I just finished the inca trail which was at machu pichu, lasting foue days. It was rewarding but tiring. Will upload some beautiful pics once i get a good connection
Foods to try would be manjar (also known as the aforementioned dulce de leche), empanadas, Choripan and Curanto (contains shellfish though so be a little careful with restaurant selection)
I'm also in South America, Chile to be exact. "just" 4000 km from Lima Peru 
So i recently hav been toying w the idea of settig up a poker house. Not sure where. Probably in singapore but perhaps in thailand or philippines
I will rent an apartment / condominium and we will have 5-6 guys living in the house. I pay for the rent and some basic stuff like utilities/food/maid as well. I will coach a few times a week w a projector in the living room and research on new topics every week searching the forums for interesting stuff and comong up w new stuff. Students also fet the benefit of living wih fellow players of similar skill levels. I know its hard to organise something like this if u are a lone player like myself who doesnt really have many poker friends.
In return there shuld be something like a one year binding profit sharing agreemewnt of at least 50% including rb. That wuld be in exchange for bearing all the risks of staking(?) And efforts of organising and coaching (and ill have to buy some new furniture etc)
Im posting this here cos i would like to know if theres a demand for such services. Of cos as an entrepreneur i would hope to make 10k a month from this. My friend told me his frens china coaching house makes 350k in mgr. Maybe 10k seems a little high? Who knows...
Target group is mostly nl50/100 but perhaps nl25. I think im going to have signifixant rental costs if i do it in sg (4k sgd monthly rental) but im not so sure if im prepared to move to thailand for a year.
So yea post ur thoughts on feasibility and if u fall within my target grp would u be intereested in livig in south east asia for a year? Singapore is a pretty safe and nice place to live and its a good travel hub for nearby countries. Thanks.
cost of living is too high. when your geographical location doesn't affects your income, it would make alot of sense to move to somewhere whereby cost of living is lowered.
i just dont see how anyone on nl50 would be able to afford the living expenses in singapore and that is excluding 50% profit agreements.
on nl100, yeah its fine, but then how much more value do they get when they live in another country like thailand/philippines?
so if you plan to setup a pokerhouse in singapore, these guys probably have to be playing midstakes or something.
then the next issue if the guys you are targeting aren't local, you have to find a way for their visa. i doubt visa regulations are as lax as thailand or philippines.
i'm not sure about the coaching houses in china, i've heard of them and they are probably more into the business of "poker rats on wheels"?
Yea im still trying to figure out costs. If u live a simple lifestyle in thailand but ij a nice comfortable apartment/villa how much does it cost? Hie many people can fit into one house?
And my initial plan was to do it locally with local ppl but then we all probably have to stay in some rented hdb which doesnt seem appealing

i don't think singapore would be +EV for you , or any guys moving there , it's too expensive (ofc unless you wanna stay in the middle of a junkyard) still , if you find something in the other 2 options pretty sure ppl might be interested.
hmm that~s what i thought, though i only considered singapore first because i was initially planning to get only singaporeans to stay there (hard to convince people to move). i suppose it makes way more sense to do it in thailand if i wanted to coach foreigners instead.
my friend is doing something similar in Macau and I would assume prices in property are fairly similar when both are equally dense countries. but he~s not really coaching too much, they just have a weekly session with a projector and a screen, and he doesnt have any profit share, they just pay their monthly rental

yeah but macau has an attraction of live games(singapore is just starting out and if anyone wanna play livegames it is still macau), and rental deffo is not that expensive compared to singapore.
singaporeans would make sense, but like you said, would singaporean kids really wanna move out of their own homes and pay that extra rental/utilities/food/etc expenses?

I bet you can find the same amount of people in most countries, it is just because (I am assuming) you are from signapore that it seems easier to you since you probably have some contacts and some idea regarding rent already.
Something I would like clarification on Galvin, will you be paying for rent as part of the deal or will it be shared bettween players?
Also is this stake+coaching+rent, stake+rent, or coaching only for 50% of winnings?
Also if one player is at NL25 and another one at NL200 do they both have to give up 50%?
a good poker house in a high end gated community in cebu, philippines is somewhere between 100,000 - 200,000php which is 2,000$ - 4,000$ US
if 5 NL50 players played, they can easily afford to split the 2,000$ between them for 400$ monthly rent each. plus maids and food and everything that would be probably be around 750 - 1,000$ a month per person.
they can easily grind that on their own and still make decent money to save with. but if you take out 50% of their profit. their just basically playing just to survive.
providing your coaching them all year round. what is the difference if they book a 5 block coaching session from you, take every thing they learn and improve on their own and save more money instead of paying you 50% vig every month.

Trying to get serious again. I am considering going for SuperNova which will probably require me to play 300 days X 5 hours X 700 VPP = ~1million. Very doable after I graduate and don't have to giv a shit about stupid stuff like school.
Woke up at 2am cos I'm still a little jet-lagged and played 2 hours. It did not go well, with some of my old leaks coming back (too bluffy preflop)
Game Theory
After a 1 month break I started lesson 2 of Internet's GTO course yesterday. It was a lot more difficult than part 1. While I usually pride myself at being good at Math, it was a lot to absorb and I had to re-read the Google Docs. Also couldn't do >50% of the Homework ♦
Will take another look at it later. I am in a rush to finish the course so that I can quickly tweak up my game so I have scheduled Lesson 3 for today. I'm hoping to switch to a more GTO type of style - I think it is just much stronger and harder to exploit.
Most of the top winners at NL500 are GTO TAG players. They make the most money but I just don't remember them because they play very balanced, not too exploitative and just very solid in general. They don't leak too much money cos when they are unsure about a particular spot they just revert to their GTO defense which is something I am not very good at doing at the moment.
I think poker these days is more about losing less with weak hands (like defending blinds), rather than winning more (by bluffing or making huge value bets), with most players being regs.
School
Finally managed to achieve a 1-day work week 
With 2 electives and 1 core module only, I can just go to school once a week and not attend any lectures.
Poker Coaching Material
I am trying to finish Part 2 of "Constructing Preflop Ranges". Then maybe I'll make more vids and get some more ideas. I'm still a little stuck at the part where I'm supposed to measure preflop playability for a hand. I tried using a very simplified method with Propokertools graphs (Hand vs Range) but it didn't really help to illustrate my point on playability.
Just a quick question. Where do you find that course? I love diving into the complex math of poker and moreso decision making in real life situations.
After all the courses I've taken on mathematical decision making I have a hard time relating to other peoples "common sense" approach to decision making. Ever since then I haven't been able to get enough
