hi
i testing drink 1 glas water every hour. i'm truly more awake, but i have to go every 20 minutes to the toilet. is that normal? it interrupts everytime my concentration phases.
It should normalize with time but it will still be frequent. Think of it as forced breaks that prevent you burning out ;-).

Hello,
Is it productive to practice speed reading a whole month, while knowing that after this practice month, I will not be able to read for the next month AT ALL, because of a camp? I am just worried about that my progress will disappear and my invested time totally wasted.
Hey, probably not. If you want to maintain speed reading you need to read frequently ;).

Hi, dberic
Welcome to the forums!
It is pretty much impossible to concentrate 100% on two different things!
However all of us has a list of things in Real Life that we need to prioritize.
So it comes down to how we balance the time, energy and effort between the various things.
By following the guidelines in the first post in this thread, you would be most likely able to maximize your productivity in both.
All the best,

Hey dberic!
It really depends on what "100% concentrated" means to you :). Is it possible to be concentrated on two things at the SAME time? I don't think so.
But if we change the perspective of your question and ask ourselves "Is it possible to do more than one thing in our lives and give each and every task we do our full attention?", I would say it definitely IS possible.
It's not easy of course and there's no magical solution for it that I can give you. It is a combination of having a lot of ENERGY (nutrition, exercise, sleep, hydration...), getting rid of DISTRACTIONS (clearing your head, mindfulness practice) and KNOWING what you're focusing on (if you play poker, always have session goals. If you're doing the joint work, always be aware of what you're trying to improve at that very moment).
I suggest going through my video on Focus and then immediately APPLYING some of the advice from the video.
Let me know how it goes!

Hey Schnitzelfisch,
what do you think about nootropics in order to increase concentration, focus, memory etc?
(I am specifically thinking of a natural supplement called alpha brain)

Hey,
Short-term/for special occasions it's fine, long-term I don't think it makes that much sense. It depends on the prices etc. how +EV it is to take them and it depends from product to product if it keeps having same effects after a month.
My personal opinion is that these are mostly USED as shortcuts to not have to do the work (exercising, sleep, nutrition, etc.).
I would only go for them if:
1) You already live a healthy lifestyle and are DOING the work to stay focused
2) The price seems super cheap to you. If they seem expensive just don't buy them.
If 1) isn't true, do that first. You can get better results without burning money unnecessarily.
If 2) isn't true, buy these when you have enough money.
Ofc. it's all about small edges in poker and these might give you an edge, but way too often they're used as "buy this, get results" instead of "do the hard work, get results". You don't want to rely on a supplement and get lazy with your habits.
So I would really only recommend nootropics if you already have optimized every other area of your life to get those few additional % of performance (they def. aren't as effective as advertised). It's questionable if you would even seek them in this case though, because you'd already be able to focus really well ;).
