Hand 1:

He only really reps KK, JJ and flushes. (maybe people value bet lighter at NL200 rush i'm not sure) It's possible he has like KJo which he three bet as a bluff pre, pot control on flop then bink turn. I think he bets his flush draws on the flop so all in all its call imo.

Hand 2:

This hand is a bit over my head tbh. Not sure why we raise the flop in the first place. For value I presume. When we get three bet we must put him on air a lot of the time in order to call. Therefore, as aciddrop says, we should call him down on blanks once we call flop. He also may be more likely to bluff as the 2 and 3 pairing make it less likely we had a set on the flop.

Will be mega interesting to hear what TT and Manu... I mean what you have to say.

imagine you have A :spade:A on BTN, how do you get the most value from someone whom you consider solid against his perceived combined range consisting of

- AK
- 66-QQ
- some other hands every now and then (e.g. AQ)

?

Does BTN need to worry about protection on the flop?

I wouldn't have put AA in your range after the checkback, but with that specific combo, blocking both flushes, it could make sense. Since UTG can now never have nut flush hands.

Well, I'm glad I folded then!

TT said it was a snap call if he was playing because of the dynamic between the two of you, but that since I'm a full-stacked unknown, it's incredibly hard to see you doing this as a bluff. My argument was rather more sophisticated, and went something along the lines of 'I'm scared money, so I fold'. Well played me.

yeah, btw I would expect TT to fold with adjusted dynamics there - I recently realized that we kind of started avoiding each other with TT after some initial clashes.. Currently he has 3bet only 3vs me and I somehow did not want to make him cry either^^ probably need to pull the trigger to make it more fun again

Well, it saved me $100 in this hand. I don't like calling 3bets OOP either, but TT said it was a good idea. He's so passive.....

I have like 200k hands on Party this year and they really do it very often..

i think i call 4bets OOP more than i call 3bets. it's a lot easier to play when all u gotta do is put it in every time you flop equity

I lost 3BI in 2K hands at NL100 last night, but I ran very badly indeed, including a set over set and a FH over FH, and I thought I played reasonably well.

I agreed with the play, but you're getting a bit out of range for me now up in the nosebleeds, nl100 is as far as I've been and that was 4 years ago.

I'm really enjoying reading all the new posts in the hand evaluation forum, even though they're mainly by Tim . I think I'm going to start posting my problem hands in there. I need to wean myself off using TT as my personal hand evaluator, as he's certainly not going to be doing that once I've stopped playing for the book. He's far to busy with dancing to do that.

Btw, I found a picture of a fast bowling lemur. Pretty good technique imo, although given his lack of height, he's probably never going to get to the highest levels of the game. (All you non-cricketing continental Europeans can just facepalm and move on at this point.)

My two youngest were watching this on my laptop this morning.

Apparently it's very popular. Now number two son keeps singing it. The world's gone mad. A fat Korean bloke on the toilet. Not my cup of tea, although it did make me laugh.

I'm absolutely champing at the bit to (a) start writing the book properly, (b) stop playing so much bloody poker (silly game), (c) get fit, (d) be able to have the occasional MTT night again. Next week I have to play bloody chess on Tuesday (even sillier game), and deal with a student who's made an official complaint about me, basically saying that my lectures are too hard. First year undergraduate applied maths, nine weeks into the course, and I'm just doing projectiles. Fmel. No wonder those nice continental European mathematicians get all the jobs we advertise. The world's gone mad. Or did I say that already?
