Ok, we WANT to have a 3bet value range, a calling range and a 3bet bluffing range, vs regs.

Is this generally the case that we want 50% Value 50% Bluffs? Or does this change, when Villain has higher or lower FT3bet? I.e. if he has 80% Ft3bet, shouldn't our 3bet Range consist of 20% Value and 80% Bluffs?

Generally, we should aim to have 50% bluffs, 50% value hands, just from a balanced perspective, but we can always manipulate this. For example, Btn opens, we 3bet AJs from the SB, this is initially for value because he will peel JQ/JK and worse aces, but when he 4bets we decide to fold :)

If somebody has an exploitive stat then its likely we don't need to be balance vs them. For example, if it folds to us in the SB and somebody folds to 55% of steals, we should open 100%, once they change their strategy we can then start choosing different hands for different parts of our range.

questions:

1.I filtered over 300k hands and when i'm calling a 3b pot ( mostly IP ) i'm losing money ,should i flat more QQ+ and AK hands?

2. Let's say u have TcTh on QT4ss board after u call a 3b ( his range for 3betting is like 10% and cbet 70% ) should u raise for balancing purpose because u can raise with fd's and oesd's or just call to have a stronger calling range.

3. I think internet or ifs said that we don't have to have all lines possible in our playing style but we have to have all the hands in the line we take ( it was something like check raising wet boards with both nuts and backdoors and stuff ) .
I started to check a lot of the time when i have let's say JJ+ on 225 after i 3bet because they always bet in position there and sometimes i check AK/AQ too. Or is it better to just double barrel with the entire range? I guess this should be opponent specific, right?

4. We need videos about adjusting and meta-game ,i keep failing at that

5. I had an 150k upswing for like 10bb/100 and ran over ev a lot ,now for the last 150k hands i'm breaking even and the winrate is 5bb/100 ( the ev adjusted winrate is around 3bb/100 ) and this is for nl200+nl100 . Playing ussually 10-12 tables , could this be normal or are the regs just adjusting better then i am adjusting?

Thanks for taking the time to teach us :f_biggrin:

Hey man, hows it going? Nice avatar you have there sir ;)

1) Generally, people 3bet too much (not balanced range ;)) and thus vs 4bets they fold too much. I generally 4b 4/6 of my combos of AA/KK and call the other 30% of the combos, meaning that my calling range is strong whilst exploiting my opponents.

2) I think I would rather raise QK for thin value than TT's in this spot, KQ could have a difficult decision on lots of turns, but I'm not folding TT on any turn, helps us balance our range if we want to raise draws otf.

3) Generally, if we are playng NL100+ we want to have a calling range when we check, otherwise we just always c/f, I don't think JJ is strong enough to check, s would prefer to use AK/AQ/AA in my check calling range.

4) Bootcamp? :)

5) Your win rate is still v v v good, however as regs get more hands on you they will be able to play better.

Have you ever had a period/time that you just wanted to give up playing poker and just leave it all behind?

If so, what changed your mind?

If you were starting out again from the beginning of your poker career would you do anything differently giving what you know now?

If you could sit at a 6 max cash game with 5 PokerStars "Pros" who would they be and why?

No, I get periods of time where I'm too busy to grind and just accept it.

Wouldn't have done too much different, probably would have booked a 4-5 session course with a coach when at NL100, literally everybody playing NL100 NEEDS a coach or to really study a lot if they are to succeed.

Erm, the 5 worst ones I guess, not sure who they are but some female ones I guess.

Lex (fun game but would prefer to be in position
Negreanu (on my right, will never fold to 3bets, will print money
Pleno1
Rafa Nadal (moniez)
Jake Cody (nice guy, plays decent)
Boris Becker (moniez)

What's your 3bet and call strategy on BB, when facing single open raise from good reg on UTG (6max), who has 15% openraise?
And on SB?

Well from Sb will play different to BB, will call pairs more in BB than SB because better price/closing action.

Generally though, I'm not 3betting wide for value, so similarily don't 3bet bluff much either. I usually add AKo/s into my 3bet bluff range as well.

Vs 11% I just play super tight and vs 18% play v loose and also defend more and c/r as its likely they have a lot of broadways like KTo and I can rep v strong post flop.

I know this question might sound silly, but I'd like to know what's the optimal 3 betting % in an average table in your opinion? Thanks

hello pleno
against a villain that open tight fom late position
has a fold to 3bet of 50-60
and almost never 4bets
has a cbet flop between 70-80 and a turn cbet of 50-60

opens
BU 30-35%
CO 20-25%

When i hold hands like AJ KQ and other hands in that strenght area in the blinds.
im not sure what the best play is.

should i just 3bet since i have some fold equity preflop and im not getting bluffed of my hand preflop since he is not 4bet bluffing. and i have an okay hand postflop when he calls.

or is it better to call pre and keep his range wider.

normaly i 3bet those hands from SB and in BB i sometimes 3bet and sometimes call.

the problem is when i just call im not really sure what my plan is postflop
i often have around 200 hands on those players so i have some information on their post flop play but not enough so i feel comfortable playing OOP

i also thought about just folding the hands since he is not opening wider but that seems to weak

You had one spot in the coaching where SB raised, you called. SB checked flop to you and you bet while you told us that u would 3bet if he would check/raise since he reps so few valuehands.

So we should ship here?

Poker Stars $50.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 2092093

My question here for you!

I'm just trying to balance my range a bit and see in equilab which hands to defend from each position vs 3bets and which I can fold. Just getting my frequencies right u know. And this would be vs a good regular who also 3bets with good freq. Now my first range which I'm constructing is defendrange with our tight utg range (I mean a utg range which is on the tighter side because for example a maniac is behind us). I see we need to defend approx 47 combo's and it's easy because QQ+ and AK are 34 combo's. The thing is: QQ+ and AK = 4b/broke. So if we only call JJ and AQs (and TT), can't villain exploit or callingrange because it's so small? And also can exploit our 4b range because it's only value? So fold JJ and 4betbluff AQ? Or should we just defend more? I don't know

Okay that's copied from or chat :P. Now let me explain what I mean with tight range:

134 combo's: 66+, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs, AJo+, KQo

We need to defend approx 47 combo's and QQ+, AK = 34 combo's. We need to find 13 more combo's which is easy. We can call TT, JJ, AQs. Now we have 50 combo's. But our 4bet range still isn't balanced so we need to 4bet some hands, AJs, ATs, KQs, AJo.. But this makes or defendrange rly wide already. Is this a problem lol?

The problem is that villain has such an easy time playing that callingrange. So how to fix this?
- Only 4bet and never call a 3bet.
- Call more hands like TJs

I don't know what is best tbh and I don't think I can play hands like TJs OOP so maybe only 4bet or fold? Well, than it sucks to have JJ :P

PLEASE HELP ;)

Now part 2: Our looser UTG range (198combo's) - 22+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, T9s, ATo+, KJo+.
Defend approx 70 combo's.
Actually pretty much the same problem again. I would like to hear what you prefer to 4bet/fold and just flat with.
flat AQs, JJ, TT and 4bet AQo, AJs, ATs, QKs would already give us the amount of combo's we need but again the problem is our face-up callingrange.

Is there a way to fix this?

EDIT: Another question. Let's say you open QJs en TJs on the CO and BTN is a good aggro reg (let's take lnternet ). Do you almost always just flat these hands? Or even fold?

hola,

"hero 600k hands 17/15" get that aggression up mate!

Pre flop looks way too big, I'd just go $1-$1.25.

On the flop I would call and fold to aggression on the turn, when we c/r as a bluff I don't expect him to barrel off and when he does barrel off its when we've improved (8 or 9) which is good for us :)

noooesss everybody tells me about those stats :P. I actually think I already told you in judgings that those stats are not correct. FR and MTT is mixed with SH I think.

I play like 28/23 lately :]

ty btw I shipped it and he had T8 butttt I won

Oh and BB is 50c so raising to $1 or $1.25 is way too low. I guess u thought it was NL25
