Lol, is it really that bad?
I'm ~140bi below in the last ~100k hands can it be much worse?
edit. I've withdrawn everything but E40 so have 20bi for nl2
Also have my ring game tickets on ft (2x $50) which I'll use to play plo2, and move up once I've made $50 so can 3 table comfortably
Lol at plo2
Guy had 4 hearts in his hand and thought he had a flush on 7c2h9s. Easy double up!
This must be what it was like to play nlhe back in the day, everyone is a nit now.
Up ~4bi in ~200hands, need to get a tracking software though. Going to download om2 trail now and watch lechrumski's preflop vid. Might just play plo this month
NLHE:
Like I said withdrew everything and started again with E40.

Was really weird being back at nl2, definitely spewed away a bit at the start while adjusting. Had loads of horrible runouts and had to make some big folds which was frustrating but 30bb/100 is 100% maintainable.
Regs were so weak as well, there's a bunch of guys that fold >90% to 3bets which is ridiculous! They all play fit-or-fold post as well which is sweet.

nl4 plays really different to nl2 imo. Found the transition quite weird. Players are a lot more aggressive. Whereas nl2 guys are loose passive, nl4 guys are maniacs. I actually think a better winrate is possible at nl4 because guys spew so much, its quite easy to get stacks in. Might take some adjusting to though. Its a small sample but they're my initial thoughts anyway.
BR is like ~E80 so probably be another 10k hands of nl4 before reaching BR for nl10. Have bit of a bonus clearing soon too so that'll help.
PLO:
Really enjoying this game, once I get the hang of it will definitely put most my effort into it. Only playing an hour or so a day atm while I get to grips with it. Here's graph so far:

Using the pt4 trail, but for some reason only imports about a quarter of the hands from FT... So missing about 1k hands and about an extra 3BI's profit. The HUD doesn't update while playing either which pisses me off because I have to refresh every few hands... Think I'll be getting OM2 soon at this rate.
Played some plo5 as well and finding it ok, I think its pretty similar, but will still wait until I hit $50 profit so I have 3x $50 rolls until I clear my ring tickets at which point I'll move to plo10. Should have a good grip on the game by that stage too so I'll be putting my focus into it and most likely getting in touch with Kyyberi.
2012
So the year is practically over. Its had its ups and downs for me but overall its been a good year.
Real life wise I'm exactly where I want to be:
Health/Gym.
I've gone from being a skinny 10.5 stone weakling to 13 stone stacked.
Admittedly this has taken two years but barely went to the gym during my last year of uni as I was far more concerned with partying. So I had like 7/8 months off which set me back a good bit but was 11ish when I started training again at the start of the summer. Which brings me onto my next point.
Graduated from uni
I enjoyed my time at uni, and certainly made the most of it. But delighted its over. Really needed that stage of my life to finish so I could move on with the rest of my plans and get out of that student mindset. Don't plan on using my degree but without uni I never would have discovered trading or, the much less profitable (for me), poker. So it really was pivotal and at least I'll always have my education to fall back on. I have thought about doing a phd but I know it wouldn't be the best thing for me atm as I have other goals but maybe in a year or two that'll change.
Career
Love what I'm doing. Sometimes the hours aren't very sociable because I'm working like 4pm-11pm some days but it has its rewards. It's also given me the opportunity to climb on the property ladder which might not be the best move at my age but I made a 5-year plan, I'm sticking to it and this is a good start.
Pokerwise hasn't been a good year for me. My original plan was to hit nl100 but once again failed to get past nl20/25 which has been frustrating. Running nearly 10bb/100 below ev hasn't helped either.
Its getting kind of long so I'll stop now lol and move onto the new year
2013
Health/Gym
Not much to add really, I've always eaten well and I'm at a stage where I'm happy so just want to maintain that and not go on another 7/8 month binge.
Career
With what I'm doing there isn't really any 'moving up the limits' so again I'm hoping to just maintain. But with the recent addition of Tradimo I might start learning about the financial markets and begin trading them during the summer.
I'm signing up to do a PT course as I have a long term business plan in mind. I've already made some headway with my gym buddy but to take it to the next level I need to get qualified as well.
I'll also be doing some courses here throughout the year.
Poker
My goal with poker has never been nl100k and world domination. I've always just aimed to reach nl100 and make it a fairly profitable hobby. Unfortunately it still just isn't working. I've been donking around micros for nearly 2 years now and I seem unable to take that next step... I've had sweats from nl50/100 regs and they say that I've a pretty good grasp and wouldn't have played much differently to me before pointing out one or two small things. This year I've played around 300k hands and in the last 100k hands I'm running 10bb/100 below ev. Don't have the previous 200k hands but I've always run way below, its not as bad as 10bb/100 but its pretty awful still. I feel like I just need that moment of rungood to come along and give me the boost to push past nl20/25 and then I'm nearly at my goal. But it hasn't happened yet lol and lately I've begun to lose some motivation and felt like frustration has started creeping into my game.
And this is where PLO comes in! To get some motivation and love for the game back I needed a new challenge so at the beginning of this month I started playing PLO, and I'm really enjoying it! I'm up like $100 on plo2/5 this month in about 10k hands. PT4 isn't tracking all the hands so I've no idea of the exact number. I was also fortunate enough to get chosen for a Christmas coaching so I've put that off until the end of Jan which means I can get some more volume/experience in and hopefully be playing plo10. That way I can get the most out of the session. So with a new game and new challenge I'm feeling refreshed about poker in the new year so I'm calling 2013 the year of PLOwnage!
And to paraphrase some random fish: 'I'll play midstakes by the end of this year (2013)'
HOW did you manage to pick up weight like that?
Did you end up eating 5 seperate meals a day?
GYM? I'm considering not doing this at all because it can make me lose more weight.
Do you calorie count?
Amount spent a month on food?

Hey.
I eat more than 5 meals. Taking pre and post gym its 7/8 (including snacks). You want to be eating every 2.5-3 hours really. If your not working out then 5 meals is probably fine. If you want to put on some quick weight milk is pretty decent. But it's got tryptophan so you'll feel lethargic for large parts of the day if you drink a lot of it.
I would recommend you start working out though not only will it help you put on some mass you'll feel healthier overall.
I don't calorie count strictly but I do have a rough idea of how much I eat, its pretty important:
1 extra pound is about 3500 calories. So you should work out your BMR (google is your friend lol). Its just the amount of calories your body needs to carry out all its functions so if its 2k then eating 2.5k should put on a lb a week. 1 lb a week is a pretty good goal.
My monthly food bill is about e150-200.
If you keep track of what you eat for like a week and post it I'll comment on it for you
This sounds great,
I also had another person saying they don't really calorie count
I'm so damn frustrated right now that I can't do this in cambodia, because the expenses would be beyond unbelievable.
For instance
1 Gallon of Milk is 4$
Bacon is about 70 cents a slice
Spam is 5$
Cheese is about 80 cents a slice
Cereal is 6$ a box
these are just examples of how redic. everything is
So what other suggestions do you think I should take?
Should I just wait until I move to Mexico? (I will be going to a market in california called Costco that I always use to go to and had prices about half of what it would cost in cambodia).
Make sure you don't ignore calorie counting entirely though and know roughly how many calories your eating. I know guys in the gym who are eating like 6 times a day but calorie 'light' foods so they are only getting in about 2k calories which really isn't enough. (2k is probably ok for you though depending on how active you are).
How much longer are you in Cambodia for? It might be worth making a start...
What kind of foods can you get for a reasonable price?
Chicken/beef(/yak?)/eggs/fish? or any other meat?
Rice/pasta/noodles/potatoes?
Veg?
Olive oil?
Nuts?
Im either leaving between late march-april

^ Chicken,beef,eggs
Rice/pasta/noodles/potatoes?
Rice(its all I eat here)
Veg?
Not entirely sure.
Olive oil?
(yep i mean shouldnt be an issue its a one time buy)
Nuts?
(Think it would be a fairly hefty price)
I'd defo get started now if you're there for another 12 weeks.
Keep a food dairy for the next few days and a list of all the foods you can get for a decent price and I'll comment on it.
If your getting chicken/beef/eggs and rice for cheap you should be able to do it for a reasonable enough price!
Lmk what kind of veg you can get too.
Hah no longer planning to stay there for 12 weeks!
I'm currently planning to leave to mexico in about 3 weeks or so! So will be able to afford better food for cheap ♦.
Anyways keep up the updates man the years barely starting!!

Awesome dude! Lmk when you get settled and I'll do my best to help you out!
Does anyone fancy a volume prop bet for feb?
Struggling for volume/motivation atm...
My 3 step plan to crushing poker:
1) Sign up to New Betfair poker
2) Let your gf pick your screenname (this is the most important step)
3) Watch the money roll in:

Haha just been too busy with work to learn a new game. I'm still trying to play like 1k hands a week though to keep me sane! Here's the month:

I definitely want to play more plo in the future maybe next month will be a bit quieter and I can play/study some more. I'm trying to do 50/50 play/study atm and with limited time cba with the studying bit lol. So thats why nl has been most of Jan.
Maybe now I'm on ipoker I'll play a bit more. On microgaming there's usually only 4/5 plo2&5 tables which sucks a bit because you can end up playing on a table full of nits which wrecks my head!

Halfway through my second season with the mighty Blyth Spartans and looking good... Just check out that home form!
I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong away though...
And for some reason I'm silver again
Didn't get enough points last month...
Going to try another volume challenge this month... Thinking of going for 100k hands again if anyone is interested in a prob bet?
In case your wondering I miserably failed last time, I think I was like 30/40k hands off lol. And I've 5k hands in this month that I'll be counting towards the total.
So 95k hands to go!
Now to chose between Superbowl and Rambo...
