Modern Poker [Coaching] w/ TwiceT & Manu

Heyo,

As you remember, we took some notes from all the stuff that was discussed last time. I will try to do this everytime (as long as it makes sense) and post them afterwards in this thread so you can have some summary everytime of what has been already discussed.

Monday 27th May coaching - TwiceT is back!

- flatting UTG and MP raises in SB and BB:
- SB vs BB different, player behind in BB, different range
- tight in SB (tight is right, obv :P)
- avatar, stacks, tables played, etc, all are reads
- general assumption of the field, since you play a lot of that stake

- 3betting range vs MP:
- polarised
- change vs regs with dynamics

- NL50 Stars Zoom winrate:
- 5bb/100 is great after gathering a good sample plus adding RB

- GTO opinion:
- probably still not the best for NL100 and below;
- play GTO where people are unexploitable as well or where we don't know any leaks
- we still want to find leaks, induce mistakes, etc.

- 3bet strategy vs UTG in Zoom 6max in blinds:
- usually don't 3bet vs UTG (tight on average)
- most people don't abuse enough
- helps our calling range to flat the premiums as well, esp vs good players

- open UTG, 3bet from BB, 4bet or flat:
- not too many strict rules in general
- always adjust, be flexible, adapt as much as possible
- vs who? we can disguise range if we are perceived capped when we falt so opponent can make a mistake by spewing postflop

- NL to PLO:
- very different games
- need good mindset and network to learn (friends, PokerStrategy vids, etc.)
- need a clear plan (income, time spent studying, playing and so on)

- preparing mentally:
- not really prepare
- better have stricter rules in BRM
- swingy, nothing else you can do, just play your best

- overbets NL25-NL50:
- usually gain FE vs regs
- mostly value, maybe super strong bluffs
- LP opens, you call BB , checks back flop and you bet 2x pot on turns - good spot to overbet, easier to construct

- mindset:
- accept the nature of the game

- anonymous tables:
- fewer tables, focus on opponents more

- nervousness in live play:
- experience;
- unique dynamics
- take your time with your actions

- time management:
- only play 100% or also distracted?
- some people have a specific routine to prepare, get in the zone, etc.
- the better the mindset, the less preparation you need
- long sessions require preparation: be rested, have food, water, etc.

- meditation & mindfulness:
- identifying own approaches

- warmup session:
- no real routine
- try to not have distractions during the session (skype, phone, friends, flat mates, etc.)
- prepare material (music, courses if you listen to during your session, etc)

- play NL50 -> watch NL400-NL1k videos:
- listen to the reasoning do not copy the style
- the more you learn the better you get, small progress all the time

- mindset:
- all books, more info is better;
- Steve Pavlina, Nassim Taleb, Jared Tendler for poker specific, Matthew Hilger

- increasing tables:
- personal assessment
- how does increase number of tables change your winrate
- how do you handle mindset of swinging more stacks in same time span because of more hands per hour, etc.
