Please refer to my original reply to you regarding this hand. I mentioned before that villain's opens 3BB with strong hands like JJ+, AT+, KJ+. The reason I shove turn is to effectively price him out on all sort of his draws and scare him off all of his weak pair. I put him exactly on Jx,Tx, FD on this hand.

But even so, I think betting half pot to 2/3 pot and shoving river will get more value out of him.

I already answered this one on my reply to GarlicYum. If I bet 2/3 pot on the turn, it will only leave me $4.55 betting to $11.55 by the river. Pretty easy call from any fish with 2nd pair type hands. I often avoid these kind of situations unless I know I have him beat and want to stack him off by the river.

Against unknown at 10NL, my play above is questionable. I think the most important point that you guys missed in my replies is that I have a READ on villain. I mentioned it on my very first reply.

Okay, you know it's not be JJ+, AT+ or KJ+. Did you consider why he called your 3bet? Does he always call 3bets? If so, do you think A7o is good enough to 3bet for value?

Yes it's true if you bet turn you have to shove river and he will likely call. I'm just saying that if villain is capable of calling with weaker hands like 22-66 or worse 7x then its better not to shove because his calling range vs a smaller bet is weaker than vs a shove. Since you're bluffing here, then it's better to shove.

How many FDs do you think he can have? Do you expect him to call hands like 7d3d,7d4d vs a 3bet? It depends whether he is fishy or not. The loosest range I can give a reg who calls flop is 23s,34s,45s,56s,J8s-JQs, Q8s-Q9s, K8s-K9s, A2s-A6s, A8s, A9s (all diamonds), all other combos of Q9, all J8s-JQs (non diamonds), T8s,T9s,QTs,KTs. I don't include sets,straights and twopair because you said he will raise. And hands like T6s,J6s or offsuit jacks/tens I doubt he will call.

Okay, on this turn. Let's say that we expect all FDs w/o pair to fold. These include 2d3d,3d4d,4d5d,5d6d,Kd8d, Ad2d-Ad6d, Ad8d,Ad9d. 12 combos
we expect all Jx w/o FD to fold: J8s-JQs(non diamond non heart). 8 combos
we expect all Tx w/o FD to fold: T8s,T9s,QTs,KTs(non heart). 8 combos

We expect the rest to call: Jd8d,Jd9d, Qd8d,all Q9,QdJd, Kd9d, Th8h, Th9h, KhTh: 21 combos.

This means 57.1% of the time he folds: 0.571 x 4.55= 2.598
42.9% of the time he calls and your equity vs his range is 17.61%: 0.429[(0.1761x20.05)-(0.8239x7.75)]= -1.225

EV= 2.598-1.225= 1.373 (I gave him the loosest range I can though)

Now let's say we expect him to call all his FDs, so he basically folds 32.65%: 0.3265 x 4.55= 1.486

He calls 67.35% of the time and your equity vs his range is 38.67%: 0.6735[(0.3867x20.05)-(0.6133x7.75)]= 2.021

EV= 1.486+2.021= 3.507

Okay, by your reads that villain never raises 2.5 w strong hands, never slowplays and assuming he has such a call 3bet range (including hands like 23s). It's +EV. Not alot though especially in the first case. So basically if he slowplays sets and two pairs, have a tighter call 3bet range, it's likely a -EV move.
