4bb/100 is good :)

I would start slowly moving up to NL200, in reality there is very little difference. Just table select well and I'm sure it will be fine.

I would try and play less tables initially when takign a shot and thinking alot before all decisions, sometimes people play too tight and if they ahd thoguth more they would have came to the rational decision and made the correct call/raise, and some players try to force things too much and think that because they are moving up to nl200 everybody plays like isildur and they need to 7b jam every hand, this never goes well :)

Take time, poker will be here today, tomorrow, next week, it doesn't matter exactly when you move up, just make sure you are mentally ready, your bankroll is in a good state and you feel happy about your game.

feel free to post as much questions about nl200 in this thread. I actually said to somebody I think I'm the best nl200 player in the world I really think I can put pressure on in the right spots and understand the game dynamics here so well, making dumb raises and 3bets here where they would get eaten up at nl600.

My main tip would be to try to abuse the tight nits as much as possible, put pressure on them and if they call the turn don't continue bluffing the river.

Make sure your HUD is ready and just have fun! I love playing poker with a smile on my face, bouncing up and down a little bit, listening to music and just having a good time, its not all about the money. Enjoy it and crush!

Awesome answer pleno! I am confident to say that you are in the Top 5 of those who made the biggest impact on my game here in PS. Thank you for that :)

Wow, that really means a lot man. Thanks so much!

Is it better to 4b pfr (then is it for value or do we fold to a shove?) or c/r flop?

Hi, what else do we know about the villain?

One common misconception that players have at small stakes is they have watched a video and then start playing their hand terribly.

In almost any nl100+ video every single coach would advocate 4b/calling here vs a button 3bet when you have raised from the cut off.

What we have to remember is that at NL10, they WILL NOT 5b jam light, maybe they do a funky 3bet, but in general they will never completely blow up and go bonkers.

Because of this flatting is generally going to be the best play at smaller stakes, if the player is a confirmed loonbox, i.e 36/32 absolute bonkers guy then its an easy 4bet for value as they will most likely call with a really bad hand and when we can put more money into the pot with a heavily dominated range then its a good thing!

So lets go to the flop, on here it doesn't look so bad right? 2 overcards, a straight draw, all lights are green!

Lets look at it closer though.

Lets say he did 3bet initiailyl with a hand like 1010+ AQ+

Here's how we look..

Board:

Q 10 8

Equity Win Tie
MP2 29.91% 17.25% 12.66% AKo
MP3 70.09% 57.44% 12.66% TT+, AQs+, AQo+

so from here it looks realllllllly bad. Lets say we improve on the turn and hit a King.

Board:

Q 10 8 K

Equity Win Tie
MP2 24.43% 4.83% 19.60% AKo
MP3 75.57% 55.97% 19.60% QQ+, TT, AKs, AKo

So when we check and he bets (assuming he checks JJ and the AQ (king is terrible card for these hands and he has position so can check.

This means we don't really have any implied odds as even the cards that are good for us vs the range that he continues with rather than his overall range that gets to the turn will not improve us and actually decreases our equity.

Lets say a J does come on the turn and we hit bingo, its now a one liner straight and it is VERY unlikely that we have good IMPLIED odds to get good value from our opponent.

Makes sense?

2. Do you feel it is possible to play more than 6 tables of SH Cash games at one time?
When I was playing, I used to play around 3 (limited screen space). I could maybe have managed 4, but any more than that, I just don't feel like there would be time to play properly. Too much action in too little time. I feel like you'd miss out on profitable spots because of action on other tables

3. At the lower limits, what is the best way to deal with serial multitablers? I know on FTP, I used to check out all my opponents at each table to see how many tables they are playing on. If it was more than 6 I would make sure to target their blinds and 3b them where I could, basically just pressure them because I know they are playing fit or fold and waiting for huge hands. Most of the time they fold to a 3b with low PPs, anything other than QQ+ really. Can't remember if I did the same on ipoker, but it seemes to work well. However, playing their nit style also reduces the action at the tables.

4. When doing well at a limit, would you recommend adding more tables, or taking a shot at the next limit (assuming we are playing 3-4 tables)?

Hi,

1) I'd say when im "in the zone" playing 6 tables is absolutely perfect, there's enough action for me to get turned on by sexy turn cards, but there is not too much so I can make lots of notes and understand game flow and dynamics

2) If I just want to put volume in then its easy enough to 12 table and probably win at 1-3bb/100 but from a playing POV and maximising my bb/100 it is a lot harder to do the more tables you increase

3) Just 3bet them, if they continue then they probably have something, if it is borderline they usually take the passive option and just check and give up.

4) If games look good on the site then sure!

Thanks for all the answers, although on number 4, I meant which would you recommend?

Although I think from your other replies, you feel like it would make more sense to step up limits and maximise play and BB/100 rather than maximising volume and slipping on BB/100

The first my guess of 30% was way off, really good exercise, I will do it in earnest later.

The second 'sexy turn cards' made me laugh so much!!

I have a slightly off topic question, hope you don't mind.

Do you make any real adjustments from playing SH to FR or vice versa and would you have any advice for people making the switch FR-SH?

Thought I'd mention this in case others don't know but there's a cool tool in equilab called 'equity trainer'. Where you can put in defined ranges and then try determine how our hand matches up against the range on random flops.

So using your example we put in 11% for villains range (can add/remove hands to make it more polarised/merged) and our own range (KJ). And equilab will generate a series of random flops will and ask us how much equity our hand has against villians range.

Only discovered it about 2 weeks ago and have been trying to spend 10-15 mins a day on it and has really helped me think in terms of ranges...

Is there any chance you could include your HUD configuration for download or give some sort of Idea of the ranges for the colours on the stats.

I have not been playing for a year or two so wouldn't know where to start with ranges on the stats at the minute.

Thanks in advance for any advice you could give on this.

Graham.

Okay, a lot of people asking for this. On the weekend I get another computer back and will make a big post about the hud, all the advantages and what things you can potentially add and/or take away and then put up the configs and all screenshots for the HUD.

Hope thats fine bud.

Any news on this yet mate? Sorry to pester as I know your busy.

Ok, so got a decent sample size, here is last 80k hands of NL200/400.

And then a 4-6 players graph

I'm trying to find out how to post a graph of my winnings vs one reg at HU, I'm sure he has ran 25-30k over ev, he is really bad, but just runs absolutely golden, its literally suicidally frustrating and he owes me around 30k slansky bucks!

Thinking of making a video of me 4-6 tabling him HU at 400-600nl for PokerStrategy, watch this space..

edit: wont let me upload, says only jpeg is allowed, but these are jpeg, beyond tilting

Guess time for some hands..
