Watching highlights of Super15 on rugbydump at the moment Waiboy.Some of the tries being scored are just amazing to watch.Was looking at the table with a friend the other night and am a bit confused i have to say.How does the play off system and wild card thing work out?

It works on a similar system to the NFL. There are three conferences (NZ, AUS, SA). The winner of each of those make up the top three places in the combined points table as they get automatic home playoff matches. The next three spots are taken by the next three highest point totals as they would in a normal league table.
The confusion comes when the leader in one conference (not mentioning Australia specifically) has fewer points than second/third place teams from the other conferences.
It may help if you just think of it as a standard combined league table where conference winners get automatic top spots.

Serves them right IMHO. I've never had much time for folks who won't stay and take their medicine with their team. And I've had tons of practice.

Completly agree and those tickets aint cheep either! It's like paying for a 3 course meal and leaving after the starter!

Is the Champions League final one step beyond for Chelsea?
The setting for Saturday night’s potentially thunderous Champions League final will be Bayern Munchen’s Allianz Arena. Bayern at home is a daunting task for any team, even more so when your team is depleted by suspensions and not at full strength. Chelsea will be missing Branislav Ivanovic, Raul Meireles, Ramires and John Terry. With this in mind a backs against the wall display reminiscent of their semi final victory over Barcelona is a must, if Chelsea are to stand any chance of emerging victorious.
Bayern and Jupp Heynckes, who’s hoping to become only the fourth manager to win the European Cup with two different clubs, are also beset with their own selection issues. Bayern will be without Luiz Gustavo, David Alaba and Holger Badstuber, all suspended as a result of picking up yellow cards in their epic semi final against Real Madrid. Defensive midfielder Luis Gustavo is a key player and will be a huge loss to Bayern. Heynkes though, does have the luxury of being able to choose between the wily Ukrainian Anatoliy Tymoschuk and the rugged Belgian Daniel Van Buyten, to anchor his midfield. The combined cunning of Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Toni Kroos, aligned with the firepower of Mario Gomez will be more than enough to exploit any slip-ups in Chelsea's makeshift defence.
The good news for Chelsea is that two of their central defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill, are both back in training. However, Flourent Malouda’s hamstring injury sustained in last Saturdays win against Blackburn, will be a cause of concern for Chelsea’s interim manager Roberto De Matteo. Malouda’s injury only adds to De Matteo’s selection woes and may prompt him to start with Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres up front for the first time this season. A season in which, both strikers have been on the pitch simultaneously for a grand total of 132 minutes.
Previous encounters with English teams have not always been straight forward affairs for Bayern. Overall Bayern have played 35 matches against English teams, winning 13, drawing 12 and losing 10. However, they have only lost once in Munich in 16 matches, including 10 victories. Bayern have also faced current Premiership champions Manchester City in the group stage this season, with each side notching up 2-0 home wins. Three of Bayern’s previous European Cup finals have also been against English clubs and all but the first – a 2-0 defeat of Leeds United in 1974/75 – have ended in disappointment, with the most famous being the 1999 defeat to Manchester United.
Chelsea’s record against German opposition is also a mixed. They lost 2-1 at Bayern Leverkusen during the latter stages of this season’s Champions’ league, but beat the same opponents 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in their opening group match. Of their 13 previous fixtures against Bundesliga sides, Chelsea have won 7 drawn 2 and lost 4, with all their defeats occurring in Germany. Chelsea have only won once in their six visits to Germany, a 1-0 win at VfB Stuttgart in the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League. The Blues however, did emerge victorious in the 1997/98 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final, with Gianfranco Zola scoring the only goal against Stuttgart in Solna.
The Injuries and suspensions incurred by both sides make picking a winner a rather tricky proposition. Bayern will be hoping that their home advantage will provide the extra edge required to beat an experienced, combative Chelsea side. Chelsea will hope that the pressure to perform in front of home support will unnerve Bayern. Will Chelsea frustrate, chase lost causes, refuse to take a backward step and emerge triumphant? Or will a ruthless Bayern go for the throat from the first whistle and try to finish Chelsea off, before halftime? One thing is for sure this final has all the ingredients to be an epic, unforgettable occasion.

• Bayern Munich and Chelsea have met on two occasions so far in the Champions League. In the quarter-finals of the 2004/05 season, the Blues made it to the semi-finals by winning 4-2 at the Stamford Bridge before losing 2-3 at the Olympic Stadion.

I would have given Kenny another 10 seasons! 
On a serious note....I think Rafa is on his way back. Martínez would be a good option too if he gets the time though. You need 2 seasons at least but everything must be done overnight these days.
Also agreed that it wasn't a mutual decision. I think he was told he was on his way after the FA Cup final.

I can't honestly believe that Rafa will be brought back.
CL aside he had a great opportunity to win the league and he got caught up with Fergie's mind games. Would be a step back IMO.
As for Martinez, once again I'm a say a big no thank you. Too young and too inexperienced. Yes - he's teams play good football but he hasn't done enough for me to get the LFC job.

Missed HC final unfortunately, sounds like only one team showed up. NZ media tended to focus on the Brad Thorn aspect so it was had to get a real feel for the real story of the match, although it just sounds like Ruan Pienaar ran out of wingmen after the semi.
I have read Brian O'Driscoll is confident the Irish representation in the HC finals bodes well for a first victory over the ABs in 24 attempts. The big question is does he really believe this, or is he trying to convince himself?
I've been nervous before Irish test matches/series before and have yet to have those fears justified. I'm not overly concerned at the moment - it really depends on what Irish squad gets selected for the series - I'm more worried if there is a clean out of the older players.
