I actually meant the complete opposite, but your reply was so good it rendered me very nearly speechless, which is a rarety indeed; well played. ♠_cool:

I always mean the opposite to what I say, except when I don't, in which case I probably do.

Outstanding timing for a home test series with South Africa IMHO.

Except for the fact that we can't seem to beat the bastards. ![]()
We need Usain!
Manu sweated me playing 5CD tonight, which was interesting. He asks lots of hard questions. The idea was that I get some idea of what I need to add to what I wrote for the book on 5CD for it to be useful.
[06/08/2012 01:18:42] EmanuelC16: hey JB, just wanted to ship you the probably bad news that there's no way in hell what you wrote for the book is enough the beat even the smallesy 5CD stakes...
[06/08/2012 01:18:50] EmanuelC16: that's imo anyway...
He's probably right, but I'm working on it. I then played about 30 minutes of NL25 and won 2 BI, which was nice. I was going to finish off by spending my 235 FPPs on a satellite, when I noticed there's another flavour of Sunday Storm satellite that's 210 FPP BI, pays 6/20, turbo. Just playing it now (fold/fold/fold, etc). Seems like more fun.
EDIT: I got my $11.

You do (I have never sweated or discussed 5CD with anybody before). I wish my PhD students did the same. They're usually experts at asking fucking stupid questions, to which I am obliged to give straightfaced, honest and helpful answers to which they nod as if I am some sort of genius, rather than just not a fuckwit.

I've labelled myself yellow on Pokerstars by mistake. I have no idea how I managed to do this, or how to unlabel myself. Yellow is my colour for nits.
Heeeeelp!

also for some reason it's possible to label yourself while you're viewing some hand history, i'd guess that's how you did it.
i thought that was a pretty cool feature so i just made a special color for myself.

I have now made myself a sort of grey-green, like murky pond water, because I think it makes me look enigmatic. Make of it what you will.

You wouldn't be saying that if he had AK here. Anyway, I was experimenting with playing a bit looser again. Wasn't entirely successful. I'll go back to playing 21/18 and grinding it out. Sigh.....
In the meantime, this is sooooooo good.

Hey JB,
On the flop I think it is a no brainer to get it in as he doesn't have 2 pairs and you block his sets indeed ♦
@ calling pre flop with SCs vs a tight range:
You will very rarely flop 2 pairs+. Instead you will flop FD (non nutted btw), pairs+FD, pair+bdFD, OESD etc.... And with the latter you will need FE in the hand. So it is a lot better to be against a wide range in order to be able to raise as a semi bluff somewhere in the hand. When you are against a very tight range you have virtually no FE, hence your hand plays badly post flop.
Does it make sense?
