Hooked on HU Hypers [Hands inside]

Had a nice weekend and got my mind off poker.

Today played some HU's, but still not running that good. But mainly played some tournaments tonight, which was fun again. The Stars crash made it interesting as well, since I was 3/69 in a hyper-turbo, but then we skipped a few blind levels so my 43bb turned into 12bb. Did manage to reach the FT, but got busted in 5th place. Also managed to ship a $22 HU tourn which was 2k gtd but had a nice $400 overlay. So was already up for the day, no matter what happened in the rest.

It was looking extremely good in most of those tourns, but busted when I was just ITM or even before the cash and had one FT bubble which didn't really give me that much. So made profit today, but it looked like I could get more out of it, but that's poker

Tonight I will play some more MTTs I think, for now I'll stick to the hypers and maybe some cash HU. I will just keep on training my rungood then ♦

I got bored with the cash games and just couldn't grind with the same players for several hours a day. Also couldn't get my mind right to play my A-game on 6max. Switched to 3max again on Ongame, but was probably having a nasty downswing which took away my confidence. Now with MTT I'm confident in having an edge and I'm learning so much from these HU Hypers. I might switch back to cashgame, but it's just not as profitable anymore as it was for me.

Yesterday played some tourns which turned out to go badly. Did manage to find a mincash to save the day a little bit. This morning I also mincashed a hyper-turbo I stumbled upon. Normally don't play this time of the day, but was awake and bored, so whatever.

Now playing some other tournament combined with some HU hypers.

Just hit a royal flush again, the last one was 2 weeks ago I think, so running hot with the royals ♦

Played 3 hyper-turbo MTTs today, managed to get ITM in all three of them. Unfortunately I ran like shit as soon as I reached the money, so made 3 mincashes, fail!

Also played one regular turbo, started nicely but got kicked out pretty quickly anyway, still playing another 6max turbo where I have average stack right now, hopefully I can get my revenge in that one.

Been 1-tabling some HU hypers and I'm so much more focussed, might stick to one-tabling for a while again to get much better reads on opponents and situations. So far having fun today ^.^

Holy shit... that was insane.

Was very convincing chipleader with 600k and 2nd place in chips had like 450k, with 55 players left. Then I get QQ vs AA, lose AK vs 99 and A5 against KT and I finish the tournament as 55th.

With 48 spots ITM, didn't really think I wouldn't make the money, sick

Moarrr update'aments!

Haven't played for a week, only went to the casino once to play some 2/2. Picked up some rungood and a little over 200bb. Started playing again this week and got.a nice upswing on the hypers. MTTs didn't go too well, did get some cashes but as soon as I was ITM, badrun started.

Right now I'm on my phone, so no long story or hands etc.

So haven't been updating much lately, just because nothing special really happened. The MTTs go badly and the hypers not very good as well. I'm still very unhappy with my ev-line, thus unhappy with the way I play.

Today was a miserable day where I didn't feel like I was in control of a single match once. In my HEM I see 6 marked hands, I'll post them all here with my thought process and will see what happens. Have no clue at this point what the hands are about and if they're even interesting, but whatever, I must have marked them for a reason.

Did notice that 1-tabling improves my game bigtime, compared to 2-tabling. But when I'm unhappy about my game, I don't really have the discipline to continue 1-tabling, which is a problem I should work on.

So I think preflop is close between calling and 3betting. Don't really like bluff3betting here with my 19bb stack against a somewhat aggro player, so I decided to make the call. Flop bottom pair and I expect him to cbet 100% of his range on this board, so definitely a call here. The turn improves my hand but also makes it hard to play. He bets again and I decide to shove, which was basically because I didn't want to make the call and face a annoying spot on the river. If I call and the river bricks, I'm probably check/folding and am not convinced I'll have the best hand often enough. If the river hits I'm not sure if I can possibly get any value from Villain.

On the other hand, I'm not representing much with a turn c/shove, besides a fishy-nutsline. However, I think he might fire a second barrel here often enough, even though the 3c isn't really a good card to bluff one, since my flop c/calling range isn't that strong. So I think I still have some fold equity, just like I have equity when getting called here. I think it's the most +ev play here, but definitely the easiest way to play this hand.

This hand was kinda weird..

I decide to c/r the flop because I didn't want him to check behind on the turn and give him the chance to hit some kind of nasty (backdoor) draw. But I do realise, that c/raising a Axx board will often look a bit bluffy. Now the turncard makes things really interesting, because what is his range at this point. I think he'll have a few Ax, but I think he'll stack off most of those on the flop. He can definitely call Tx on the flop, but those hand combinations are reduced by the T on the turn. And maybe he got some 4x left in his range, but there won't be too many 4x in his range. Then he can have some KQ, KJ, QJ sort of hands, who think have very good equity against my bluffy c/r range. And he might have some flushdraws in his range, which I think he should just shove on the flop most of the time.

Now what is my range. I think my range here is rather polarized because I would probably 3bet KQ, KJ, A9+ preflop. So I won't have that many hands for value in my range here. Maybe some A4, 4xYd and QdJd, but I won't c/r alot of Ax hands here (like I did). Then I might have a few flushdraws, but I mostly like to check/call them on the flop instead of c/raising and facing an awkward spot when Villain shoves all-in. Hate it to call a flop3betshove with only a naked flushdraw. I'll probably never raise Tx and the rest of my c/r range is probably filled with some air.

So when I check the turn, I show alot of weakness because my A4 is dead, my draws didn't arrive and I would probably continue betting my Ax hands. So my perceived range will look like air and some missed draws that are afraid of his Tx and decide to give up. In hindsight, I don't like my turncheck. I think if I c/r the flop with this hand, I should continue on the turn and just move all-in here. Flop c/r could have been a little bigger to have a better sizing on the turn.

So when he bets the turn, he'll have some Ax, a few of the remaining Tx and he will have some draws. Honestly, when he bet the turn so low, I shoved and actually didn't expect to see a fold here. So I'm totally not happy with the way I played this hand. Think I should have just check/called the flop here and don't build the pot.

Would be really interested in your opinions about this hand.

I think I played this hand nicely. Don't like to shove over his 3bet here 15bb deep with KTo. So decide to call and take a look at the flop. The 972r is pretty random and won't really hit his range that hard. When he bets this amount I think I can peel one off with some backdoor straights and 2 overs. Basically planning to shove any 8, T, J, Q, K and A when he checks to me. Might even shove on low cards as well, but not sure about that because I think my K high might even be good a reasonable amount of the time.

When he checks to me on the turn, I shove and expect to see alot of folds. And even when called, I still have some equity.

However, I can't really call many turnshoves if I don't hit a 8, T, J or K on the turn I think. So maybe I can consider shoving the flop as well, but I think it's close. Would like to see some opinions about that one.

This one not so special, the only thing to think about is to call his check/raise and let him bluff off the rest of his stack. Decided not to do this because of the drawy board. Also didn't want him to hit some random overcard and also too many cards that can possibly kill my action. Think shoving it in here is pretty standard. If the flop was rainbow I think I can consider a call here and let him barrel off the rest of his stack.
