I have 200 hands on the villain and he's only calling 3% of the time so when he raised me was pretty worried about a set. I thought he'd be pretty likely call preflop with JJ, 88, or 66. I almost folded but thought he might have Jx.

I went all in because I figured if I reraise he just goes all in. It was either all in or fold.

Right play?

Hi Edukator,

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: The stats show only 3 hands. 200 hands is for the BTN.

Or did you mix up the stats by any chance?

Oh, oops sorry. I guess that eliminates what I thought I was thinking at the time. LOL.

Ok, he's unknown. I'm still pretty nervous about sets there but now Jx is far more likely.

Basically, any time I get raised like that, especially if I'm in early position which means I should have a very strong hand, by someone who has called in, I'm very wary of sets.

Sooo.... is the play I made correct?

If it was against the other guy folding would be a good option.

Against unknown it's closer but I think that unless we think he is a fish (and we have no reason to think that) we should consider folding as well. He is raising big on a wet board 3-way so I doubt he raises much weaker often. But if you do continue shoving is the best play.

Turns out he had KJ. And he hit a J on the river to suck out on me big time!

Anyway, the result doesn't matter, it's the question of what would bet best most of the time...

Tough result.

If villain is capable of raising Jx we have to go with such hands every time. In fact we would go with AJ+
