, Grand Prix Malmo and maybe another one.

Moreover I will acquire a subscription to StarCity Games premium articles so if any wants to share the costs, PM me ;) it cost like 5$ per month max.

Constructed wise, I am going to wait for Avacyn restored to construct a deck, I might want to ask Conley woods for coaching as he likes Rogue decks too ^^

Btw the Theme of this block is Vapmires, Werewolfs & Zombie's and damnnn those Vampires are drawn as soft porn trading cards :f_eek:

I started my first session yesterday at a pretty late time so figured that my energy level is decreasing around 12, I could chicken out at that time or Rocky my way through another session.

Turns out that it went from Michael Telo to Dire Straits as I was just clicking buttons, doubting myself and trying to keep myself awake :( I gave it a 20% performance in my performance diary

There was one hand I want to have some opinions about, I remember the same spot when TT posted a hand in his blog and people were like ''how can you fold''

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $1(BB) Replayer
SB ($223)
Hero ($100)
UTG ($205)
CO ($100)
BTN ($206)

Dealt to Hero J♠ T♦ J♣ A♠

fold, fold, fold, SB raises to $3, Hero calls $2

FLOP ($6) 2♥ 2♠ 4♥

SB bets $4.50, Hero raises to $14.62, SB calls $10.12

TURN ($35.24) 2♥ 2♠ 4♥ J♥

SB checks, Hero bets $25, SB raises to $110, Hero calls $57.38 (AI)

  • Villain is Unknown at that time, perceiving him to be fishy, I don't like to 3bet this hand IP as my equity distribution ain't smooth & having >>>SPR is favourable for me
  • I raise flop to knock off a lot of his range as both Fish & Regs are not going to be calling with a wide range here. Maybe I should raise bigger but I don't see more FEQ necessarily
  • Now the Turn is a J, SB snapchecks, I wonder If I get value from flushses and or 44/2x by betting so I bet $25.
Villain responses by snap check/shoving all-in

I need 29% here, is this still a slamdunk with 2nd nuts? I would perceive nutflushes to flat or tank be4 raising.

Thanks!

22**/tp for sure but not like 2275 + he is a fish so sometimes he will complete those. I didn't fold but his snap check/raise was quite convincing it was close

One of my trading mentors has Twitter and tweeted I should buy EUR/USD with stoploss below a pivot at 1.3280, so since I had he last or second-last Trading seminar yesterday evening, I followed his advice and I'm looking sell it off when I reach he upper pivot for 55-60points profit.

Interesting stuff this trading especially with the risk mentality we poker players have developed when facing bad beats, nerve wrecking rivers etc. :)

I placed my traded at 14:14

I still have to use the trial of the HEM2 of Spreadtrading with more technical analysis :P

I also will call my mentor today to sign up for the Live Trading day on Friday which basically is a real-simulation of how they operate in trading. Like morning meetings, getting trades done etc.

I'm the youngest in the group surrounded by people hit by the recession or people contemplating being a full-time trader. I feel I have a big edge but I am not playing against them but more agains the big banks :P

FYI I got owned as it broke through the pivot and exceeded my stoploss at 1 point :f_mad:

Meanwhile I had to pick up my clothes at the post office so I took the bus, some nice (fake?) tanned girls with dresses but their shoes (converse sneakers) omfg :f_biggrin: hilarious

I mean if you have met spanish/italian/french girls who are obsessed about fashion then at some point u get brainwashed too lololl :f_cool:

Nice that you switched to the "real" Pokergames and away from 40BB Games :f_biggrin:

jjxx Hand,

you dont think people play their NutFlush this way?
I can remember TwiceTs hand but he got raised on the River. I think its bit different if you got raised on the River than on the Turn, isnt it?!
But if they dont play NutFlush this way and no Bluffs ist really a close spot, but I dont know if I could fold here. Maybe they play 42xx, 44xx, 5 :heart:3 :heart:xx this way.

JJxx hand:

i dont think i could ever get away from that hand for a C-note. mayube if it was for like 1 mill..i would tank for as long as i possibly could, probably before calling.

couldnt he play J2xx in this same fashion as well?

Yep Yep, I couldn't fold it but I have to find the balance between static analysis (forum) and on the fly (timing, flow, )

As I was sure at that time he was le Fish, I focused more on timing, flow but also looking at 'hmmm mehhh this sucks :P ' ofcourse when one posts these hands, one automatically assumes the other one has the nuts and 2) hero loses the hand

Nice to see someone to learn Forex here :) I used to trade for year with some small balance.. made some profit, but got unactive with it for 2 months due busy time.

It is way harder to get back into it after long break than poker. So moneiz where sitting there too long already and as now they will take some fee from being unactive i just withdraw my 4k from there. But intresting thing really to learn. Todd Gordon was my mentor.. who is yours? What broker you use?

I am slowly starting to get into trading S&P & EUR/USD as I am more of a daytrader rather than strategic/longterm. SPeaking about trading, tomorrow I have a sort of intern day where I can see how they operate

My mentors are Peter Brown & Bryan Noble from the IIFT (thats where I got their course from)

As for the trading platform, I use MarketSpreads.ie to trade for since they are Irish and they personally know them (safety of funds). I will use Trade Station for tech analysis though

After my exams, I will put more time into it as I have 5 months of holidays and Pokerwise, the traffic is quite dead in the morning/afternoon for PLO so it is pretty good for me to do trading around noon ^^

Hey gerv,

On the MSS forum section you said your next coaching will be on ZOOM so I was just wondering what you, and your students, think about MSSing Zoom?

I'll be looking forward to attend that coaching session!

Hey Gerv,

Re: JJxx hand

I think there are quite a few differences with this hand than TT's hand. I dont remember the hand exactly but I think TT was deeper than 100bb. Also I think TT had a 77xxx board not 22xx.

From villains point of view it's unlikely you have many 2's and 44xx in your range, so his nut flush is more likely to be the best hand (also you are not going to raise 22xx and can even flat 44 sometimes).

Also there aren't alot of 22 and 44 hands. He can play the same with 2J/24 type hands, and sometimes flushes if he is a fish. W/O a trimming tell on the snap check I personally think you at least have to call the first time again a relative unknown.

Let me know your thoughts.
