9 man, regular speed, $3.5 Buy-in (75/150 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 6 Players left

BTN: 2,350 (15.7 bb)
SB: 3,190 (21.3 bb)
BB: 2,895 (19.3 bb)
UTG: 1,275 (8.5 bb)
Hero (MP): 1,180 (7.9 bb)
CO: 2,610 (17.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q K
UTG calls 150, Hero raises to 1,180 and is all-in, 2 folds, SB calls 1,105, 2 folds

Flop: (2,660) 4 2 7 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Turn: (2,660) A (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: (2,660) 6 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

2,660 pot
Final Board: 4 2 7 A 6
SB showed 5 5 and won 2,660 (1,480 net)
Hero showed Q K and lost (-1,180 net)

Everyone were tight-passive recreational players, who were folding to shoves very often. Although the SB had called a shove earlier for 2/3 of his stack with QJo.

I thought this was a good opportunity, since the blind would hit me at 100-200 level. What do you think?

(sorry if this sth pretty standard, i am just noob at SNGs)

Hello Erevos,

Without notes for UTG that he is trapping than our shove is great. We got fold equity against UTG and even if he calls us we got enough equity.

Τhank you parodiq, just one more question. If you had seen UTG limp-folding a couple of times, what hands would you push with in the same situation.

Just "by feel" i would say 22+, KJ+, A8+. Is this too tight range, too stupid or what? ?(

Hi,

It is a bit too loose imo. He can be limp/calling here and also there are 4 players behind us so something like 55+, A8s+,A9o+, KJs+, KQo+ looks fine to me. If villains behind us are tight than shove with a bit wider range looks fine.
