• i dont waste much time on negative thoughts EXCEPT one: no matter how good the decision was if we're all in and there's one or more streets to come i want to see the RESULT SO BAD.
This is a huge waste of actual energy for me. Luckily i dont play many tables like 6-7 max but still when this happens, there is NO WAY i can think the other table's hand straight.
Think ways of dealing with that are a) experience but mostly b) my PHYSICAL shape. And mindfulness obviously.
• C-Game: another thing is about my c-game. i dont spew or tilt much but what i do in these "c-game times" is to treat a spot like one of say 20 typical poker spots and dont give much attention to the unique aspect of the actual hand. No wonder why we're all so good when we come back after having stopped for a while: we treat every hand like a unique child or sth and pay attention to every single detail.
Also related to my physical shape in the moment. if i dont do any sport but play like 3k hands a day im going to be c-gaming v often from the 2nd/3rd week on. Obviously if i slept great in the past 3 days then it happens much less often.
• My A-Game
I feel very well physically.
i want to think of any possible way to win the hand (if i have air) or value as much as i can.
Im actually thinking of every option i have as absurd as it might sound from a so-called standard poker play.
But im not blindly bluffing and know when to let go - aware dynamic-wise (can be so stuupid sometimes from this pov).
I have their preflop range so nailed.
Im aware of previous >50bb pots on every single table and i take v clever notes (like gameplan-oriented).
I lose 200bb without even blinking.
My river Afq is > 30 lol.
I dont skype much if at all.
Anticipation: specially stat-anticipation. and im already thinking about what to do if i face a lead river or a raise now if i bet this street.
Also, im thinking of the deck as bluffing opportunities even when i have like a top pair (or a flush apparently ^^). this helps me a loooot when i dont have initiative and lets face it, since nowadays every reg knows the importance of it its so crucial to learn how to play without it.
Eric's speech on Awareness: the river spot facing ifficult decision: "In this moment you want to focus on hand range, pot odds, ... anything else that comes up is going to steal focus away like losing or winning the pot. Anything that has nothing to do that constructively helps you with the POKER decision."
This is so freaking true. In these moments im not even bothering about what will be the results of the hand, what should a great poker player do here, what the sickos i know expect from me etc im just looking for the facts/piece of info that will make me take the best decision i can at this moment. This is sssssoo relevant online especially on websites where you have like a 10seconds time bank.
-> doing the Triangle mindfulness exercise (12:35). But i prefer doing it this way: breathing in and out on each point of the triangle and then move on to the next one. (harder to keep the count this way though)
Also, i realised today during my run-mindfulness hour that it helps
focusing more on the sound my tranings or my legs are doing while running than focusing on the breath or my body.
• Writing down pre and in-session patterns of very good and bad sessions could be interesting to do.
Although apart from being active + good sleep patter im not a big fan of going through a v specific/detailed pattern: think it works against poker creativity and curiosity.
@Pat: dunno i just cba doing it. I found a way of doing it though: i try to do it while i go running (and it is so fkn hard ^^).
for the hand yeh im pretty sure hes folding every flush (although im not sure i have a FH very often but he almost certainly cant have one or can he?)
On a side note: a friend of mine and i have had the idea of doing a round the world trip in a year/1 andhalf year for a while now. Hes a big fan a personal development stuff - things Primoz preaches.
The project is starting looking serious and i would need to have a much more serious/"professional" approach to it. When i first moved up through the limits this is what i used to do: i wrote long-term, mid-term and short-term goals. I will do it again for this project.
"long-term" goals dont have to be income & poker-related necessarily - there mite be some kind of financial help out there or other ways of doing these kinds of journey.
Also the goal could go beyond the trip itself like maybe it'll help to understand me better, to know what i want to do with the rest of my life - or at least the next 10 years etc.
Anyway, heading to Aspers now. ♠_evil:
