Hey!

Since you seem to be rather results oriented when you play it will be a good idea to before he session pick one or two strategy/mindset areas that you prepare for and make the main goal of the session to look for, anticipate, mark hands and analyze post session. You have to actively give your mind something else to work with more than the results.

How can you tell that you start wanting to check the results in session? What is the first sign? Emotional, tilt, making a mistake, or losing a big pot etc?

-First sign might be after losing like 2 stacks by beats or so and then tilt start growing result thinking takes place. Also starting to get mad when losing small pots; start making mistakes and not getting value from hands because of results thinking. Connected to losing confidence when accumulated in a few sessions in a row.

Thanks for your kind assistance on my mental issues! _love:

Dean

My pleasure dude!

So now we know what a common in game trigger is, 2 bad beats etc.
Let's say when you get it all in or you value bet thin ton the river with for example the second nuts and you are fist pumping. What is the only thing you need to prepare for?

When you flop top set with TT on T26 are you already thinking "Yes! Now im gonna get paid the $$$$$$$$!!!!" or something like that? Can you see how you are already giving yourself huge emotionally negative odds in hat situation?

Do you go back and revisit the hands that tilted/bothered you the most in session after or later next day or so?

Not being pushed by the nuts Well If I get called in 3-4 situations like that in a session by a stronger hand, maybe I am not confident enough to thin value bet next time (if thats what you mean).

Well I get excited a little more than when missing the board completely, but not that I count it for a must-win-a-stack-hand.

No, I do not do this very often and might be a good practical idea. Anyway when I review such hands after some time I do not get mad and I understand its part of the game and its gonna happen. Though I understand variation pretty well, sometimes while playing it still doing its job on the tables
I've tried to go and play on lower limit. And there I do not tilt that easy - I feel mentaly more stable and lets say I can keep my A-game for longer. Out of this I only think that results($) are the main reason..

1. Exactly. But the key here is anticipation. All you focus should go on. What do i do if he raises here" the quicker you get into the habit of that the calmer you will be and the better the decision itself will be. it also cushions the emotional impact a ton. Practice it as often as you can. :)

2. Good to hear. But keep a look out for its not binary and it might show up when you are at your weakest or a bit tilty and be the thing that pushes you over the edge... So don' t sleep on it so to say...

3. This really is key. and if that hand wasn't the cause but the symptom of the tilt star backtracking until you actually do find what happened. The chain of events etc etc.

4. Look at these issues as energy and focus stealer. They remove time from your A-Game and moves it to B-Game. I does it silently so to say.

BB ($85.55)
Hero ($100)
UTG ($100)
UTG+1 ($106)
UTG+2 ($68.77)
CO ($140)

BB posts (SB) $0.50

Dealt to Hero T♣ Q♣

UTG raises to $3, UTG+1 calls $3, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $2

FLOP ($9.50) 9♣ T♥ 4♥

Hero checks, UTG bets $8, UTG+1 calls $8, Hero calls $8

TURN ($33.50) 9♣ T♥ 4♥ Q♠

Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets $22, Hero calls $22, UTG folds

RIVER ($77.50) 9♣ T♥ 4♥ Q♠ 3♣

Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $73.74 (AI), Hero calls $67 (AI)

Spoiler

Hero shows T♣ Q♣
(Pre 40%, Flop 48.5%, Turn 68.2%)

UTG+1 shows J♥ A♥
(Pre 60%, Flop 51.5%, Turn 31.8%)

Hero wins $208

So far he called open from MP 1/8 (never 3bet). Fold to flop cbet 20%, 800 hands.

I don't think I have any sets in my percieved range, because I have them all raised before river, that's why I decide to induce a river bet and c/c (c/p) it. The guy is fairly aggressive and I expect him to push the river very often. Though he'd play his sets not much differently.

What do you think bout my passive line?

Regards,
Dean
