Perfect example of regs winning regs, top of leaderboards being totally unaware of ICM. And yes, stts are beatable still as u can see.

With BB we have long history, know each other well. When he called i was : WTF??

Also, I'm not sure any cat would hurt itself much after falling from a fourth floor. Probably would just flick the dust off and carry on with its feline business.

When I was little I witnessed someone throwing a cat down the waste chute from a twelfth floor. When we got got down the cat wasn't there, so I guess it was ok. I didn't approve at the time but the kid who did it was a crazy cunt, so it was pointless arguing with him.

He had a litlle thing for rissoles, so his mum bought an electric mincer, so she could treat her disturbed son to some homemade ones. So what did the retard do? He had a bet with his mate that he could stop the mincer with his hand. Stuck his hand in it and lost 3 fingers. Swear, true story. I wasn't there but I saw his disfigured hand, consisting of just a thumb and an index finger. I bet the cat would have pissed itself laughing had it seen it.

I know this doesn't apply to this particular hand, but do you know how to set the negative edge when the bounties are in play?

no, never think about it. Imo worthless. Just play ur game. Add few more hands into calling ranges and thats all.

I don't think it's a terrible call. You maybe push any 2 here. If he does not call, you will push any 2 for the rest of the bubble. If he wins, he will push any 2 for the rest of the bubble, which will compensate the negative EV of the call in just 2 hands. Plus, he will probably take all the bounties. I don't call at this spot, but it's not so bad play.

lol, ICM plays HUDGE role here + he is out ~30%.
Also we got 2 randoms so what's the point of calling so big minus EV hand here? Maybe with AK/AQs , but still its a fold. Calling here with A7 is a play that bad players do. And i'll still be jamiin ATC vs him.

He's getting -2,77 Diff% from call. But if he assumes that he can make just two "any 2" pushes in the bubble (he probably will get more) he will make 1.6 Diff% *2 = 3.2 Diff%. He knows it's -EV call for sure man :) This must be what he's thinking. Or he overrates the value of the bounty. Strange call indeed.

i didnt calc it, and never do that way as thinking of how much he get by future atc pushes, also winning that hand doesnt guarantee him any bounties and 1st place ;)
Also A7s vs atc got only 60%. Imo clear fold without any math about FGS.

I'd love to hear pros opinion about this hand (less, tim, kurrkabin plz drop a word if you guys are reading my blog)

hi!

I made the calculations for that KQo hand we argued about and came up with some pretty interesting and surprising results, check my blog.

Hey, how's it going Herek?

I decided to explain my call here as I knew the hand made you mad at the time, and you seem like a good guy.

Whilst I'm obv fully aware of ICM and necessary calling ranges, you can't be so rigid as to say 'ICM is always right'. This hand is a good example imo.

It also never hurts to throw a few curveballs to the regs so they don't think they can just bowl you over every time they have a minor chip advantage over you (however, metagame is overrated in stts imo).

Anyway, what you failed to mention was that the other two players weren't 'unknowns' (not to me anyway). One is a mega-passive limpy fish type player, whilst the other one was a spewy uber fish.

I was therefore presented with a scenario whereby I could make a slightly -ev (on the bare face of it) call which would either a) bust me, or b) knock out the good reg at the table (you), and leave myself 3 handed with 2 players whom I know I can and probably will crush, especially with such a huge chip advantage.

I know you're shoving ATC here so I already knew at the time that if every player were of the same ability, I'd need something like 77+, a9s+, etc to call. (Again this depends on how you decide to calculate the 4 remaining bounties.)

So I called because calling here doesn't just gain you a flat chip advantage, it gains you a lot more when you recalculate future equity after this hand is played. Yes, of course anything can happen after this, and there are no guarantees of winning a single further hand. But poker is about expectancy, and in this case I feel my potential winning expectancy was increased by calling here, to negate the ev I lost by getting my chips in in what is normally a -ev situation.

A similar example of this is when you're playing a headsup stt against a totally passive, massively fishy, non aggro donk (they're very rare now but they used to be about everywhere you looked ). If they shove allin blinds 25/50 for 1500 chips, ICM (which is unable to take into account player ability & table dynamic) will probably tell you to call with Ax, 44 or 55+, maybe KQ, KJ etc. But which is better, to call now with some marginal hand and win 54% of the time, or stay in the game and realise your true expectancy against this type of player, and win 70%+ of the time?

So that's why I called. :)

ps, I will sometimes do weird looking stuff at the tables. This is because I'm either tilting a bit, or trying to keep myelf focused & motivated by making some more unusual type plays. I've been full time for 5 years now and it can get pretty testing at times :f_biggrin:

Cya at the tables and gl!

Hi dude!
I know whats your point, i just still dont like it, cause i have 800 chips behind :) and with these unk (fish) everything can happen - from what i remeber i managed to get ITM :)

I just said what i think about your play and maybe i'm wrong about it.
Intresting hand btw.

Cya at tables, and keep crushing like now.

LOL, nice picture editing!

I found today wasn't too bad. Plenty of fish and not too many regs apart from partykaemper and belthazorrr, who you kinda want at your table.
