We just returned from the renewed Damentag from Concord. Sick value tournament, 80 people played for a 5k price pool We booth managed with Ash to make it to the money (11th and 10th place) and than a it was a chop at the end so all got 400 euro.
And now we go to rub the money on our tities 
How come they pay so many people? Thats alwyas tilted me about live tournaments how they pay so many people?
Also if the tournament is soft how come you chopped? Or was their skilllllllllled players left in?

I have to say i loved it that they payed so many places, here on these regular tourneys they usually always pay bit more than 10%. Still like this one could cash more, than if 170 people plays it, cuz than they pay 18 ppl but that few last places gets just like 60 euro.
It is a low buy in (45 euro) tournament and the average stack at this very late phase is around 10bb (but mostly less). So its basically total luckboxing, who gets first the best cards will ship it. We were very tired and everyone was annoyed, like this all got what the 4th place would have payed - i think its kinda good. If i get the money what the 11th gets than i get 120 euro. On these small regular tourneys i tend to be in for the chop because the blinds are extremly high compared to the chips in play and we still get a nice ammount of money. It is just so hard to come 4th anyways.
Unfortunaetly I could not play this event, but now I feel really really sorry that I did not. But, I tried to catch up in the last days kinda much so here is a little subjektiv opinion from a railbird:
Thats a tournament! You pay 550 euro buy in, and the GTD price pool is 1 million Euro. Maximum 2000 players. You get 20k chips with 45/60 minute blind levels which are slow, and than if you make it to the top 200 you are already in the money. 2 starting day, and on the 3rd day itm reached. This happens 5 days later, so you can rest, check infos about the players you want to know ect. Than comes the nices part: they set back the clock to 500/1.000 Ante 100 when the lowest stack is 31k LOL chipleader is like 715k deep ♠_cool: and than the real games begins!
So I was wacthing the things beside some grinding session in the Concord, this tournament was so good, everyone I asked just said good words about the structure and the pool. I can understand it, here all made it to the money, happy faces. Of course the genius kitchen and the chef made their job very good and served for people warm yummy food. This started on friday, the field halfed to saturday, and today on sunday they already finished it. The highlight of the finalday was that an austrian girl was the chipleader 
And of course some faces from the local regs made it to the final table, to clash with the young generation i-will-squeeze-u-now, kinda funny. Than the one guy who seemd to be the best known in the Simmering (I also played with him already) seemd to proof his legend: he runs like god in tourneys (and than likes to spend it on cash...) had like very funny hands, with AJ vs. AK made it on a K888A board ♦ and had massive chiplead very fast with this run. When I asked some people who they think has the best chance on the final table, everyone said the danish guy, who seemd to play very good, played position strong and agressive, squeezd a lot, so he seemd to be the favourite. The girl felt out than unfortunaetly fast as our hungarian player also, and I think from here on the rest of the final table this guy dominated the table. The Aces got also broke which wanted to trap Mr.Lucky who could outflop them with what we call "banana" Falling out on the like this hurts ouch 
They started to talk about a deal, but I think chopping this is not so good here. Even if one has massive chiplead, the money jumps are so high!

2. place: 14,00 % 140.000,-
3. place: 7,50 % 75.000,-
4. place: 5,00 % 50.000,-
5. place: 3,80 % 38.000,-
6. place: 2,90 % 29.000,-
7. place: 2,20 % 22.000,-
The chipleader would have made a deal if he gets 200k euro (he would have get 177k icm) so the others didnt agreed. From here everything happend very fast, the big stack killed out everyone, they played a little short heads up and gute nach, winner photo taken, money picked up, wir gehen nach hause. The floormans could chill down a bit because running this and the side event is not easy with unexperiened dealers, but at least they had enough dealers and the organising was good, they tried to make it nice and it was nice. Slowly the railbirds went out, the security guy packed his genius dog and drove home*, the tournament room stayed empty and silent, and the regs kept on playing their regular tournament...
