I think Daniel Negranu is a brilliant poker player, he just seems to run into bad luck.
Phil Ivey is pretty good also.

In fact, they are great players no matter what they have caused to the poker community.

Stu Ungar was very talented but ruined his life. There is a documentray film in youtube about his life. Also Doyle has promised to write some articles about him.

Phil Ivey is considered the best by many people, but he has never publicly expressed any thoughts about the game. Let 's what his new site is about...

Also, nobody can question these incredible achievements of this guy:

Phil Hellmuth holds multiple WSOP records including most bracelets, most WSOP cashes, and most WSOP final tables. He is also the only player to have won the Main Events of both the WSOP and WSOP Europe.

In PLO, i would say Phil Galfond. He is very open minded and so eager discussing and teaching the game. Of course there are many other new generation players like sauce, sulsky, isildur1 at either game, but don't know many details about them. I have read an article by Phil Galfond describing isildur1 as the guy who studies all by himself without programs and always looking for fun rather than money.

Not a real winner.

The best poker player in the world should probably be the most underrated/unknown one playing in big games

otherwise Doyle Brunson imo because who else has lived and breathed poker&gambling for so long and well as him

as for looking exclusively at skills and seeming capabilities it would be silly to try and categorize minds

Stu ungar is overrated (did sick in some tourneys but never grinded/killed cash aka real poker) just like a lot of other people doing well in tournaments

Who's Jerry Yang by the way and what's his main background in playing poker or casino games?

As has already been said, Water Boat for sure is the best.

Nobody else on the scene is pulling off Vunderbluffs, Twilighting and 15betting 4 high.
