CO: $10.09 (100.9 bb)
Hero (BTN): $20.54 (205.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 6 7
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.20, SB calls $0.15, BB folds

Flop: ($0.60) 9 7 K (2 players)
SB bets $0.30, Hero calls $0.30

Turn: ($1.20) K (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($1.20) J (2 players)
SB bets $0.55, Hero calls $0.55

Results:

Spoiler

$2.30 pot ($0.10 rake)
Final Board: 9 7 K K J
SB showed T J and won $2.20 ($1.13 net)
Hero mucked 6 7 and lost (-$1.07 net)

1) Is this hand too weak to steal against SB, should I steal less with bigger Broadway cards say JT+ all PP and suited connectors

2) As played how do you feel about raising flop barreling turn card. Even as a fish I think that donking half pot looks so drawy I think he would either c/c weak kings or donk alot more (around .50 or so) or c/r strong hands like sets and strong pairs.

3) As played river call too weak??

i probably just fold flop and wait for better spot.
as played river cant really be a call as so many of his sds hit, QJ/JT/QT/J8/T8 etc.

Hi,

Pre-flop raise is fine- I would only make it 2.5 or 3x to have more fold equity. Postflop I would not fold pair and likely would bet turn for value. River call should be fine

best regards,

What are your thoughts about raising flop to 1.5 and betting 1/2 pot turn?

Is there a reason against doing this?

Hello adamall,

Calling flop is still fine, though I wouldn't really Call the river cause now it also completes some of his GS draws and also some Jx holdings. We don't beat much there.

Raising flop wouldn't make much of sense cause you mainly get action from those hands which have great equity against you and we most likely ain't making many made hands to fold.

Best Regards.
