Hey Ken,

I've played around 50k+ hands at anon tables.

My views on anon tables?

If I haven't put any volume in at the tables then I can play 12 tables of anon and just slowly print money. You can play very ABC and take lines for prue value and never bluff and nobody will exploit as they have no HUD etc, in a way it is similar to Zoom but without any dynamics.

The games haven't developed at any speed and you can also take ridiculous bluff lines.

I like to 3bet alot in these games vs players that look like regs, I also like to take absolutely ridiculous lines.

I played a pot there which was completely ridiculous, I don't have it now, but it started with me limping with aces UTG on a table with a huge fish and a few regs. Even though I'd been playing reggy these regs can't notice who is a reg or a fish.

So I limp knowing the first reg will ISO me with ATC and then the fish will cold call behind.

As expected, this happened and another reg called from the BB. I now re raise (they probably don't even realise I limped and think I'm the BB lol) knowing that the fish was never folding.

So I re-raise, get a couple of callers.

238 i check, fish pots, I jam 200bbs and he calls with 52

Is there any chance you could include your HUD configuration for download or give some sort of Idea of the ranges for the colours on the stats.

I have not been playing for a year or two so wouldn't know where to start with ranges on the stats at the minute.

Thanks in advance for any advice you could give on this.

Graham.

Hey,

Okay, a lot of people asking for this. On the weekend I get another computer back and will make a big post about the hud, all the advantages and what things you can potentially add and/or take away and then put up the configs and all screenshots for the HUD.

Hope thats fine bud.

1. How do you categorize Player's Note types: TAG, LAG, Calling station, Maniak, Rock only or do you have some more specific ones?

2. What would be the most common types of notes you're taking on opponents?

Thanks

Hey 13blackcats.

I hope your name doesn't bring me bad luck :f_biggrin:

I don't really write notes about players being tags or lags etc, looking at my HUD gives me a good indication.

I do make really good notes though, I made a post earlier in the thread about my ideas on notes.

First of all writing the date/game is generally a good idea, you can save this at the start fo the session so you don't have to type it each time.

19/7/2012 100nl 6max for example.

My HUD does alot of my notes for me, but I like to write specific things that can help me a lot.

For example people's sizings are usually a huge indicator of strength or weakness, either they bet too big, or they bet too small. But we don't know if this is strength or weakness, so calling off a stack will generally be spew, but if we can see once then making a note is super critical and we can 3b and 4b all day every day vs them as we know their sizings with strong hands.

These areusually the guys who come on to forums saying OMG ITS SO FKN RIGGED, THEY ALWAYS FOLD WHEN I HAVE ACES.

orlllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy mate? :f_cool:

People generally play AK really bad too, sizing is generally super large, so I like to make a note how people play AK asap.

Hey going back to the 3b flops idea what do you think of this hand?

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.10(BB) Replayer
SB ($8.41)
BB ($10)
UTG ($4.21)
Hero ($12.92)
BTN ($2.57)

Dealt to Hero J♣ J♠

UTG calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, fold, SB calls $0.35, fold, fold

FLOP ($1) A♣ 4♣ T♣

SB checks, Hero bets $0.60, SB raises to $1.50,

Spoiler

Hero raises to $4.40, SB folds

So far I'd been playing quite agro (3b was ~12% and was barreling a bit). Villain is a bad reg and when he raises here imo he almost never has it. Fd's would call behind and it looks so much like a weak Ax/Tx looking to protect or KQ/KJ/QJ type hand.

Or would it be a better spot on a non monotone board? How about betsizing?

Hey,

Why do you want to add more tables?

If you are still playing small/micro stakes then you need to continue to learn and develop as a player. Increasing to 12 tables won't help this, stay with less tables and really think about ranges in hands and try to put your opponent on a specific range and work out how you do.

Once you do this successfully you will naturally start winning more money and moving up stakes, its all about hourly and in general playing 12 tables will be a mistake for 95% of 6max players.

Hey,

I quite like it, we're only really going to get "bluffed" vs KQcx where they have monster equity.

If they have 10x then we can protect.

If they have some random hand then we can take initiative and win now rather than calling and becoming confused later

If they have Ax they can even r/f a good % of the time.

If they have Kcx then they may even call down and we can get to the river cheaper and then make a decision then.

Wouldn't generally advise to do 3bet bluffs on monotone boards but with our hand strength/blockers on this board it seems really cool :)

Cool. Thanks!

Meant to say made flushes would call behind not fd's but yeah had pretty much the same line of thought. He used up all his timebank so prob had some sort of made hand like Ax.

What about my sizing?

You need to have a HUD that is very easy for you to use and set out correctly, having too many stats does not make sense. It also differs depending on how many tables you play etc.

Here is the HUD that I use at the moment, which I really really like.

Name
Total Hands

- - - - - - - - -

Tot 3bet
Fold to 3bet
Squeeze

- - - - - - - - -

Flop Cbet
Fold to flop Cbet

- - - - - - -

EP PFR
MP PFR
CO PFR
BTN PFR
SB PFR

- - - - - - -

Tot vpip
Tot pfr

- - - - - - - -

Btn steal
Fold to btn steal

I then have all my stats coloured perfectly. The lighter the colours the more passive the guy is, the more red the colour the more good/aggro he us and the more purple he is the more of an absolute maniac he is.

Here is a picture of it in my HEM

not so much postflop stats like WTSD/WT$D, fold to check/raise flop IP/OOP etc.

Do you make the decisions based on game-flow/reads rather than stats?

thanks mate

Yeh, most post flop stuff comes from game flow and notes that I make, although of course for WTSD etc I just hover over my HUD.

As you can probably see from my posts in the thread I'm very much an advocate that 6max no limit is heavily impacted by a good pre flop game plan.

Cheers pal, that would be great.

Great thread by the way, you have re-ignited my interest in 6-max after having to take some time off due to other commitments.

Hi, just a quick question for you if I may?

At mid-stakes NL 6 max, are there any souls left, because you seem to have them all!? _cool:

By the way, this thread is epic!

Run good,

Mal.

I set myself up a Hud just like yours last night but havn't played any poker yet using it

Im just wondering since im only playing 0.01/0.02 and 0.02/0.05 6 max, is there an need for me to have a Hud like this at these stakes?

also huds like this just clutter up the table and its hard to see the other players stack sizes and bets etc does this matter?

Hey Patrick, holmeboy's post reminded me of something I wanted to ask.

I was wanting to ask your opinions of cb sizing is 3b pots on different board textures oop.

f.e. we're sb and 3b btn

board is dry,

I usually cb 1/2 OTT cb 1/2 OTR cb 1/2 (jam)

but how should we change the sizing on wet boards or mono boards?

On wet boards, f.e. Q :spade:9 :spade:7 :club: is pot flop overbet jam the turn a good line?

Hi, sorry to continue on the point, but I recently bought HM2 via Pokerstrategy promotion, and I'm trying to set up "the best HUD" :f_biggrin:

could you at least tell me how you benefit to add the PFR's per position in your HUD?? isn't it easier to have them as a pop-up?? or do you do it on purpose to immediately and quickly see their PFR per position.

EP PFR
MP PFR
CO PFR
BTN PFR
SB PFR

again: could you explain how you benefit from this info (how do you exploit this?)

I think you've missed this one sir

Hey Pleno,

Very nice thread. You mentioned earlier 3betting more on the flop against players that raises board where they don't rep much. Do you mind that 3bet semi-bluff where I commit myself if vilain shoves? Vilain raises cbet over 20% of the time (and folds to cbet only 27% overall). Even against a tight stackoff range, my equity is ok, but when I add the money I will win often when he bets/folds, I think my line is +EV ... Do you agree?
