Being the clutz i am i managed to drop my external hard drive last night onto concrete. it had my last couple of days uni work on it, which wasn't on my laptop. sucks to be me!

Anyway i plug the hard drive into my laptop, the red light comes on and it flickers for the first minute and makes a little noise then the noise stops but the light still stays on.
The computer says that the drivers a installed correctly and its ready to use, but it doesn't pop up with auto play, or in my computer.

Any ideas whats happened, or is it destined for the bin?

btw I'm not at one with technology, so Lehman's terms would be appreciated!

I'm afraid you blew it but you should have a technician check it in case you can salvage something.

If it has some data on it that you'd ideally need to keep then take it to a Shop and see if they can take it apart to salvage the data.

looked like it will cost £60 to get anything.... my work isn't worth that much. i just worked 10 hours straight on Wednesday and Thursday to catch up most of it!

To the bin it shall go!
