I has internet.

I also got a cushty 32" TV for my birthday which im itching to use as a 2nd monitor on my laptop but have NO idea how. Any nice soul out there know which cables ill need to hook it up? I already use an external monitor but that's as easy as plugging it into my laptop I wanna play pokah on my TV!

Oh and I also played my first live tournament in over a year last night at the casino. Felt sooo good to be back playing live action, definitely gonna be getting back into it properly ~3 nights a week once my student finance flows into my bank and I can do it right with a bit of BRM.

£40 FO, one re-entry allowed. Think there was 47 runners with about 20 re-entering. Cut a long story short I finished 5th for £170 which im a little disappointed about seeing as I went out on a 60/40 for the massive chip lead on a pretty soft table. In fact, every table I played on was stupidly soft and when I had chips it was pretty fun being in so much control of the table.

TVs aren't as good as monitors when using as a monitor, I believe the refresh rate is too low which makes everything blurry and shit quality. But if you want to try it surely all you have to do is plug a HDMI cable into the TV and laptop and set up as an external monitor?

Yeah cheers man it's all set up, roommate had a spare HDMI cable and yeah was just as simple as plugging it in The quality isn't perfect but it's still spot on to play on. Can comfortably fit 16 tables all tiled with everything nice and readable. Beats stacking! I'd take a picture and upload my new setup but I broke my phone on a night out last night (oops) so that'll have to wait :f_biggrin:

So I haven't played poker properly all Summer, kinda sucks but it's been a pretty good Summer as a whole so I guess I can't have any complaints.

I am now back in the games though. Now i've got my internet sorted in my house and a TV which I can comfortably tile 16 tables on (pics of new setup tomorrow if I can be bothered) there's no stopping me.

Deposited a lowly $100 yesterday and am 16 tabling FR on Stars again, my bread and butter game I guess. That means I am grinding NL5 for now, but time to put ego aside and grind from the bottom like i've done before. Aggressive BRM and shots should mean i'll move up pretty quick. I am due like ~$500 from Full Tilt Poker, when I get that back ill hopefully be up playing NL25 on Stars as that's a good couple of month away yet probably, so that injection of cash can boost my roll to shoot NL50. That's the plan anyway. Graph of last 24 hours:

I am gonna be reallyyy busy over the next few month though, what with working every Monday-Friday evening and uni starting back up in a couple of weeks. But there's something very wrong if I can't find at least 2 hours a day to grind, which is a good ~1.7k hands off the top of my head.

Oh and here's the funniest talent show audition ive ever watched. Brilliant.

10k hand update. Not bad volume over the last 6 days (since I deposited). Happy with over 10k hands while working 40 hours this week.

Reducing my hours at work as of next week and will be working 17:30-22:30 Monday to Friday rather than starting at 15:00 each day. In the next 7 days I hope to play at least 15-20k hands and hope to be back playing NL10 or at least in the process of taking shots. I promise ill upload a pic of my setup soon too!

So took first shots back at NL10 late last night. About 1k hands last night 12 tabling, same again today. Went like a dream..

Biggest pot thus far, in terms of $$ and bb. Reality is I should have folded, was an absolute crying call on the river. But he was an absolute whale and against this opponent i'd call again, just can't see any[/v] value hand shoving.

I've tried Zoom, a lot. While it's good for volume, the FR tables aren't even close to as soft as the regular FR tables. Plus regular FR tables are my 'bread and butter' game I guess, which is the game i'd most like to develop and crush at this point in time.

@summermonkey, if only

Mini update:

Played ~2.2k hands yesterday at NL10 and was up 9 BI. Plus another $11 from winning a 235FPP satellite, so $100 day That puts me to around 30 BI for NL10 so more than comfortably rolled for it now. Next stop, NL25..

Sup guys.

So im 11 days deep since sticking $100 on, still playing good and running even better. Happy with my volume, over 3k hands today as well as my normal shift at work.

Graph thus far in bb, first 11.5k hands NL5 then the rest NL10.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Yep, that equals a cushty 15.77bb/100 overall and well ahead of pace :f_biggrin:

I realise im running extremely well, but staying focused. Decided in order to maintain that focus im not gonna look at results until im at 25k hands or it gets to the end of Sunday, whichever comes first.

September

Poker-wise, my September began on the 15th, as I hadn't played properly in months before that date. Deposited ~$100 and hit the NL5 FR tables; just over 2 weeks later, im comfortably rolled for NL10 and considering shots at NL25. September graph:

Not much else to report really, other than turning 21 midway through the month. Getting old :(

October should be an interesting month. I'm back for my final year of uni this week, so juggling that with working 25-30 hours in a bank and my rekindled passion for poker, things are gonna be pretty hectic. Can't wait, I like to keep busy.

Poker plans for October? Be comfortably rolled on NL25 by the first week of November so once my FTP money (about ~$470) comes back I can take some shots at NL50. That's about it really.

4k hands today, not bad considering I woke up later than I hoped and had work today too. Not so great news is that 4 BI below EV for the day, but still ended up a buy in or so can't really complain.

Not going to look at results for the next 10k hands, should take 3-4 days max. At the end of the 10k hands i'll hopefully be on the verge of 20 BI for NL25 so I can start taking shots. Although in saying that, I read in jb's blog today about TT saying that seeing as he's pretty much guaranteed FTP money back, it's a good idea to class FTP as part of his bankroll now. I too have ~$500 locked up on there (yes Manu, I know I owe you $50 ). By that logic i'm quite comfortably rolled for NL25. But even still the sceptic in me says not to count my chickens just yet with regards to FTP, so think i'll stick to the no looking at results for 10k hands plan and re-evaluate afterwards.

Depends what you use your poker money for. For example, since I live off it, I can't count FTP money yet since I don't have access to it, but you or JB can if you just need it to 'reload' in a a very very unlikely situation of you busting your currently available BR.

Hey great progress! :O
I was wondering when during the day are you playing? I'm ET (montreal, Canada) and I just switched back to SH. When I play NL10 before ~6pm, I crush. When I play after ~6pm, non-showdown winnings just make me bleed money! So I'm not happy about this lol and was wondering when you play so I maximise winnings :)

My schedule's pretty hectic with uni during the day and work on an evening. So typically i'll try to get at least 60-90 minutes in between 13:00 and 16:30 UK time (so GMT+1?) and squeeze another hour or so when I get home from work around 23:00. I have found though that the games are a little softer during the day than the night though like you say, which is odd because you'd think it'd be the other way around. Small sample though obviously and I may just be getting more reg-infested tables on a night

Bear in mind that I am playing FR, no idea what SH tables are like. :f_biggrin:
