I really do think I'm playing a lot better this last couple of months, maybe I'm just drinking too much wine or delusional - or both. 'Playing better' doesn't necessarily imply 'good' by the way.
Oooo I could show some beaut bad ones from this week! I was thinking of changing my game to 70/50, damn they just own me lately.

Godmode temporarily disabled. ?(

There's a lot of that going around.
On the weekend, I had the worst downswing at 5-Card Draw I've had since well, ever.

I thought it must have been me, so i checked my database and I got far fewer decent hands (trips or better) than usual, and not only that, I won far fewer of them.

I was bloody shell shocked by the time it was done.

<sigh>

I've decided to spam your blog with random heavy rock songs. I'm fed up with posting in my own blog and I was amused by the response to the last one. Just remember not to play them too quietly. Enjoy.

Well I was going to complain about yobs posting musical graffiti in my blog, but then I got my godmode status back, listened and found that I actually liked those. Wtf is going on with me lately, is JB posting subliminal messages in the vids, or what!? ?(
I doubt they would appreciate me saying this, but the first one was nice. The second one was excellent surprisingly, once it got going. Maybe it's because they're not that totally out and out slamming thrash crap I can bare it.

That fish is me after the same villain's third 2 outer in a row hits.

In other news, mrs gadget is not a well bunny today, she fell loads of times on the snow and eventually hurt her hip, so I have banned her from work on Monday and will be grinding my little arse off (hhmmmm, suspect phrasing there) to earn enough to cover the day's pay. It shouldn't take more than a session or two, she's cheap [just don't tell her I said that!]. :f_eek: How nice am I? This nice '----------------'.

So, glass of wine and 12 tables of nl4/nl10 whichever is cosiest and off we jolly well go...init?

Mal Igned out.

Right, that's fukt it! Now listen carefully for I vill say deess only wance hokay! When I raise and hit top set on a nothing board and we get it all in, you are NOT supposed to hit a higher set on the fukin turn, OK! Fives times this morning, jeeze.
Having fun, playing very well (mostly), not getting too drunk during a session and mrs gadget's on the mend. It's all good. :f_love:
Back to bullying nl4 regs about for a bit of confidence building for a couple of days then it's up 'n' at 'em again. _evil:

How scary would this be if you were a bystander!? Scarier then mrs gadget first thing in the morning? Unlikely, but just as funny.

It's good to have a nice comfortable br for the limit, it's just so much fun.

Given the inclement weather lately, here's some posh people getting it on down with their homies:

Malapropism singing out.

So, for some reason known only to Holdem Manager itself, it works again. Oh of course, it's Wednesday, duh.

Mrs gadget saw the sun and decided to walk to work with a bruised hip and my part mastiff, growly; hackles up and barking like a loonie if a bird lands on the lawn guard dog - invited a neighbour in because he brought a sausage for her!
However, the dog doesn't go out at the moment, presumably because the cats will laugh at her. She was being a pest while I was dying mrs gadget's hair brown and I ruffled the dog's ear without thinking...it's hard to look tough with one ginger ear I suspect.

Pokerwise, I'm trying to analyse spots to take pots down with little or no equity and when not to try it. The awkward bit is the stats are mostly anon stuff, so I'll need to work something out. I think if I can find these spots more I can win maybe 1/3 my winrate again on top of my already crushing ownage. Guessing of course.

Watched pleno1's coaching last night and managed to pick a couple of things out that stuck onto my brain, a bit like chewing gum on a shoe. So I fire up HM2 and play a short session just to try things out and bugger me if they didn't work! :f_eek: His coachings are far different to anyone else's at micros, mainly because he just has fun playing.
I do have a gripe or two but then I'm British so what did you expect ffs!? He goes way too fast for me, it's an hour and a half and he's non-stop talking and playing fast fold tables and I'm old and get a bit left behind. By the time we've been there an hour I've forgotten what he said at the start. Yes I have started to take notes, but the context gets lost sometimes and playing like pleno1 in a vacuum at nl4 nofoldemholdem can get expensive!
Anyhooo, I tried it and it works, all I have to remember is when/who/why and we're off!
Here's my giraffe for this morning for interest's sake and just because hm2 works. Not exactly godmode yet, too spewy, but ok.

Wow Ijust realised, a post just about poker? Wtf!? Back to nl10 by the weekend.

Aw, c'mon Mal, give the poor guy a break.

He had hit the flop and had a backdoor flush draw
Besides, he probably saw Tom Dwan do this move on TV

More likely watched me stack off the same way and thought it looked like fun.

Changing my plan this week. I have 330 Euros-ish but don't feel particularly comfortable playing nl10 with that, so I'm going back to nl4 until I get 400+. Playing nl4 with this br is allowing me a freedom of experiment not really open to me at nl10. It could be that I'm so used to playing with an irreplaceable bankroll that risk aversion is my standard disposition. I'll be playing 10/8 soon and everybody will know I'm old and take the piss. Oh wait...

Good grief it's sunny! I wonder if it'll last long enough to dry the garden? I hope not I fkn hate gardening and don't get me started on phaffin' about with flowers! As suitable as it may be for Argentinians with a bee fixation, it's not for the likes of lazy bastards like yours truly, who would rather indulge himself in a little Halo Reach or Halflife2...or anything that involves doing sod all much really.
Was enjoying the Superbowl until I fell asleep but it seemed a good game. My game knowledge though, has been biodegrading since the likes of Jerry Rice and Emmet Smith and suchlike when I could pick the winner every year.

Anyway, here's a couple of hands to ease the boredom of me talking crap again:

Prima, $0.02/$0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

BB: $1.46 (36.5 bb)
Hero (UTG): $9.34 (233.5 bb)
MP: $4.44 (111 bb)
CO: $3.12 (78 bb)
BTN: $3.13 (78.3 bb)
SB: $4.91 (122.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q A
Hero raises to $0.12, MP folds, CO calls $0.12, 3 folds

Flop: ($0.30) T A 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.14, CO raises to $3 and is all-in, Hero folds

A passive 41/6 and not too tough a laydown for me being a nit today.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prima, $0.02/$0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

UTG: $4.75 (118.8 bb)
MP: $5.38 (134.5 bb)
Hero (CO): $5.86 (146.5 bb)
BTN: $4.18 (104.5 bb)
SB: $1.36 (34 bb)
BB: $9.43 (235.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q A
UTG calls $0.04, MP folds, Hero raises to $0.12, BTN calls $0.12, SB folds, BB calls $0.08, UTG calls $0.08

Flop: ($0.50) A 3 A (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $0.32, BTN calls $0.32, BB folds, UTG calls $0.32

Turn: ($1.46) K (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.72, BTN calls $0.72, UTG calls $0.72

River: ($3.62) J (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $2.40, UTG calls $2.40, Hero folds

BU played this terribad imo. UTG is a whale and BU is a nit. Given I raised and bet twice, what does he beat on the river that might call except exactly the hand I have or AJ? Not a lot silly person.
Anyway, after the flop I got nervous and after the turn I knew, he has 33 or AK all day everyday, even on holiday. The whale could have anything but likely the case ace, a turned Kx or a stubborn pocket pair maybe?. Meh.

It's never fun folding these.

hey mal!

that last hand is pretty interesting... imo bet the turn bigger because we can be pretty sure you're up against another Ax hand which you obviously have crushed. on the river i really dunno what the best line would be because it's such a crappy runout but we can't assume QT to be in someone's range for calling flop and turn and you also block a Q which makes it a bit less likely. vs a nit on the river it's probably okay but there could be some value in there from weaker Ax hands otherwise. and if you're up against really bad players you might get value from 3pair! did you post this for evaluation?

yes, pot. Which to me at the moment means

pot (/pät/)
Noun

1. A container, typically rounded and of metal, used for storage or cooking.

or gardening.
