As the logic says, if its a safe flop and u have like top two or a set with NO rainbow board, i suggest to keep pot small even u have the nuts,

Is that really what the logic says???

Only skimmed through the thread, but has anyone told him to move up where they respect his raises?

I believe so. And wise words they were too!

One more thing i have found is tipical to micros- as ppl tend to draw way more as they should, u need to follow the board texture and betsizing even more. I find my self too greedy very often which leads to huge loss. As the logic says, if its a safe flop and u have like top two or a set with NO rainbow board, i suggest to keep pot small even u have the nuts, because your oponent will most likely to draw and often hit his draw and u will be in position were u have dag your own grave by making pot huge.

so which one is right, 1 or 2?

with that i ment i would choose my betsize depending on board texture... if its rainbow i would bet like pot/pot/pot and still get called with shitty hand in many situations but if there are flush posibility i would go for small bets as ppl on micros tend to draw for flush way more. there is a difference between getting payed off with or without a risk. ofc u have to try to get payed on every board if u are ahead but i dont think u have to get greedy and stick too much money in on 60:40 rather w8 for the spot were u are 80:20 :)

sorry if my ability to explain myself is not as good as im trying ^_^

So when opponent is drawing with 20% equity, you choose to bet smaller to get less value. Instead of getting the maximum value, and understand that sometimes they hit the flush but most of the times not. And in the long run you make $$$.

I just don't understand why you shouldn't take maximum profit when it is possible. As I have played PLO2, most of my profits come from the guys who call pot bets with flush draws.

the thing with the low limit micros is you really need to put some volume in.
Variance can hit you hard there but if you run good then your laughing.

when i played these games it was all value value value nobody folds anything so TPGK i just VB every street, if you run bad or everyone else runs good you can value bet the shit out of yourself but just got to take it on the chin and get some good volume in.

So when you THINK you make ONLY +EV decisions, and still win just 5 dollars a week at micros, you are wrong. You might make +EV decision, but they are backed up with -EV decisions.

I really hate this aspect of poker, where players say that they can't win cos the opponents are so bad. I have never heard the same statement in any other competitive sport. And the fact is that the statement is just pure bullshit. What it means is that you can't adjust to opponents, and therefore you can't win money. And being a good poker players is about adjusting to the current situation and make good decision all the time.

So look into the mirror, and stop making excuses.

The single biggest reason why "I-think-I-am-a-good-poker-player" doesn't win money at micros is the fact that he doesn't adjust to opponents. He keeps playing that TAG ABC and just cbetting and bluffing calling stations. When opponents don't fold, you go to 100% value poker. It's that simple.

Once again, stop making excuses and find a mirror. There are tons of players that crush even the smalles micros. So it's not impossible. It's super easy actually, once you are a good player that understands how the game works. So keep working. :)

Totally agree here.

To the OP, I've gone through this whole process too where these bad players frustrated the hell out of me, but like Kyyberi says it's important to adjust. At the end of the day, I realised it was me who had problems adjusting to different player types and once I took responsibility for my actions things began to improve.

Strategically, on tables full of stations it's not wrong to open-raise AA/KK like 6-8bb. You'll probably get less callers, but you'd be amazed how many still do! This also greatly reduces the SPR to justify getting your stack in by the turn. If you're beat, that's too bad but this play alone dramatically improved my winrate in 2NL (at this stake the 6bb open with premiums is a valid strategy IMO) and 4NL/5NL (only on the loosest of tables). Doubt this would work at 10NL though?

By the way, it looks like you're doing really well with SNG's, so you should probably stick to these if you enjoy them.

What is putting me on tilt more than anything at the minute is how often I am picking up hands like AA, KK, QQ and AK raised 3/4x and everybody fold no matter what postion im in lol

I have of course got some action with them but not as much as I would like. I think the last few days I have managed to find tables on stars with the biggest bunch of nits ever lol but i am still up for the week and the month, maybe this week I will get people to 4bet shove into my AA. Well here's hoping!

i take everything on board guys i never ment to like cause an uproar it just gets a little frustrating how like it seems that everytime i get a premium hand im getting smashed by some shitty non connecting cards like 92o and that so i think until i am rolled enough for the higher stakes, even if there is alot to be made in the micros that i will continue on the SNG route.

i play alot more live in brick and mortars at 50/1 blinds and it might sound stupid and boasty but ive not once had a losing session where ive lost more than 80 quid in one sit and ive been playing live since i started taking the poker serious. i dont know maybe its people play scared up top i dont know but i do seem to do alot better in the higher value stakes than the micros....i just want to build a roll up online so thats why im trying to foll some BRM otherwise id deposit 100 dollars and off to 50-1 i go with one buy in ahahha

Bad players are a good thing, it's a good thing your competitors are making mistakes.
Or am I missing something?

Maybe you just suck at poker, ever thought about it that way? If you can't beat the games with bad players how are you planning to beat the games filled with tough regs trying to stack that 1 fish(pretty much you) lolz
