After 40 games I was up 11BI today, my volume target was 100 games, so I continued playing. After a lot of the standard 5BI swings I then played a fish who ran like 5BI over EV vs me, then in my last 6 games of the night I just lost every all in and have ended up just on the wrong side of breakeven for the day.
Annoying that 3 hours ago I was 1BI off shooting the $15s, now (due to owing someone funds also) i'm 15BI off it.
Didn't tilt though

But ultimately downwards. I've taken a few $15s shots in the past week and just got crushed by the deck and ended around 10-15BI under EV. Hypers gonna....
Anyway, after last night when i got pretty annoyed about the state of my roll I have downloaded a load of AHK scripts to hide my BR from the registration windows and the rematch windows to well and truly curb my results oriented thoughts. No more looking at HEM after every game. I'm well rolled for the $7s atm so I will just play them for a few days without looking at results.

Well, a lot has happened since I last updated. Main news IRL is that i'm moving out of my parents in a few weeks and into a rented house with my gf, scary and exciting times!
Poker wise... it's been lolbad. Went on a 40-50BI downer on HU Hypers and decided to switch back to cash to rebuild. Didn't go well and have dropped $150 on that leaving my roll absolutely demolished after some necessary withdrawals. not gonna whine about running bad though 
Don't know what to play atm, I want to play HU Hypers because they're what I enjoy the most, but my roll is too small to play any really. I just feel like I can;t beat anything atm, although it's probably just variance it's getting me down a bit. I mean, this time last month I had a cushy $800-$900 roll. Now it's $140...
Congrats on moving together It's gonna be tough just don't let everything to be her way. Sometimes it's good to oppose to sth even if you're not really against it but you know it may lead to some bigger changes in the future

I suggest playing $7 turbos, your edge is much bigger there. You need few good days to rebuild it for $7 hypers.
Second option are $3,5 hypers but I don't believe you have motivation to play that low. It will take some time to rebuild your br but you'll do it just don't put too much pressure on yourself.

The problem is I haven;t really got the roll for the $7 turbos either, I might move down and play the $3.50 hypers, although i've never played that low so don't know how easy it is to beat the rake.
I've got all of this week off work so want to make my mind up today so I can put some serious grinding time in ♦

Pretty easy to beat everything about those 3.50s. I've got 4.3% EV ROI over 1.6k games, and I don't consider myself to be anything but decent.
But if you're not rolled for the 7$ turbos, how the hell are you rolled for 3.5$ hypers? ♦

Here I am, awaken at 8.45am for the big day. It's time to take that giant leap/step and move in with my girlfriend 
Had an awesome night last night where we had a cooked breakfast for dinner cooked by my girlfriend's wonderful landlady. We then drank a lot of beer and played Monopoly :f_biggrin:I came home, watched some Derren Brown and then crawled into bed ready for my last night's sleep on my own
Now it's time for a busy day of moving my life down the road and into our new (rented) house. Our relationship has moved fairly fast but that's not through it being forced, we've just done what felt natural all along, and I need to be out of my parents house, she can't stay where she is for long,and we enjoy each others company a lot. Moving in together seemed like the natural thing to do.
Fortunately we'll have the internet from the word go, thanks to our neighbours being one of my girlfriends best friends, and we were housesitting for them a while ago and I saved their connection on my laptop
Anyway, enough of rambling on in an incoherent, early morning-style. Poker wise i've been swinging like crazy the past few days. on Wednesday +15BI, Thursday -12BI, Friday +20BI, yesterday -10BI ♦ Fortunately for my self esteem though, the EV line has been above breakeven for all of those days In fact, over the last 4 days my EV is +30BI or so, a ~12% EV ROI ♦
Obviously I must've been running good card distribution wise, but not insanely good since I have lost count of the amount of times i've run a pocket pair into a higher one.
Not been able to put much volume in recently due to being busy every day with the new house. But i'll leave you with a graph of me crushing EV wise and money wise over the past 250~ games

Running like God in card distribution these past few days, reduced my 12BI deficit on the $7s. Oh, by reduced I mean eliminated and then made profit! ROI is at like 9% overall on the $7s (Lolsmall sample but so what, i'm still under EV 
) over 200 games. This month i'm up about 45BI total ♦ The previous runbad at $7s means that in $$ amount it's only around $250 but still, it's progress!
Finished work today for 10 days (Holidays ftw). There won't be too much grinding after Saturday night as my gf has the week off as well so will be spending a lot of it with her. But one of the upsides of living together is that I can sit on the sofa and grind while she watches TV at nights, good times!
So, we're into the most festive month of the year and cold, dreary November is behind us (3rd worst month of the year, behind January and February imo).
I started November on the $3.50 HU Hypers, and since then i've moved up and down to the $7s a few times, up to the $15s a few times and am now back down on the $7s. Lets get the graphs out of the way:
*Hopes the resizing worked* As you can see, this week i've encountered a pretty nasty downswing, unfortunately it all started when I was at the heights of having a 15BI cushion on the $15s before I had tomove down, so the monetary loss was quite significant. But, the main thing is that during this period, I felt I continued to play well, my EV is still on it's way upwards and (especially on the $7s) I feel like I am absolutely crushing. I'm not going to lie, there were times in this last week when i've felt terrible about playing, as i've heard a few other HU Hyper players saying, when you hit a heavy patch of variance it can easily make you feel completely hopeless and that whatever you do,you can't win. But I managed to fight these feelings off and continue making the most +EV decisions I could.
Decembers plan is to recover, i'm currently down on the $7s having halved my roll in the past week, i'm absolutely destroying the $7s and I can see a noticeable skill difference between the $7s and the $15s. From my 200 or so games on the $15s I feel I cna currently beat them, but not for the same ROI as the $7s. Here's my graph for the $7s so far:
My real ROI is 4%, my EV ROI doesn't show on HEM2 but judging by that we're talking about 7%. It's still a small sample but judging by that and the way I feel when I play I think I am crushing them.
Why all the hate against January and Feb? I personally like them, since I love winter.

It's not that I don't like winter, but the only reason I like winter is because of Christmas. After that's over it's just depressing, getting up for work when it's dark, freezing my tits off every time I step outside etc etc.
And yeah i'm fairly proud of my EV line, although i'd be happier if my green line would follow it ♦ But oh well, the results will come!
I can't let this blog die ♦ I will be making a fairly long post in the next few days (maybe even today). Since I last posted i've switched games (yet again). Not by choice but through lack of BR. I had a huge swong at Hyper HU SnGs. These are still my game of choice and my EV line says i'm profitable at them (pretty much crushing the $7s), but the poker Gods turned against me and punished my enthusiasm with a 80BI~ downswing :f_biggrin:
But i'm not disheartened. I switched back to NL SH Cash last month at some point (I forget when) and started grinding NL2, a few thousands hands of that, then a few thousand of NL5 and I was ready for a shot at NL10. Went pretty well and i've rebuilt a significant portion of my roll. Before I switch back to Hyper HUs i'll want a 100BI roll for the $7s.
Anyway this post has been rambling enough considering the fact i'm planning a long post in the near future. Peace. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year (I know I did ) and 2013 is the year i'll be trying to fucking get somewhere in both poker and other projects!
