my favorite poker player is Patrick Antonius... i always love the focus and very quiet look or pokerface everytime his on the hand. whether its a bluff or nuts or test bet... it all looks the same. i wanna practice that on real games.
<--- This guy.
But from televised pros, I enjoy talkative, emotional players way more. Even if they are awful players like DN, TonyG or PH.
I like loads of the top pros, DN is a great ambassador for the game, Ivey is the greatest player, Doyle is awesome, amazing he's still playing the best in the world after 60 yrs.
I like jungleman for just coming out of no-where and making it all the way to the top....
Back in the days it was Gus hansen.
But when i learned a bit more about the game, im not really sure who i would pick today.
There is so many good players. But i guess someone like leatherass or nanonoko.
And this is not even close to based on their person, more their (as tonyg would say it) HEART/commitment to the game.
The players im impressed by is ofc Ivey etc, but not compared to nanonoko and the others that have more consistensy instead of willingness/deep enough pockets - to just gamble high stakes.
my cousins friend,we were drunk a few weeks ago and his ego was getting out of hand
so i said id give him half the buy in for the sunday millions and split the profits:)
he won the jambag i love him and want to have his babies cha ching
Joe Hachem & JP Kelly. Both seem to come across as two genuinely nice guys and are great ambassadors for the game.
Durrrr. loved him in HSP s5, whole season was just about him owning rest of the table. Also the episodes of PAD where he got stuck 600k and made a comeback were just pure sickness.
Chris Ferguson, coz he managed to turn 0 in 10.000 in 6 months and 10.000 in 15.000.000,00 in seconds, what a pro!
Durrr, Galfond & Isildur.
Reason: Durrr because he is sick, Isildur because he is sicker, Galfond teaches me anti tilt

+1 Tony's such a don, class player to watch
'i have the heart and commitment to this game'
'I'm Gunna take everything you have!'
'you played that hand as bad as you could'
Don't even get me started on him and hellmuth

Hahahaha nice 1 sir, bolded especially.
For me it has to be Andy Black. I met him a few years ago at the Irish Open and he came across as a very genuine and down to earth guy. I've watched him play a few times since and he has always impressed me.
I wouldn't consider anybody my "Favourite player" unless I had met them. Most pros I have seen on TV come across as people I would not want to meet anyway - Tony G, PH, Durr, Mike the Mouth, and many others - all people I would be happy to cross the road to avoid.
Me, because non of the others will win me money and I trust me to pay me my debts.
