I played about 4h+ of HU today, mostly against bad players. I originally intended to grind 6max Zoom at night but just wasn't sufficiently motivated so I just surfed the net while waiting for action. Finally managed to breakeven for the month after today's huge win.
I'm up about 3.6k from HU for the month in 20+ hours of play. Pretty sick 
Seems that NLHE HU isn't dead yet esp at NL200. When I gain more motivation I'll start challenging some regs again.

Do you play 1-table HU and 4 tables of Zoom at the same time? How quickly are you able to decide if the HU-player is "worth" playing against and do you quit him otherwise?
I'm still figuring it out. I will play maybe 5-10 hands to figure out his play and then start to sit out on all my 4 zoom tables. There are quite a few tells such as min-3bets or weird buy-in amounts. But I think in future I will close 2 tables and leave 2 Zoom tables + 1 HU, I definitely can handle at least that much while playing A-game (unlike playing >6 Zoom tables).
I realized that there are way more maniac fish than loose passive fish. 3/4 of them have some 3-bet % of 25% or more. Loose passive are probably easier to grind down, but I just tighten up my range against those 3-betters and wait for some spazzing.
I know bumhunting is frowned upon, I often got pissed off at those who refuse my action in the past. But now I think I'm just going to think about the money which is more important. When I rebuild my bankroll and am feeling good about my game then I can think about fighting regs in the future (but I rather fight regs in 6max). I want to return to 2/4 soon (haven't played in 4-5 months) but perhaps I'll avoid 2.5/5 Zoom for now. The games run so infrequently and everyone there is quite tough.

2 nights ago I was observing the NL5k tables, wishing I was good enough (and had the money) to play in those games. Scout326 was sitting at one of the tables with a juicy 12k stack. Then I had a bad dream about losing 5k (my entire month's profit). I guess slow and steady is my new motto from now on, at least until I graduate and can completely treat this as my full-time occupation. I'm really tired of those -10k and -20k months
I suddenly had the urge to play NL500 Zoom today, after depositing 500 for my WCOOP 20% Reload bonus. Saw some green tagged players (fishes) so I hopped onto the tables and played for a while.
I played fairly solid, with one or two huge bluffs, but I got owned in a couple of spots. Will try to be more selective about taking shots now. Maybe I should play some 2/4 first before jumping into 2.5/5 (which is tougher than 3/6 IMO).

Past few days have been brutal after my upswing. Sometimes I feel like the unluckiest player around (but so do the thousands of microstakes players who love bitching in the forums or to their friends).
I ended the month with a pathetic profit. Should have been much higher, and I did lose some steam in the middle parts of the month when I started running really bad. I think I should try to up my volume back to 6h+ on non-school days.

Just curious why you are so attracted by NL500 Zoom. It is the highest Zoom limit atm and i guess the competition must be tough. What about NL400 or even NL200 in comparison?
Mindsetwise it might not be a good idea to play a limit you think you are underrolled for.
Same with upping your volume... it could affect your personal life (social, university).

@qwertz: not sure what you are referring to (hand 5?). I feel that you can't really make meaningful money without playing 2/4+. But yeah, mostly playing 1/2 again.
Running 7k below EV again this month, don't know why it keeps happening. I also have to admit that I probably suck at everything else besides the technical aspects of the game (which is my main strength as a player). Should probably get mental game of poker soon (should have done it long time ago lol)

You might want to check that out. I think you need to pay a monthly subscription. I seriously wouldn't mind paying 30$ per month but there needs to be good players sharing opinions (i would seriously spam the forums hard) and not withholding valuable information like in 2p2.
here you go, graph for 1/2 Zoom. 4bb/100. I don't think it's very high? Could be higher in my opinion, I think I have seen higher winrates from others, though I kind of feel that I am better than 80% of the regs? (or maybe not). The other 20% are those who play 2.5/5 as well and those guys are quite good.
Hourly looks something like 60$/h but if I took into account the fact that I was often playing fewer tables of NL200 at some points, my 4 table hourly is probably 80$/h with 25$/h RB
HU results were disastrous last month. I often told myself I'm going to just play against players who I have an edge against. Some Russian fish ran super hot in an epic 8hour match at 1/2, winning 2.6k in the end. Lost quite a lot against another guy at 3/6. I actually thought he was bad due to a mis-read (saw him check back Q9 on QXXs flop at beginning of match but my friend told me it was a good play since he's never getting 3 streets w no dynamic). Ended up playing him longer than I should have. He was an Estonian reg who used to play up to NL2k back in the day at FTP.
2.5/5 is also not going well for me. Ran bad (Lost 10k, 5k below EV) and games are tough too. People induce vs me a fair bit (like they check Turns with really strong hands as PFR OOP and call down 2 streets).
I don't mind playing jozef or patrick if it's NL100 HU though. Not any higher - I'll just get slaughtered. May contact you guys soon if I feel like it
I think I still feel ok with bluffing and being the aggressor. My balls shrink when it comes to hero-calling though. I made some stupid bluffs with the best hand and had some cool results.

Here I was like "Fuck it lets just push him off a hand like JJ". In retrospect it's such a stupid play.
2) I remember another hand where the board was like T56r2T, I c/c Flop with K7 with some backdoor flushdraw and overbet 120% of the pot on the River. Trying to push him off some small pair or Ace high by repping a T. Got looked up by K3 or something like that.
It was after these 2 hands that I realized so many of my assumptions were wrong about others. Also realized that this should be the way I was playing poker - Having balls to call down when you think you have the right odds to hero-call. So far I have been getting pushed around by some aggro fishes who love to overbet.
