Something to post into new section then. Good luck mate with that, though my advice is to not switch directly over. Take few tables of NL20 and keep NL10 also to background, if you have decent BR for it and I'd go for like 25-30 at least then can take bigger shots and more tables.

today - big disappointment with williamhill. I complained about three guys colluding at poker table. They were chatting in greek language and after the chat persisted for few hands, I was curious and checked their chat with google translate. Obviously they were writing their hands to each other.

Issue raised, I was assured that this is going to be investigated and that they have access to chat from that table - today I got an email that there is no evidence of collusion. Shame I didn't take screens as the operator on live chat assured me that there is no need to do so _mad:

So today I finally reached 25BB for NL20 so I will start to mix it up with my NL10 tables.

Seriously, I don't know what happened, if it was just not focusing 100 percent on my game + a bit of luck or something different...but this is how my graph for last 10 days looks:

But what I'm not sure about are my stats....I was trying to adapt to the type of players on WH NL10 and for the same period as the graph my stats are 18/14...is that too tight for NL10 6-max or shouldn't I be concerned with it?

edit: one more question for you veriz - I am curious, which limit is enough for making enough money to pay for living? I was always wondering, if players are trying to go for higher limits and trying to build BR for it, when is the moment when you actually say "okay, I will stay on this limit for a longer time" and will just cash out regularly without any intention for moving up? I know that there is no correct answer for it, some players will just go up and up and up but I'm still curious what do you personally think :f_biggrin:

That's crappy with iPoker support, I don't know either what to say, I mean there are also tons of bots running around there and they do much about it. Though of course against bots it's super easy to play but still...

Well, what happened you faced once a nice upswing. :) That's really nice and that's what happens when you continue believing in yourself. Just continue doing the stuff you doing and keep your A-game and keep improving.

Yep, unfortunately it's too tight but nothing to worry about, as long it's earning you profit. :) In the future with practice and confidence you will anyways loosen up your range. Or at least if you going to cooperate with me. Not many of my students have a tight style. But everything comes with time, you can't start right away doing those things which you ain't suited for, that's also why I need to adjust every limit and every player on the forums.

Hard question, depends where you live, either you live alone and so on. So many factors could change it. In some countries you may easily live off maybe even from $500 and in some countries you would need at least $1k and even more. My advice not to take it as pro unless you have really nice sample and statistics which show you have earned for a year and average salary.

aaand there it comes, after this nice upswing - downswing as hell and I'm back where I was started mixing the NL10 and NL20 tables and experienced ~5,5 BI (NL20) downswing...so I'm back on NL10 tables after some break as I am a bit demotivated now and look at the graph doesn't help it either :f_cry:

good luck at tables guys :)

Auch, that hurts but at least you made a good play with moving down, a lot of players ain't even able to do that. :(

today I had to do the choice which hurts a bit but...I just don't have time to play cashgames regularly at the moment because of my Master's studies+no time to study the game and develop and I am starting to feel that in my game, which is getting uncreative and easily exploitable by regs...so I cashed out my whole BR and I'm only going to play some MTTs once in a while...I'm having pretty good results in them and maybe it's a better thing for me to play some MTTs when I feel like playing instead of grinding the CG tables daily (although MTTs have bigger variance and that can be quite frustrating)

Hopefully I will have an opportunity to get back to cashgames and maybe take it to the higher level - I was hoping, that I will take it at least to NL50 this year but the lack of time just stopped my whole progress...

So thanks a lot veriz for all your help till now and hopefully we will cooperate in some way (through HE forums, coaching,...) in the future :)

You have to follow the path whatever is the best for you. Great that you at least finding what you enjoy and maybe even earning money. Cash is tough to learn and takes a lot time, meanwhile with MTTs you can get lucky and win really nice amount. So I wish only good luck in that and you can always say hi here and tell us how you doing. :)

regarding, how is it going...today I shipped the 1st place in 2.50 180man turbo :)

edit: after few days of switching from cashgames to MTT and STT SnGs and bigger MTTs, although not with that many awesome results except of mentioned 1st place and one ~500th place in Sunday Storm for 103 dollars, I just feel a great difference in my approach to this type of games. After spending the time and effort to get into the fascinating world of cashgames (which, as mentioned, I don't want to abandon forever - they are just too interesting, complex and challenging and that's exactly what I like :) ) the level of understanding post-flop situations, which a lot of MTT and SnG players at micro and low limits ignore, seems deeper as it was before, which might be an advantage (shame that when you just have some amount of useless hands in turbo tournament, you don't really get to use these skills ). Of course, they still need to be developed a great deal, as some aspects of post-flop play are still mysteries for me

The next thing I really need to work on are calling ranges for late-game shoves, which are also still confusing for me and I seem to forget a lot about calling in these spots from what I knew before. I actually think about investing in some professional coaching in tournament play, so maybe I will give myself a gift for christmas and buy myself some hours :)

I plan to keep this thread irregularly updated - it is a nice way to blog a bit about poker as it has become a part of my life :)

Good luck at the tables guys :)

well, tournament poker is great, but...after I made the decision I wrote about in this thread and started playing 180man and 45man SnGs for a few days, I started doubting about it and looks like I will rethink this idea once again - looks like I have the period of not being able to choose, which gametype I really want to focus on :)

edit: + when I think about it, it would be unwise to stop with CGs now when I spend a lot of time and trying to learn them and switch to different format, which I would have to get used to (+I don't like the variance )

Hi Durinko,

I'm happy to hear you are considering returning to cash games and don't forget we will be here to answer your questions (and help you with the hands in the evaluation forums).

Have you made any sort of plans for the near future or set up any goals? It may be a good way to get you back on track.

yeah and I already reconsidered - going away from CG was my approx. weekly craziness (connected with lack of time) and I still don't know, why my mind was so unstable about poker in that week - I guess it was mindset downswing so I'm back in it :f_biggrin:

well, regarding my plans...after I cashed out my BR from WilliamHill I needed to spend some extra money so now with my remainings I'm on lower level of BRM for NL10 so first of all my goal would be to build up my BR asap in order to move back to NL16 and NL25. I play on pokerstars now, cause WHs rake seemed quite high for me, which is not the case on Stars + it seems that there are quite a lot of weaker players these days on my limits :) what bothers me is that my Stars acc isn't linked to my pokerstrategy account, so my status will go down...maybe sometimes in the future I will set up an account in some other poker room and link it with PS so I will have the access to higher ranked articles and videos when needed (I was considering unibet with 30% flat RB through PS.com - I will see).

Unibet is definitely a decent option for building your bankroll (the extra RB really helps).

PartyPoker or WPT are also decent options with a decent player pool.
