For value. If he has a calling hand he will call for 80% as quickly as he does for 50%. AA will be good so often here that 50% bets is just leaving money behind.

I would call and re-evaluate on turn. You have position and it's a bit early to chuck in the towel on AK yet.
Without read on opponent it's possible he called with a hand you're beating, but my plan would be to give up on hand if facing big turn bet and I was unimproved.
My flop reasoning would go, if he hit a straight, two pair or set he would check to the raiser and then raise over a board that likely has hit an UTG raiser range. He might well donk a weaker hand. It's hard to tell though at 10nl without reads or info.

beting 1/2 pot is enough to be AI by river in 3bet pot, I do not think they will call down 2 1/2 bet as lightly as 3/4 w 88-TT and they could feel commited or spazz on such river w such hands. So I think sizing is fine on such board. And I vould call River donk becouse of above reasoning.

In your hand JB I also like a call. You have a gutter and BDFD and get to see if or how big he bets on the turn. I would fold to a big 2nd barrel unimproved. No idea why you are considering raising.

Call and reevaluate on the turn does seem reasonable. I still liked the feeling of control that folding gave me. I could get used to that..........probably.

Quote chains again :f_love:

Yeah I can get it in comfortably in 3 streets with my sizing. Also maybe he floats his AK and never 'herofolds' his 88

No because a cooler can come on turn and river and kill the value. Our aim isn't to get it in by the river - our aim is to max value on each street. Most of the time in this spot the King kills the action. If we bet 50% on flop and a cooler over-card comes our ability to get any more value has gone.

On the subject of films of a nature/nurture theme, have you watched The Loved Ones jb?

Not one for the children or the faint hearted, but nevertheless it does have some merit.

I don't think the father is likely to be winning any parent of the year awards!

Not seen it but I'll have a look.

Here's my graph since I stopped making silly calls.

And here's my river calls.

Fuckity duckity, I know I'm running well recently, but I think I might finally be getting the hang of this. TT will say 'About bloody time!'.

Hey jbpatzer,

I wanted to ask you something due to the fact that you are math teacher. My friend is a big math fan and he is researching this part of math that is related to poker but aswell to roulette. He said that in the long run there is a way to earn money from it if you understand the math behind it. SO my question is : Is it really possible to make a profit on roulette based on mathematics(he explained this to me but and I cant explain it in english as well I didnt understand everything since I m not a math expert)?TY in advance

Best regards

The longer you play roulette, the more you lose. Tell your friend I'd be happy to pretend to be the house and play roulette with him, as long as he plays for at least 50K spins, and provided mrsjb lets me.....which she won't, but it's the thought that counts.

Surely the more you understand the (very limited) mathematics involved in roulette the more obvious it becomes that you simply cannot win money on it.

By limited you mean the house always gives you worse odds than the ones of the event actually happening, right? Like 2:1 on black/red when you also have 0 and 00, depending on casino.

Roulette wheels have one or more zeros on them. When the ball lands there, the house wins. And that's it. Roulette is for retards. No more roulette in my blog please. :f_mad:
