How funny poker is. Yesterday it went bad and today was different story. Mine red line is still incredible and i know i have few leaks in my post flop game. i think i do it pretty decent preflop. Today i went through HE forum for NL25 and got some impression how it should be. It is better forum then for NL10 and also judges describe things in different a bit deep way.

My biggest leak is i think that i am to passive postflop after i show some agression and don't hit. Sometimes i make some advaced moves on turn and then i am affraid of betting river. This is i guess my biggest leak and as a result of this is my red line. I still have like more then 10bb/100 winning rate but i am wandering how can i still improve and if this is enaugh for giving a chance to NL25.

I've decided that i will go through NL25 HE forum before every session and took a look at hands and the way ppl think and of course our jdges thought. I think it helped me a lot today.

So let see how is in poker. Here is my result of yesterday.

And here is from today.

It is incredible how things change and i already did many times like today and also many times like yesterday. I really don't have any problems with mindset since i don't bother a lot when i loose and even when i win but it seems really like there is something different form one day to another.

So i will try to spend a bit more time on NL25HE forums also to check how the game is there and of course get as much knowlage as possible.

I think right now our pro judges are just great and they are doing a fantastic job.

Till next time....good luck at the tables.

dunno what format u play, but there isnt much difference between nl10 and nl25 imo.... so if u have no problem beating nl10, u should do fine @ nl25, dont worry, people are just as stupid there :)

Nice blog! I am thinking about starting my own at some point since I am doing a bankroll challenge starting over from NL4 - I'm sick and tired of being breakeven at NL100/200.

Cool to follow and read your progress, do you have a graph over all your hands since you started this blog?

Thanks Zumpar and SteffenBAOPP. It is actually something new for me that someone is really reading this. It is somehow very nice to know that. Thank you both.

@SteffenBAOPP...oh i cannot imagine right now playing NL100 or even more NL200 so you must be very good player already.

I will post my graph about current progress tomorrow sice it is time for bed now and of course i have to work tomorrow :f_biggrin: Yeah most fishes have to work first and then playing poker :f_cool: :f_cool:

Again thanks guys for your nice words.

@SteffenBAOPP i promissed you my progress graph yesterday so here it is.

Overal it is 7.3bb/100hands. Just january it is a bit more then 10bb/100hands

Now a bit of analysing NL20-NL50 forum.

Here is an example of how poker is. Our gread judge say i maybe, i maybe...of course there is so much option. First of all i like the idea not to restealing that A :spade:8 :spade: hand. This restealing ranges are still a bit of mistery for me when to do it correctly and when not.
Here is the hand: A8s

Here is again an interesting thinking by our judge. How villain see our hand and not how we thin he has. This is a perspective which can turn a lot our thinking and can take our thinking and our poker on higher level. I just want to stick with this idea but it is not that easy to apply this in our brains while playing.
Here is the hand:Nl25 Sh Aa

Again wise words for stealing hands by our pro judge Bogdan: "Preflop: similarly to the other 3-bet hands we don't really want to 3-bet hands that are easily dominated by his calling range."
Here is the hand:QTs

For now this is it...i took a look also on other hands and it is very interesting and i think very important to hear those thoughts from our judges. I hope i can improve my game significally with studing this oftgen a bit more tricky hands.

the AA hand..... if there even is value otr, it is still very very thin... what are u hoping to get called by here? 77, 88 probably wont call.... some Jx floats probably will, if he even has those

so ur pretty much vbetting vs nothing... 6 combos of TT, if he even plays them this way, unlikely JA/JK/JQ floats... thats it... on the other hand there is 44,9T,89,J9s,97s etc...

therefore i'd probably bet river very small, some blocker/merge bet of $3.5-$4 and fold to a raise, his line just screams of value

:)

EDIT: sorry only just now relized the AA hand wasnt yours

Hehe not a problem at all...it is interesting to take a look at others hand isn't it? Somehow we are not so emotional when judging them. But it is obv interesting also that we see ourselfs in them doing almost the same mistakes as our PS fellows. It is so hard to fold AA isn't it?

Well i found a very big leak in my game. And this is for sure to big cbetting. I was putting in like 66% of pot in 3bet pots and i think that costed em a lot of money and maybe this all connects with my very bad non show down winning line. I was somehow almost automatically using 2/3pot bets and i think that with it lost a lot of money. Will i still got pretty decent winning rate and i hope i will do even better with better betting size.

I will have to put some hands to evaluate regarding size betting.

Here is today's session with adjusted betting sizing as i mantion in previous post and i think results are seen here. This is my first session ever i geuss when i controlled pretty well my non-showdown line. I am so proud of it.

So i adjusted my betting sizing and the result it that i still can bet pretty easily on turn or as a semi bluff or bluff and of course for value. Before that adjustment i ended many times betting 2/3 pf pot in 3 bet pots and then i didn't know exactly what to bet on turn to make villain go all in on river since pot was already to big.

On the other point of view i think i made villians fold to many hands when i hit and to many calls when i didn't hit (so it is more chances they did :f_confused:) and the villain's call really paralyzed me because again i couldn't make proper bluff bet on turn since every size would be inappropriate.

With that adjustment i think i am doing so much better now and i just hope i can apply this in further games to.

Here is today's graph.

I just hope this is not a coencidence and i can keep with this trend in future sessions.

Good luck to all

More i study less i know. :f_cool: 3 days in a row break even. Red line gets better but now blue line suffers :f_cool:. Have t keep the great work in future. I work alot on HE forum try to read all judges thoughts on different situation and try to apply those in my game. Now i don't know if there is just a time when i don't get enough hands to extract enough value or i am doing something wrong.

I will have to analyse my game and continue on my work.

The end of the weak is here and here is the result of this weeks play. I studied somehow a lot and i was thinking about words that our professional hand judges wrote to others in HE forum. I think i made some of the highest improvement in my game. I am so more focused on bet sizing and i have to say also that i include din my game a lot of bluff induces.

I still struggle with so unnecessary calling down hands when i know i am beaten.

I added also one hand in discussiion on our HE forums:
here it is: JJ line with overcard on turn

I have a plan to start with NL25 at the beginning of the march soi have to train here a lot. It will be for sure a bit harder there.

There is of course a lot to improve and study but i finality feel a bit more comfortable in post-flop game. I also added few hand for re-steal that works pretty decent but of course there is no 4 bet bluff range currently, because player pool is so soft that i don't need it. Also game is pretty passive and i hardly find a player who has 3bet of more than 5%. So because of that also i act a bit more passively specially preflop.

Good luck at the tables guys and i wish you all great start of the next week.

Here is graph of this week:

Hi, Alan!

First - thank you for posting on my thread about hand analyse.

What I have to say about red and blue line is that I have tried several ways of playing during my carreer.

Before getting coachings my red line suffered a lot and was just like yours.
After the coachings it was going in various directions.
And here are the reasons that change its way:
1. When you start to multi barrel doubtable flops that do not hit anyone then your red line improves significantly. But then your blue line goes out of controll and it takes green line down with it because opponents adjust and start to float with mediocre holdings and go to showdown more often.
2. Real spew begins when you continue to look for opportunities to multibarrel and forget to watch value hands that you target and then make several large laydowns or missplayed showdowns.

Now I am trying to play tight postflop, bet mostly for value. And time to time float or take down few obvious flops where I have position and aggressor image so I can represent a hand.

So far both lines look steady and looking upward without zigzag but just occasional (variance affected) jumps/falls.

Good luck with moving up the limits.

Thank you very much ilioas for your comment. I also think that the problem is that we care to much about red line :f_cool:. Only the green one is that really matters, but graphs look so cute with red line around zero .

Thank you for stopping by and i wish you all good luck a the tables too.

Hi Alan, really nice thread you got here. Really like the mindset and studying hands to catch mistakes. We learn from ours and others.
Started 4 years ago and i have sometimes the same feeling : "More i study less i know". sometimes is just a matter of having your ideas in place. you can never find anything in a messed up place.
Anyway going to follow your progress, keep it up

Played pretty well today but probably made two mistakes.

Added those two hands to evaluate:
NL10SH KK dacing A river vs fish
and
NL10SH J9 set on turn

Few posts ago i also said that i will took a look at video series called Knowing me, Knowing you and i still didn't do it, so shame on me. I am thinking about doing it for weekend and not play poker at all. Just study. i will also write here my thought and things that i will learn and may think could be useful also for others. With 1.3.2013 i will start playing NL25 so i think i have to prepare myself to a bit more thought game.

here is also today's graph. :f_cool:. Nice EV line because i won two flips :f_biggrin:

Spoiler

See you soon guys and good luck at the tables.

Romci is a guy who i try to convince that he starts play poker seriously but he doesn't listen to me :f_biggrin:. Maybe one day he will have his own blog too.

He is typical reg fish currently without any BRM.

C mon Romci. Let's do it:)
