BB-14/9/3b-0 for 110 hands.
BU-13/8/3b-5.9/fold to cbet 25(4) / agr freq T-25(24) / R-6(18) for 273 hands.
He can have ATs,AJ,AQ. I think he don`t bet Jx on the turn. And he might rarely have floats in 3 way pots.Only KQ,KTs,QTs can float on this board.

urgh ugly hand, I'd call if there was no river to come... but don't have a proper gameplan for most rivers so I think the fold is weak but fine.
thing is that his BU calling range is wide and he doesn't fold a lot to c-bets.
as you say, 3way pot makes floats less likely, on the other hand the board doesn't hit BB Range at all, so it might not bother him too much.

but overall I think it's ok to fold here vs a rather tight player.

Hi all,

Begin the hand by checking the flop. On AJ4r there are not many draws and thus it's hard to get value from betting.

The value comes from when our villain floats us and then bets the turn. So we should therefore check/call the turn.

And what`s the plan, when I check? I can`t call more than one bet with no info.
When I make cbet, I can get value from Jx and I will have better idea, how strong is my hand.
The range of BU isn`t wide, because he is tight player. He might don`t call KT,QT, he can float me only with KQ.
Maybe I can call this small bet on the turn and check/fold river.

he will bet all J imo expect maybe JK and all random floats and PP<JJ

as played ch/c turn is best imo wit intention (cos u say he is tight player) to fold most rivers

This. I would c/c 2 streets if I checked flop. We can possibly even c/c 3 streets with some thinking about villain (capability of 3barrel-spew, our perceived range, etc).

Why do you think he will bet JTs or 99 on the turn?

-for protection and stuff ...
-for u to fold Jx or Aweak
-for cheap showdown

I think most of the opponents will check back J on the turn. He will be often paid from KJ, QJ, KK, QQ and weak Ax and I think very rarely someone will turn Jx in bluff and bet turn and river. If he had the best hand he will almost always get to showdown, because very rarely someone will cbet flop, check turn and bluff bet river. So for free showdown isn`t good reason.

if u think so then ok...

i just want to tell u that in villain spot i'll bet like 80%++ of time on turn... and is not like i have TP or BETTER 80% of time..

Ok, maybe you and this villain in this hand bet any Jx on the turn, but according to me it`s better to check Jx on the turn(maybe vs some villains can bet KJ for value), because most of the time you won`t be paid from weaker hands and you will fold better hands very rarely.

Chenny, what do you think? Do you bet for example JTs?

Hi,

I don´t think I have any hands that would c/c flop, so I like your c-bet for value. I would make it half the pot to make my life easier on the turn. Likely I would c/c that turn card and expect we go to showdown a lot of times (sometimes I win against QQ/KK, Jx, sometimes he win with better Ax)

If he bets river, then most of the times he is representing AQ+, so then it comes if I´m ahead against floats or always behind. Call likely depends on his sizing, timing and game flow

best regards,

I'm normally checking, if I bet it's to bet turn, bet river and get my opponent to fold a hand up to as strong as AQ. It's purely because he's capped his range and I want to punish that by betting.

@Kaitz20: you can be exploitable! This is a good hand to c/c flop with just on virtue of fundamentals: if we bet we can't get floated by many worse, nor can we fold out any better.

If you ch/c weak ace in this spot, I think you should definitely have strong hands in you ch/calling range. Because if you don`t, it`s easily exploitable too. Villain can bet for value every TPGK and don`t bluff ever, because you very rarely check/fold this flop.

agreed, it's a highly exploitable line but this is a 22$ MTT, it's not really that big a deal if we take some of these exploitable lines.

FWIW i'm checking AQ here some of the time regardless, not for balance though!

Standard would be to check/call twice, c/f river. If he's not bluffing then kudos to him for not stacking me w/ top pair vs top pair.
