And for security, please always check the link what you are about to click. Even if it is from a friend or someone you know. Just keep your pointer on the link for few seconds and you will see it usually. When you make a habit out of it, it increases your security a lot.

I was told by Stars that if the account was hacked via my PC (which it was!!) then it was my responsibility and that they were not liable for any losses . However they did investigate and return money to me.

Anyway, I'm very disappointed in Full Tilt.
Person who contacted me just gave me some standart bs; nor did they read or tried to understand my situation.
Basically they refused to refund which was lost, I will quote:
"Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse your funds, as they were lost in legitimate hands to legitimate players."
My translation is:
F*** you, as we are not legally obligated [keyword is "legally] so we will not do anything.
They even quoted me this:
"10.3 The User is obliged to keep his/her Login Credentials secret and confidential at all times and to take all efforts to protect their secrecy and confidentiality. Any unauthorised use of the Login Credentials shall be the sole responsibility of the User and be deemed as his/her use. Any liability therefrom shall be that of the User."
Bla bla bla.... Well I would certainly understand if I had like thousands in my account and they would gave me this quote and refused to refund my account.
But damn, they don't have $40??? Will Full Tilt go broke if they took out 40 USD? How much do they earn in day or even in hour?
It just shows to me that main priority is money; they know my account was hacked they will not do anything because the law is their side not mine.
They didn't even try to understand or reply of some of my questions, just ignored and gave me some standart responses...
Human is second priority - nice approach.
To be honest I'm very upset by this attitude; those $40 are quite big for me now.

I can if this is appropriate copy full chat between me and them, if someone is interested and if I'm allowed of course do it legally.
but if the money was gambled away - how fulltilt can now take them away from players who won that money, assumeing this was not chipdumped to one player?
I mean I would not like my money deducted from my account if I won them by making decitions and risking my money.

I also had lost my money, but by the poker room fault - they literally stole my money by bancrupting like fulltilt was. Purple lounge was that room. And they owe me about 140 euros.

I think if they would do that, then people start would not care about security and next time someone with 100K $ also would ask them to repay because someone stole their account.

How did you get on with 2+2 or is that a lost cause?
I also use diff passwords at sites that matter ie Bank, Skrill Stars etc.
I also have Security Keys for these accounts.

PS Just try and treat it as another lesson in life.
I try to never make the same mistake twice (apart from in poker!!) as there are
so many new ones for me to explore.
A few things, you should have contacted a MOD on 2p2 immediately to protect this from happening to others. Obv, someone sophisticated enough to come up with this plan probably is able to change IP addresses etc.
Before clicking any link from any email, site etc you should read the link. All programs will show URLs usually at the bottom left corner of the application. Also, as a habit when told to click a link like that you should just manually type in the website ie www.twoplustwo.com in this case and go from there.
Lastly get a copy of Avira, it is a free anti virus program although it does have annoying pop ups.
check out password software like keypass which allows complex and different passwords everywhere without having to know them
personally I use a 3 level system
level 1: sites which are not super important I have the the same "simple" pw everywhere
level 2: sites with money / private data / importance I have a base password + hash, which means I have a different pw on each site but it's easily memorable as the hash function is simple and the seed is something that is site unique (like second letter of the name)
level 3: things that if hacked mess up the world, like top level email , have a unique unbreakable password

you mean keepass i guess and yes its a great software...you can use it also on your smartphone or tablet. I highly recommend it. There was an article on PS some time ago and it was about how to make your computer and passwords the most secure and also KeePass was mentioned and recommended.
