Well, that was a bit optimistic!
I can't seem to turn things around this month. Just finished a -4.5BI session at NL100. Looks like it will be a loosing month, -1k € atm. My goal is to get the EV-line at break-even. How sad is that
December = total pwnage, looking forward!
edit: decided to play couple more hands and managed to get back in the green for the day!

What can we seen in this graph?
a) failed shot at nl200
b) pretty much BE overall even though it's a total donkfest at microgaming. I 'm obviously one of the donks ![]()
I 'm gonna get me a coach soon so december will be pure pwnage!
Just read a pretty awesome post from 2+2 archive. Thought I'd share it with you guys and my future self. ![]()
Succes and failure (2+2 post by Gigabet)
Hey man, I read you and your gf are looking to go to Canada next year. Awesome! I'm thinking about it myself. Have you looked into where you'd want to stay?
Well, it 'll be in 2014 so still quite some time. We definitely want to move around but I 'm mostly interested in the western provinces (BC & Alberta). So we'll probably spend some time in Vancouver and the national parks (Jasper, Banff,...).
You have any idea where to stay yet? Are you planning on working there?

2012 recap
When I look back at where I was a year ago, I 'm definitely happy with the progress I've made. My BR is quite a bit above my expectations too. However, I feel like I still have to learn sooo much and I 'm not learning fast enough. I have no doubt about beating NL100 atm but still, I feel lost quite often. As I mentioned here before, I 'm getting coaching. I wired the money to the coach today, so no way back anymore! First coaching is planned in 2nd week of january, booked total of 6hrs coaching.
Wish I could post a graph from the entire year but I made a failed switch to HEM2 (from HEM1). HEM2 really sucks imo, lags a ton on my (old) pc. So decided to switch to PT4 but I couldn't get the HUD to work for a while, then updated+new database. HUD works now but lost about 10k hands. Really love PT4 now! ![]()
Anyway here 's my HEM1 graph, contains all hands but december.

So in december, I played at bwin and as such, also made the move to partynetwork. Contrary to my time at WPT-poker I am running really really good and people are fighting to give me there money first ♠_cool:. So I made best month ever, due to lost hands, not entirely sure about my exact winnings but it must be about 3.5k $ . Best month by far! ♠_cool:

So what will 2013 bring? Already rolled for nl200 but want I'm putting it off untill I'm more confident in my game. I do hope to play nl200 by the end of january though. If I manage to beat nl200, there is only one jump left to midstakes! Let's make it happen!
Non-pokerwise, 2012 might well have been the best year of my life: I enjoyed engaged/married life with my wife and made an awesome life changing honeymoon. Life changing because it made me realise I want to see much more of the world and open myself to people and opportunities more.
Enjoy new year's eve and see you guys in 2013!

So this year didn't start too well...

Running rather bad and consequently not playing that great either. Might take couple of days off now.
Booked my first coaching session and watched couple of vids last few days. Pwnage coming soon! ♠_cool:

Well I ended up having a huge hangover on saturday and postponed the session to today. I asked TT in his well how to prepare for coaching, he told me to make sure I was well rested.![]()

Anyway, coach was very understanding (I suspect him of being an expert on the matter as well ♦ ).So what did we talk about then? We went through my stats: openraise, 3bet, defend vs steal, barreling frequencies, folding vs barrels, raise vs cbet. Overall, my stats were quite okay so happy about that.
What I have to change mostly is more 3betting in SB and less in BB (more calling).
Then we went over some hands. I guess that we only watched 4 in total but it was quite deep and very interesting. It was interesting to hear him thinking about ranges. He has a range pinned down way faster and more accurate.
A topic we went into quite deep is defending vs 3bets, mostly oop. I thought I was defending too tight but he thought it was perfect so that's great. Don't have to worry about that anymore
Will also do some small 5betting from now on
Looking forward to next session already!
So I started the new year planning to continue my strong december '12 run. I felt like I was crushing my stake, eating the fish and making the other regulars cry themself to bed at night.
Well, the poker gods (=partypoker network RNG) had something else in mind for me. See graph:

This lasted untill the 21th of January, when my downswing peaked with a 9BI loosing session (all-time record!). On the 22nd of January it was more of the same misery: loosing flips, spewing off stacks and getting sucked out on. But at the end of the session, I managed to bring my graph back to break-even. It turned out to be the start of my comeback for the month! Since that day, I had zero loosing sessions and almost managed to rostucko the month. Including bonus, it's actually a green month.
22th January graph:

Whole month graph:

The last month definitely teached me a couple of things. First of all, during my downswing I made some questionable plays. I 'm still not fully capable of being patient when cards aren't coming my way. Every now and then, I tend to make a spewplay. Secondly, I realised that my opponents probably laughed themselves to sleep a couple of times. And most important, I realised how much I love this game and how bad I want to move up in stakes. Even though I was on the worst downswing of my life, I just wanted to keep playing. At one time, I thought it was best to take a break. So I forced myself to take 3 days off. After that, I just had to go back to the tables and play. Man, I love this game! ![]()
I also reached diamond status for the 2nd time. I put in almost 30k hands. That's probably not that impressive to most of you but if you know that I work fulltime and only start playing when my wife goes to bed (+ weekends of course), I think it's quite crazy. Last couple of weeks I probably slept no more then 6 hours a night on average.
There is something non-poker related that I 'd like to share here too. My wife is pregnant! So if all goes well, I should be a dad at about half August. We didn't plan it, so our plans for the future changed quite a bit. No more Canada in 2014. Still, we couldn't be more happy. For now, let's all pray for a boy!

Thanks for the congratz guys! ![]()
Yeah, I will obv love the kid just as much if it's a girl. Still, I won't be able to to boy/guy stuff with her. Don't want her to turn into a lesbian.
