NL5 Speed: JJ vs C/R

You don't think your opponent can have 54 and 76 here? How so? It's definitely a fold. Your hand looks good but when you get raised, their range is all strong hands on the flop that they have in their preflop range, in this case, straight, 2pair, sets, some strong draws like 7xcc, T9cc, A high club draw. Against such a range it's very hard to call. You need good idea of his barreling tendency and usually the better play is to fold with JJ.

Didn't think 45 or 76 was in BB calling range, you think it is that wide? what you think is average calling range than because, than i'm way off ♠

You are probably way off because you mirror your own thought process and play in your opponent's.

Remember this is NL5 and most people playing it don't learn from pokerstrategy so they play what they think is good, meaning they like pairs, suited hands and even just connected hands of different suits.

Your default here should be to assume people play too loose and passive unless you have information that tells you otherwise.

You're right about that mirroring... So i should just put opponents on any cards that could have hit the board if they start playing back even if it is not in a normals person range? What is best way to put unknowns on ranges then, how do i best learn it?

A 'normal' or average poker player is a losing one. He plays too many hands and loses his bankroll given enough time. You are thinking a normal player is one that actively studies the game, like you do. That is definitely not the case.

You don't have to put them on any cards, start by thinking what are the cards that people play all the time against a raise. Usually it's pairs, broadways and suited hands. In order to be more accurate against unknowns, review hands that went to showdown. Take 1hr/day and check hands that went to showdown. Before you actually see the hands, input their range in equilab and correct yourself given the information you get from that showdown. Keep in mind to think in hand types when ranges are so wide. It's very hard to put people on just 3-4 hands, rarely the case you can do that.
