Stakes You'd Like The Game To Be At: given that taavi and Dawnfall will be there, as high as possible pls! But seriously, I think somewhere around .5/1 could be okay, don't make it too low, cause it might become less serious for guys playing higher. I think given everybody's reaction so far, .5/1 would be a good spot.
Also given the high number of applicants, it's possible a tournament would be more sufficient.
Don't really think it is a good idea to mix us microstakes players with 5/10 guys. Maybe two separate games/tables would be in order, especially if it's gonna be .50/1+.
if seriousness is the problem then I think there is very little difference between 2c/4c and 0.5/1 for many of us ![]()
I think it should either be as high as possible in which case Im not really that keen on doing it since I see very little point or we make it low. ... if we are after the correct play I guess it shouldnt really matter which stakes we are on
Given the number of applicants so far I think we might be stretching this one to 2 homegames....maybe more ![]()
We'll segregate the players as much as we can although I actually had an idea last night about if we don't get 6 higher stakes players (say only 4-5) we could have a couple of the micro guys "graduate" into the game with the mid-stakers just to see how they could hold their own
This will not be a game to damage your BR guys, it's a game where you can learn so play your best
@Dawn, Boomer: I didn't mean us per se, more like the guys who will be tempted to play weird lines when it's cheap or when it's against coaches/hand judges, therefore not giving a fair representation of their game. Happened sometimes in homegames I've been before, especially with lower stakes players.
@squat: I don't really think that makes sense, cause most of the guys playing similar stakes either play against each other, or against people who play very similarly. I believe this is more like an opportunity for smaller stakes players to play against and learn from players who are much higher up in stakes - without actually having to pay as much. So I don't see why limits should stick together, on the contrary...
in my opinion if a player here cant be serious in his game even if its 2c/4c (which i still think the game should be in due to the fact not all of us has 200+ dollar bankrolls.) then he doesn't deserve to be included in this idea of playing homegames. and getting help from boomer / dats. and whom else wants to help etc.
bottom line: if you cant be serious due to lower stakes/the given stake. go away
Your not serious about trying to improve.

I agree totally. we used to have something like this in the Finnish community at Full Tilt at play money tables and people didn't really have a problem playing their a-game.
