Keep the updates coming! That last hand was a very very nice read!!!! You mentioned a timing tell, he waited a long time or was it an insta tell?

Did you enlist yourself for the 'Set your Goal on xxxxx yearly VPPs' on Pokerstars?

Morning guys,

Well he instabet the turn and tankchecked the river. Usually this means an easy decision on turn (probably Kx+) and a difficult decision on the river. Then on the river a check means: Kx, bluff given up or a trap. However though, a fast river check always mean Kx (or bare 7x). Not a single brain cell from him will think about betting, his decision is easy, he will just c/c. He did however act fast. This can ofc mean that he was trying to think of a bluff but that doesnt rly matter since we beat bluffs and we wont get value from them anyways (just very occasionally he will c/r bluff here, and this is actually a bad thing cause i dont think we can call here against most players cause they are more weighted to value). So its looks very trappy. He can ofc have QT or a 7x but I think he would much rather bet QT, he doesnt want to c/r with that and dont want a Kx or 7x to check behind. We do lose some value from 7x but here again, his decision with bare 7x is easy and fast, its c/c.

I didnt set my goal yet since you can do it till the last day of this month. Setting it earlier would be a little foolish imo. You never know what will happen. But yeah Im gonna go for the 300k obviously :).

Allright off to grind!

Dang, had a pretty swingy day again :]

Was playing some 1k en 2k in the morning but lost some stacks there, all pretty std tho i think. Then grinded it back up 12-15 tabling midstakes. Then got some heads up action from a big whale at 600, but he won every single hand :P. Then got another big whale hu on 1k shallow and then I won every hand :f_biggrin:. And grinded a little bit more after that just on regular midstakes. Pretty sure it was my biggest rake day ever, $853.

Didnt really have time during the session to mark the really interesting ones so I just went with potsize. Atm not that much else happening in real life.

Next week it will be Sinulog again here in Cebu. Which is like a parade that attracts more people than the carnaval in Rio so pretty sick stuff will happen soon :f_love:

Hope to grind some more again tomorrow. This SNE quest is actually harder than I thought :P. Probably will need to 12-14 table now as a std. We'll see how it goes cause I dont really wanna let it influence me too much. On my limits, winnings are much more important than rakeback.

Cheers!

@Desk: I will update later tonight. Im at Negros atm for a few days with my gf, but Ill be heading back home tonight.

@Aviv: Yeah, this is really std. People will get it in with all pairs+draws, even just a bare fd. The big thing is in the fact that we have a gutshot. Bare AA with very few backdoor draws will probably be a fold (I would generally check those back though).

Heres a simulation that will very clearly state my point:
First example is AA without a gs vs a hand like 57xx
ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation
6,056,520 trials (Exhaustive)
board: 5♣J♥7♣

Hand |Pot equity |Wins |Ties
Ad Td 2h As|24.59% |1,487,670|2,881
57|75.41% |4,565,969|2,881
Then we include our gutshot and look at how are percentage skyrocketed
ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation
6,056,520 trials (Exhaustive)
board: 5♣J♥7♣

Hand |Pot equity |Wins |Ties
Ad Td 9h As|35.73% |2,148,263|31,852
57|64.27% |3,876,405|31,852
So jumping from a 25 to a 36% is VERY significant and that becomes the reason why its a very easy stackoff. Its not that I am happy about getting the money in, but im very sure that my hand has the right get-it-in-equity vs his range.

@aviv: no worries

Took almost 2 weeks off from poker which of course is too long of a time but it started off with some health issues in the beginning. I had to rest for a couple of days and go to the doctor for tests etc but nothing too big. After that my gf came here to celebrate Sinulog (maybe the worlds biggest parade/festival, around 5mil people) and to finish off with a few days of holiday in Negros.

Didnt really take any pictures during Sinulog cause I went there as well last year and then I took plenty. Anyways some impressions of Negros/Dumaguete:

The resort

We went biking+hiking to Twin Lakes National Park but it was a rather rainy and foggy day

I actually dyed my hair before the trip but I didnt really like it, so I shaved it all off :P, heres what it looked like before + with my gf

Gonna try and do some grinding again today although I actually started fasting since sunday evening just to detox my body and give my digestive system a rest. Probably will eat something again for dinner.

Lately I have also been reading a lot about real estate investing. Wil probably start a company in this real soon too.

Cheers

So the month is over and having some mixed feelings about it.

Good things:
- Did spent a lot of great time with my gf and I'm really happy with her. Havent felt this much love in probably my entire life
- Ran hot. It was welcome after running almost 20k below EV in December.

Bad things:
- Didn't play as much as I wanted, but given that I traveled for 4-5 days and that my gf was here for 10 days its reasonable.
- Had some health issues that lasted for almost 2 weeks, but feeling better now which is great.

Number recap:

Winnings: $22,109.65
Rake: $6,214.61
Rakeback (40%): $2,485.84

Profit: $24,595.49

Hands: 42,072
Hours: 91:03
Winrate: 15.11bb/100 (9.06 EV adjusted so did run pretty good at the higher limits)
VPP Count: 33172/83000 (SNE pace)

Graph:

I think this actually might be my best month ever, but ofc EV helped me so it doesnt feel like a big month.

Goals for February:

- Play more, try to maintain SNE pace. I think it will be hard though since it contradicts a little with my table selecting play style but I will try. If I see it is not really working out too well, no worries. If I will be palying 1k etc a lot more in the future I dont really care about those extra 10-15% rakeback its just not worth the cut in your winnings.
- Read more about real estate. Im getting to a point where I should really start investing my money/savings into something. Real estate is probably one of the best fields to do that in, so I am reading tons of books and forums about this. I want to continue doing this in February
- Move to Manila. Ill be moving to Manila in about 10 days from now. The distance with my gf is just too far and I can't handle it anymore. I will be going to a pokerhouse there as well.
- Eat healthy and work out: My roommates from Manila are all gym and health freaks so I will have to join them in their quest :f_biggrin:.

Thats it for now, wish me luck achieving these goals :f_cool:
