A new day!
Yesterday evening i tried to explain i girl how to poker, but that didnt worked very good, so i lost 1 buy-in. No problem, but the next time i explain her whit play money
Today i'm gonna read 1 article and gonna watch the next video from Bogdan.
And i will put some hands on the forum and gonna watch to some and maybe put some ideas if i have.
Mental Game - Variance - Part 3
Again a good video from Bogdan. In this video he explains more about the variance together whit the winrate and how it can affect your results.
What did i learned from it:
Now i know that it says realy nothing that i had a winrate of 50/100 yesterday after 600 hands, because it is still possible that i had a lucky day, variance was on my side, i have a winrate of 1/100 and i was just lucky.
So the only way i can see i played good is to look to my hands and realy dont look to my results anymore, at least dont try to see a connection between my game and my results on the short term anymore.
So my plan:
Look once a month to my results. Than i mean the results as winrate/100 etc... once in a while i have to look to my cashier because i have to move up and down, but not in relation if i wanna know if i played good.
I think it will be hard, but i just have to think this alot and realy understand that it make no sense to look to results and than tell my self i played good or bad. result orientated thinking, it dont help me to move up and improve my game.
OK
Had to use my stop-loss limit
never had this on NL2 before.
I lost 10 euro, very very bad.
I realy was on tilt, i dont know why but in the first hand i lost QQ against a loose guy who i 3bet for the second time and he went allin. That was CO vs BTN if i remember it good. I called and he made he flush whit his AJ. Just a bad beat, but i was starting to think. I had the best hand, wtf what a luck and that kind of stupid thinking.
And the problem was also i played 9 tables so i didnt focus enough anymore.
The good thing i did was I used my stop loss limit and stopped playing ♦
Its my goal to fix my mindset and make it stronger, so thats a good thing about the session.
now i have to think about what happend, take a short brake and do a session revieuw.
ok, some hands from the last session:
This guy was 3betting like 9% in general and 13,3% against me in 200 hands. So i was thinking about a 4bet bluf ( i know that its stuppid to do on NL2, and better play straight forward, but i was on tilt
)
I think a walked into the top of his 3betting range.
And ofc i overplayed the hand after he called pre en called the flop i had to give up.

I just played a session of 1:07 houre and 552 hands
whit a winrate of 147/100
so i won $20.06
Variance on my side as you see

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
This afternoon i was happy when i played and lost, because i stopt and used my stop-loss limit.
This session the variance was on my side but the problem is, that i become happy of the winrate and i looked a couple of times to my holdem manager graph. I dont like it because i have to be happy when i play good. So still a lot of work to do for my mindset i see.
But it wil come, step by step
the only good thing was i stopped because i feel i got a bit tirred, so before i get losses i stop and go to bed.
but the cards played themself this evening ♦

What i'm gonna do today:
First take a nice cup of coffee ♦
Go to the video section and watching the 3th video from Bogdan about variance!
Taking 2 articles from the Strategy section and study them.
On the end of the day: Try to go for little run.
I realy think its +EV when i'm fit and healthy so i have to start running again, i didnt do it for a couple of months.
And ofcourse in between of al these things i will make some sessions and think about my stop-loss limit, my enviorment etc etc...
Mental Game - Variance - Part 3 by Bogdan
A great video, where he explains why you should manage a Bankroll management. Its all about the variance again.
What did i learn:
A lot of times when i went broke, i was thinking: I beat this limit so i can try it also whit 10 Bi's because when i play my best game on 1 table i win anyway.
Very stupid ofc.
When you go to the site of EV++ you will see that also a winning player whit a winrate of 5/100 can experience a downswing of 20BI over a big sample size. So BRM is so important.
I cant explain it, you have to see the video by yourself, but i realy get it now!!
The only way to move up is BRM
Tilt: Introduction
A general article about tilt, the next one goes deeper into the materie, so after a session i will gonna read that one.
Had a **** session
But i'm happy whit myself that i stopped. I realy think its the first time that i stopped because i know that i played bad. I only reached the 3BI down yet, so not 5, but after i played the following hand i knew i played bad, so i shut down the table.

So....
i read the second article from today:
What can i use from this article:
An Exercise
Make yourself comfortable before or during a session, close your eyes, and try to visualize, as clearly as possible, yourself standing up and leaving the room when the session is going badly.
Look at yourself from outside!
Don't picture yourself in the first person view, picture yourself from the outside, as if someone had taken a photo of you or you were on a postcard.
Imagine simply standing up, leaving the room, and leaving the situation behind, both physically and mentally. Repeat this visualization, for example, as part of the preparation for a session. In the same way that some actions have to be repeated over and over again before having the desired effect, visualizations will often have to be carried out more than once. The effect of repeatedly carrying out a visualization is that your consciousness registers the pictured action as being real, and in a sense conducts dry runs for the action.
Caution: Don't imagine the session running badly, instead just imagine having freedom to leave whenever you like. That is the important difference.
once in a while i can use the next exercise, look to myself and try to see if i sit right and what i can do better to optimize my session. Normally i dont like this kind of stuff but if PS say it works i'm just gonna give it a try!!
An Exercise
Picture yourself sitting in front of the monitor, not from the ego-perspective, but as if you were watching yourself, maybe from a couple of meters away and from a slightly raised position. You look over your shoulder: Look at the way this player is sitting there. How would you judge this player?
Is he still playing well, or is he making obvious mistakes?
Do you think this player is still in a good psychological state? Or does it look like he is already on tilt? Or maybe exhausted and tired?
Imagine being a friend or coach who's job it is to help the player who is sitting there:
What mistakes is the player making?
What advice would you give the player sitting in front of the monitor? What should he do?
If you were in his position, what would you do?
This short exercise can help you to observe yourself in a dislocated way from a certain distance, and thus more objectively. Don't underestimate the effect of this change of perspectives. This counterfactual, hypothetical situation is real for your brain and lets you gain new impressions.
just had a session of almost 2 hours, so....saw myself walking away didnt helped yet
because i didnt do it.
But i didnt lost that much.....now when i say it i realize that i look again to my results, so....stupid!!!
i have to do it on another way to learn it, maybe smaller steps.
From now till tomorrow evening i dont look to my results anymore.
If i make it to tomorrow i will make it 2 days and so on.
i was playing ok this session till i was playing against a agressive fish who i tried to outplay postflop whit a stupid play......why
