Hero (BTN): $21.28 (212.8 bb)
SB: $12.70 (127 bb)
BB: $12.08 (120.8 bb)
UTG: $10 (100 bb)
MP: $12.67 (126.7 bb)
CO: $21.29 (212.9 bb) 60/0 superpassive fish

The problem here is that T9 completes and villain has always 16 combos of straights in his range. He probably also has sets and 2p which he could play this way. I expect him to raise sets and flopped two pairs already at the flop some of the time so I'm weighting his range towards Qx 2pairs here, which we however block very much. I'm not sure if I can raise because of 16combos of T9, but calling and river could easily kill the action and scare fish away. No we got lucky. What's the best line?

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q Q
2 folds, CO calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.40, 2 folds, CO calls $0.30

Flop: ($0.95) 8 J 2 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $0.70, CO calls $0.70

Turn: ($2.35) Q (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $1.90, CO raises to $3.80, Hero calls $1.90

River: ($9.95) J (2 players)
CO bets $9.46, Hero raises to $16.38 and is all-in, CO calls $6.92

Results:

Spoiler

$42.71 pot ($2.13 rake)
Final Board: 8 J 2 Q J
Hero showed Q Q and won $40.58 ($19.30 net)
CO showed Q J and lost (-$21.28 net)

Hello,

Against a super passive opponent I like the way you played, especially when you think that he is going to raise his sets/two pair on the flop.

Best,
Plamen

If we call turn raise, what do we do if villain pots river which is 3 :spade: ??

Against a range of T9 and QJ we only have 15% so I would fold there since I am not even sure that a passive opponent would pot it with QJ there.
