you could wait untill you have a valid sample, that is 50 000 hands, preferrably 100 000.
I have achieved 40 bb/100 over 20 000 hands so what does it tell us. That soon Isildur and Negreanu won't know what hit them?

I am just 3 month 18 and i work and play very much on poker.
My question is: Can i make a long time living on it and do I have to do it quick before it is to late?

Poker is a tough game. Study hard and do your best to learn and you will succeed.
A lot of people still think its like it was 8 years ago where you could just follow a hand chart and print money.

I agree to to everything of the above, but mostly to this... If you are complaining that everyone is tight that is the reason to learn that edge! It's not a walk in the park anymore, where you find idiots giving you their money... but if you're looking for fish, you will find them, not just today, but in 20 years as well!!!

You can definitely make a living out of it. But I will also suggest doing it quick before it's too late. not as if there is not that much time left, but online poker is not made out of concrete. Black friday almost ended it all.
I am happy to see that this thread is getting some response and discution. Many poster talk about having the edge which deviate from the original subject of the thread.
Poker is not what it used to be compared to 2007. However it is still in an amazing place compared to 1977.
Online Poker boom is dead but the poker boom is not dead.
Just play 2/5 NL or lower at your local casino and u will have all the fish your heart desires.
The game may be tougher overall, but there is a mountain of information out there to help improve, which wasn't there before.
Most [but obviously not all] people who think the game is now nearly unbeatable are the ones who aren't willing to put enough effort into improving.
I find the game tougher too, but by striving to get better I still stay ahead. I expect it's the same for a lot of you guys as well.
I also think that playing 80K tables at once (exageration ye ye) doesn't help you improve, so when the game gets tougher and the winrate goes down, we complain, what we don't tend to do is cut the table numbers down and relearn.
Finally there's the psychological effect of being a long term winner and suddenly not winning so much or even becoming a loser, simply because the gameplay has moved on and we haven't. I hear a lot of 'I should be winning, I'm better than them!' But I don't hear a lot of people saying they need to change their game to keep up. The ones who do will continue to benefit.
The game hasn't changed, the players have, which is as it should be.

Pff, what limit do you play?
There is still a decent amount of money to be won with poker.
However, for people that dream of making huge sums of money, like going from the lowest stakes to the nosebleeds, this is much, muuuuuuch harder nowadays.
Even if you are talented like Durrr, without the US player pool coming back to the world player pool (and with such a second poker boom) I dont really think we are going to witness people climbing through stakes the way it was possible years ago.
I don´t plan on quitting poker at all for the next few years exactly because there´s still some solid money to be made, but I gave up childish dreams of making "set for life" type of money.
