NL5 DS - KK - BB vs SB 3-Bet pot - T+R? [01.29]

Hi David,

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: On average, a fishy player taking the line of ck/call and ck/raise turn is almost always a strong play.

I would say that his range is at least 2p (Q9), 3x, sets.

Considering how deep we are I think that we should bet/fold the turn there against unknown because our 1p, in a 500 BB pot, is definitely overplayed.

It's true that we beat Q9 but that's about it (from his value range) and we are putting in (including turn call) 200 BB on essentially a bluff catch.

I think that so many Qx is in villains range. What about this?

this passive player never takes this line with QX. He would have either called the turn again, or raised the flop. It's just a classic fish mentality. He wants you to put in as much money as possible before raising the turn with his nutted hands.

As I mentioned in my first post you will rarely ever have fishy guys raising a Qx like this. If they want to raise their TP they do so on the flop rather than the turn.

That's why I usually say rarely

If he does this 2 out of 10 times we can profitably call there. It happens that they occasionally show up with Qx but it's the exception rather than the rule.
