Wow this is an interesting hand. And not because those points you mentioned, but why don't you shove pre? To me it's insta shove here

22 hands: 37/0. No preflop raises, so his range is full of traps and/or other garbage that he won't fold pre, like QJo. If I might have no feQ, I'd rather not shove with a hand that does so poorly vs his range.

Fwiw, BB is also a huge fish. So I think we have enough edge not to take the thin preflop spot.

I still have this one firmly in my head...Thanks Tim :f_biggrin:

Annoyingly I haven't seen the original but I expect it's better because I really didn't think much of the acting in the remake.

Not heard of The King of Thorn. Should I add it to my list?

Well, I wouldn't recommend putting it to the top as it is a really weirdo, with one half of the audience talking really highly and the other half saying it doesn't make too much sense. However, it's definitely thought provoking, but really hard to understand (reality in reality in a dream that looks like a dream that looks like a reality type of complicated).

If you can find it somewhere then you should watch it because I'm really curious about someone's opinion but I don't know anyone who's seen it

I'd put him on this limping range. From my experience such limpers raise or push big aces and medium pairs cause they're afraid to trap with those.

And I'd think this is the loosest that he'd call.

Not yet considering if it's better to complete or push, do you agree on those ranges?

@dydukas, I think your ranges are not unreasonable for such players. (Although, given the specific stats on this player and the bubble situation, I would probably weight this as more trap heavy. I.e. he might well just fold some of the more speculative stuff in the hope SB vs BB get it in.) A push might be marginally profitable pre but given the fishiness of both players I think we can justify playing for a lower variance outcome.

Well, the games are tough out there, guys. It's causing a lot of previously winning regs to go on monkey tilt. Graphs like these are becoming all too common:

First guy tanks $70k in 10k games.
Second guy tanks $65k in 4k games.

This almost certainly isn't variance. I hope my graph never looks like this. If it does, I'll be trying my luck at 2-7 triple draw...

Then you will learn the basics of 2-7 triple draw very soon.

if its hypers it definitely can be variance. its only a 200 BI DS at the 300s, ive lost 50BIs in a day playing hypers before.

Very true. It's easy to misinterpret such graphs without more info. Fwiw, first guy doesn't play hypers. His abi is $66 but for the period of the downswing it's about $130. That's 500 bi.

second guy abi is $235, of which half games are $200 hypers. So around 275 bi downswing total.

Lets just say this: we'd better hope this is not variance; that's even more frightening frankly.

And if it is on Full tilt rather than other site i would say the variance in the hypers there could be even bigger than what LT3 says, as these are 10bb starting stack, perceivable edges are even smaller...

But i do agree about games becoming tougher and regfested, at ongame on 33-54$ turbos i consider an 'ok' table if i have just one fish + one loosing reg + two decent regs.. The reality is there are not many better tables running..

At the end the problem are not the regs, it is the fact that poker room is taking too much. Using poker room software is soooo expensive. For example supernovaelite paid ~50000$ to pokerstars to use their software and service last year, after rb. +50000$ from one person for using someones software, that is the crime!
