I mean...there's really no other way to play this is there? When he called on the flop I'm putting him on a queen, turn, same thing, river I'm hoping he has KQ. I don't see much else he'd be playing...the other possiblities are 33,55,99 j10, maybe AK...AQ, Kx, Qx... he should be raising with AK, AA, KK, QQ...He might have a set of Queens.

With only .31.5 BB left in his stack I have to value bet there don't I?

Hi Edukator,

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: On flop and turn you may even get called by JJ-TT and on the river it's close because you only beat AQ and maybe QJ. Villain is most likely slowplaying all sets and has KQ as well. So I think that there are more hands that beat us than we beat (AQ is only 6 combos while KQ is 12 combos). So check/folding might be a good alternative given the villain and board. If he had 100 BB we could bet/fold.

Really? See, I would give him a wide range of Qx hands Like....Q9, 10, J, K, A...maybe lower... And same with Kx... I was also hoping he might have JJ, 10 10....

I can't see check folding, that's the only problem.

anyway, as it turned out he had pocket nines so hit a set on the turn...which, actually was not even on my mind at the time. So I guess playing more cautiously is better. The dilemma was that he only had about 2/3 of the pot left in his stack. I thought about a 1/2 pot bet or so but if he went over the top on me I'd be pot committed wouldn't I? If he'd had a bigger stack I might have bet 1/3-1/2 of the pot and folded to a raise.

Given the stack sizes you can't really bet anything else.

Given villain is playing 9/7 over 74 hands why would you have such weak hands as Q9 and QT in his range?

Sure 74 hands is not a lot but it's not to tell us he's not the loosest player.
