Thanks guys

As a consolation I will buy an Xbox 360 & Fifa12 as part of the Rewards program I have programmed in my brain to atleast devote some time to my exams

I'm already watching training vids and soon will sidebet (best of 3) for any amount just I as I sidebet any amount for Call of Duty 2 & 4 at the moment . I bet capped on Age of Empire 2, Civilization 4 and maybe CS 1.6

But enough distractions, let's gooo exams LOL

€70,000 is deposited in an account at 5.5% interest
compounded monthly. After two years, a sum of money is
withdrawn. At the end of the third year, the same amount of
money is withdrawn. The amount left in the account at the end
of the fourth year is half of the initial amount deposited.
Calculate the amount withdrawn.

My answer: somewhere around 26 090.76
The good answer: 24020.x

?? so I am like ok... reserach , reverse calculations... ending up in

Spoiler

@ Hai & TheShade, TT has most of the shirts in your size I think

The Exam season is starting tomorrow and the necessary mental/physical preparation is almost done. I walk in the exam room with a clean sheet of solid marks accrued from previous tests so there is no pressure, no fear.

Instead of playing Poker, I devoted my time in 1) learning my exams & 2) Studying Magic the Gathering as next week I will return to the competitive scene

I have StarCityGames premium which gives me a good insight in certain strategies of hall of famers having $100k++ in prize winnings.

Besides playing MTG, I also will invest in MTG as in card speculation. I love it when certain cards are worth 5$ now when I bought it for 50cents 4 years ago. But for every trade route, you have to establish the inflow & outflow. The Outflow is rather difficult because you actually have to sell the cards to someone in order to make profit.

eBay takes rake, another site takes rake as well and Vendors with buying list obviously have a big spread on the more popular cards altho there are some that are good reliable gold mines. There are risks involved so I will not invest too much in this segment.

Though the biggest gold card is Tarmogoyf

There is some history before the $40:

  • When Future Sight was released, this card was up for grabs for $5!
  • People mostly buy this card in a playset (4) so you mostly sell per 4
  • This card is not printed anymore so Quantity of Supply will slowly decrease (got knows what happens on Continent X with Inferno Y :P )

[Edit] I was wrong with $5, it costed $2 at first:

Tarmogoyf - the most expensive Standard card in Magic's history, charting in at a solid $50 at its peak. We began by preselling it at $3 each in April. It rose in price the first week of June to $8, then to $15 by the end of June. The top-tier Standard cards usually parked in the $20-$25 range, but this was not the case of Tarmogoyf. By July, it was $20. By August, $25. When we got our next last batch in stock, it was September, and we sold out at $32.50 within a week. We moved a ton more in October at $35 each. November brought a $40 price tag, and by the time the New Year hit, Tarmogoyf had hit $50 and we could not keep them in stock!

I was young back then so I was cashstrapped so I picked up the solid playsets that everyone had. Nowadays they are worth 4-5$ each so I got some nice ROI there if I cash them in

After I finished 2 out of my 5 exams, i will slowly return back to the PLO tables as I have to study less :)

Yeah I finished my Math exam today starting at 9:30

The hardest part was actually getting up from 11:00 originally till 07:30

I sat next to my russian classmate and she looked like this good old Secretary of you :P :megusta: but eyecandies are actually -EV

there was no pressure so I just grinded it down, bought some more icecream and went home :P

Next one up is Descriptive Economics (also no pressure since I virtually passed that course already )

[x] The Nutella Problem

Ever since Ingrid mentioned that she eats nutella purely, I have thought about my nutella problem. I used to eat it on 1 slice of bread but I dont buy bread anymore but I still have this 750g Nutella Jar in my cupboard :P

I think I fixed it by buying banana's and putting/dipping it on my banana ^^

All joking aside Today's Spoiler got released by Wizards itself for Avacyn's Restored

Spoiler

At the same time I have taken on a subscription on Quiet Spec regarding Magic the Gathering speculations. My goal for this year is to be breakeven in the trades I do with MTG cards so I freeroll with my hobby.

I will take note of all explicit/implicit costs on an excel sheet & be aware of european sites buying singles, marketplace etc. This world is definitely bigger than some years ago - Gina is going to giggle again - when I was young, broke & naive :f_biggrin:

I will start out small in investing/speculating and eventually I want to buy like 100-200 of the same card to generate revenue, I only have to find a way to cash them in :P
