AA setup or not?

Should this be considered a setup? Should i have shoved instead of raising?

BTN: 310 (0.5 bb)
Hero (SB): 7,220 (12 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A A
BTN calls 310 and is all-in, Hero raises to 1,200, BB calls 600

Flop: (2,710) Q 8 8 (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero bets 625, BB calls 625

Turn: (3,960) 9 (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero bets 1,980, BB calls 1,980

River: (7,920) 2 (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero checks, BB bets 2,400, Hero calls 2,400

Results: 12,720 pot
Final Board: Q 8 8 9 2
BB showed Q 8 and won 12,720 (6,515 net)
BTN mucked J A and lost (-310 net)
Hero mucked A A and lost (-6,205 net)

I would go all-in here, but I`m not sure of this spot, lets wait for hand judge to review. But I dont like your bet sizes , you should bet around 60-70% of the pot, on turn youre already commited to the pot so I would go allin there if not on preflop.

If the BTN had more than 0.5bbs I would iso push in this situation. As he has such a small stack size I would ignore him and play this as if I were heads up, in which case a push may not be optimal as there's a higher chance of the BB folding which would reduce the value that you would get from your strong hand. As it stands I think the pre-flop play makes quite a bit of sense.

I agree with angalius that your bet sizing seems a little odd. I would bet at least half pot on the flop and possibly consider a slightly larger bet to protect against flush draws. I would then have shoved the turn.

In this case you were unlucky that the BB hit a monster but in most situations I think this would have been a profitable play.
